Chapter Eighteen

It was right in front of me. Gigantic and black. It stared into my eyes with his dark orbs. Nervously I gulped. The power that radiated from the wolf was menacing. It flashed its pearly white but razor sharp teeth and I took a few steps back hitting the tree in the process. "Ouch", I exclaimed and covered my head with my palm. I rubbed the spot and silently cursed under my breath.

The wolf took a step towards me. My breath hitched. It slowly neared me as if I was its prey. It would surely pounce on me soon. Frantically I looked around trying to find anyone. I didn't know who this wolf was, the only thing I knew was that it wasn't a normal werewolf. It radiated more power and authority than others.

I pressed my body against the tree trying to keep as much space between us. I would be a fool to run away now. Probably I would activate their animal instinct and it would hunt me down. The wolf never stopped staring at me. It stopped walking towards me till it was only a few meters away from me.

The wolf growled at me and I gulped. What should I do. I couldn't shift into a bird and fly away. The werewolves can't know that I'm a shifter. But nevertheless the wolf knows that I'm not a warrior either. A warrior wouldn't be scared. A warrior would fight but the only thing I wanted to do was flee. My heart ached at the thought of not knowing how to properly defend myself without the burst of adrenaline or my power.

"Okay I know this may sound idiotic and I know a lady like me, above all a foreigner like me shouldn't be in this forest. And obviously not in this attire because I don't know whether you're a female or a male and if you were a male I wouldn't want you to see me in this dress but lets go to the point I would gladly welcome it if you wouldn't tell this anyone", I babbled out. I breathed in deeply. I don't know any other occasion where I talked that much to an animal. The wolf stared at me in response and I sighed loudly throwing my hands in the air. "Please just give me some kind of sign if you're okay with it."

All of a sudden the wolf began shifting back and I yelped loudly covering my eyes with both hands. "You are indeed dressed inappropriately", a deep voice answered. I had the urge to peek through my hands and catch a glimpse of the person. The voice sounded familiar and I wanted to get any kind of confirmation that I knew him. A thought flashed across my mind. "Oh my forest you're a male", I squealed and pressed my body further into the tree. I was wearing a nightgown which the maid has given me because my other dress was soaked in a purple liquid called fairy blood. Slowly I slid my body down, the tree bark scratching my nightgown.

I was now sitting against the tree and tried to cover as much as it was possible without using my hands. "You're being difficult", the voice echoed through the forest. I heard him nearing me and suddenly his hot breath fanned at my face. Goosebumps erupted on my whole body and I shuddered visibly.

"I would appreciate it if you would take a few steps back I feel uncomfortable around a naked male", I stated. My breathing stopped as I realized that he was indeed naked from the bottom to the top. My mind wandered to the werewolf that has taken advantage of my and I felt like needles began stinging my throat. My organs felt like they were crushing but I didn't move an inch. I kept my hands on my eyes.

"Please don't..", I said with a hoarse voice. It felt hard to breath and I buried my head in between my knees and put my hands on my head. I grabbed a few strands of hair and began slightly tugging at them. "Don't.." I repeated. Pictures flashed across my mind with the bulky werewolf. Him entering me. Him not caring about ripping my womanhood. Him taking advantage of me. Then those memories of the centaur drilled into my mind as he tortured me and left marks on my body. One of my hand released the strands and went to my shoulder, gripping it tight. "Are you okay?", the werewolf asked as I felt him crouching down and putting his hand on my head. Briskly I shook his hand off and stood up, covering once again my eyes. I turned around and began running. I knew that this was the worst decision of my life and that he would overrun me but I needed to get away.

I heard him following me but he didn't seem to try to catch me.

I removed my hands from my eyes and sprinted to the clearing where the castle was located. Wanting to get away from the male and wanting to be in a familiar place. The male was still behind me but seemed to put a distance between us and not trying to get me. I never could imagine that a werewolf would let me run around like this. He probably knew that I shouldn't have been there in the first place.

I screamed as I tripped over my own feet while running and protected my head as a reflex. With a thud I fell onto the ground scraping my legs and elbows. "Why am I like this", I yelled at myself. Dusting away the dirt on my dress I stood up. "Are you alright?", the werewolf asked with somewhat worry in his voice. My whole posture froze as he stood behind me. "Please leave me alone. I'm on my way back to my chamber", I quietly replied.

Without even waiting for a response I walked off inside the castle leaving the werewolf outside. I even forgot about the cold weather because of the adrenaline that pumped through my body. My body began to tremble and I wrapped my arms around myself. Walking barefoot to my chamber.

As soon as I reached the door to my chamber I debated on turning around and go back to see the werewolf's face. But I knew that I already was in too much trouble and pushed the door handle down only to realize that it was locked. Was this the wrong door? I looked around and it couldn't be the wrong door. I remembered the 8 lit candles in this hallway and a blueish plant in the corner of the hall. This should be the right door.

I pushed the handle once again and it was indeed locked. Did a maid lock the door without checking if I was in there? I knocked on the door. No answer. "Hello?", I called out and knocked twice. I heard someone putting a key into the keyhole and twisting it around. The thing opened the door and I took a step back. "Who's there?" I asked. "Be quiet", a familiar voice responded and my eyes nearly bulged out of my head. Quickly I entered my chamber and quickly closed the door, grabbing the key the person held in its hand and locking it.

"What are you doing here Kyllan", I whispered loudly. "I did tell you that I'll get you back."

"How did you know that I was in Rivakh?", I asked him and he smirked. "Don't ask too much question."

But I couldn't help it the question swirled inside of my mind and I wanted all of them to be answered. I looked at his brown hair that always was in front of his eyes. I raised my hand and brushed it out of his face. He took my hand that brushed his hair away into his and squeezed it. "You're freezing." He then pulled me towards him and hugged me tightly. I breathed his woodsy cologne in and sighed happily.

Snuggling closer to him to escape the coldness in this kingdom. "But tell me Kyllan, how did you get in?". He chuckled and scratched his head. "Ely I'm a well trained warrior. I can do anything." He didn't tell me more. I looked into his eyes trying to see if he would lie to me. He looked at me and I couldn't help but smile weakly. His hand was tangled in my wild waves and the other was scratching my back.

"I missed you", he confessed. "I missed you too", I replied while looking into his eyes. My eyes landed on his lips and I felt the urge to taste them. But we already had an intimate intercourse before I was departed to Idzor and even that one was already too much. I couldn't do it. I would disrespect my culture and my kingdom for not following the partner-rules. And on top of that I was already used. I could never have a partner in my life. The werewolf who took my innocence made sure of that. Nevertheless I enjoyed this moment.

"I know that you have a lot of question and a lot things to say but I have to go before someone catches me", Kyllan said. A single tear ran down my cheek and he wiped it away. "I will be back and the next time I will take you with me. I promise." I half cried-half laughed at his statement and he hugged me tightly before unlocking the door and disappearing.

Once again I was all alone.
