Rise of the Wolf

Scott Mccall is a 16-year-old boy living in a society that views werewolves as nothing more than myths and folklore. However, Scott's life takes an unexpected turn when he is granted a werewolf system, which transforms him into a powerful werewolf. The system has granted him immense physical strength, heightened senses, and the ability to shift between his human and werewolf forms at will. As he struggles to understand and control his newfound powers, Scott must keep them a secret from his family and friends, knowing that their fear and prejudice against werewolves could put him in danger. He quickly realizes that he is not the only one with werewolf powers, and there are others like him out there, who are being hunted and persecuted by those who fear them. Scott must navigate a world where werewolves are both feared and revered, and where he must decide whether to use his powers for good or for personal gain. He is forced to confront the consequences of his actions, as he struggles with the moral implications of his new identity. As his powers grow stronger, Scott discovers that there are those who would use his abilities for their own purposes. He must decide where his loyalties lie and whether he is willing to risk everything to protect his loved ones. Scott's journey is one of self-discovery, as he learns to embrace his inner werewolf while navigating a world that may never accept him for who he truly is. He must find the courage to be true to himself, even in the face of overwhelming adversity.

"Are you shitting me right now? You expect me to eat raw animal meat?"

There and then, the system decided to 'punish' him.

<New quest: Top Predator>

<Feed 5 like the monster you are: Prey on at least different animals>

<Reward: Instant level-up and additional free stat>

"You damned system!"

He couldn't do anything, besides the reward was a little tempting, he wanted to see what it felt like to level up and see what he could do with the free stats, but it was too early to start counting his chicks, and he wanted them to hatch before doing just that.

Dropping his bags by the side of the alley, he removed his sweater and shirt so as not to stain them with blood and mud from the woods that was right after the alley and raise questions when he got home. Dashing forward, his heartbeat increased, increasing his stats temporarily.

His heart rate increased rapidly and he had started partially transforming his body. This meant that he could maintain his human form but also alter certain features to suit his needs. Scott used this ability to try and even things between himself and the agile rodents.

Scott had always been fascinated by rodents. He admired their agility and ability to scurry through tight spaces. As a young boy, he spent hours watching them and learning their habits. Over time, he developed a deep understanding of their behaviour and could now use this knowledge at catching them.

Scott's technique was simple but effective. He would use his partial transformation to change his hands into sharp claws. This allowed him to easily dig into the dirt and catch burrowing rodents like moles and gophers. He dragged them out and ate them hesitantly, but the moment the taste of blood and raw meat sparked his taste buds, he devoured them like the monster the system had described him to be.

When he was hunting rodents that scurried across the ground, Scott would transform his legs into powerful hindquarters that could run at incredible speeds and begin to chase after the rats that scurried across the ground. The rats were fast, but Scott was faster. He chased them down one by one and caught them with ease. With his heightened senses, he could easily spot and catch even the fastest of rodents around. His sharp claws made quick work of the rodents, and he soon had a pile of dead rodents at his feet.

As the day wore on, Scott began to tire. The hunting was starting to take a toll on him and there seemed to be no end in sight. Just as he was about to give up, he noticed something strange. One of the rats was different from the rest. It was larger and seemed to be leading the others.

He had noticed that apart from the free stats the system was about to reward him, he could gain different stats from different animal flesh. Moles, for instance, added points to <endurance >, squirrels added points to <agility >, gophers added points to <strength >, raccoons added points to random stats and rats added points to <luck >, which his system reserved for him, due to him not having unlocked it yet.

Scott began to chase after the leader of the rats. The rat was fast, but Scott was again faster. He chased it through the woods and deeper into the woods.

Finally, Scott caught up to the rat. It was a tiring chase, but Scott managed to corner it and subdued it. At first, it seemed to try to break free from the skill, but it eventually succeeded and he emerged victorious. He felt embarrassed to use skills to catch such lowly creatures, but shook off the thought as quick as it came. With the leader of the rats dead, he ate it and gained 2 points for luck. He would try to figure out what he could do with this stat.

The system didn't explain the new stats as it did for the new skills, he expected it to act as a guide, but it seemed to have a mind of its own and chose whenever it wanted to display information for him. He could already make a guess what the new stats meant from the games he and Miyah played. He could as well ask his friend for additional info about it.

His <intelligence > was his ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills to solve complex problems or make decisions with outcomes benefiting him. For the system to state that this was his current intelligence, he felt he was quite the intelligent one, compared to his other stats. The system, like always did decided to taunt him, and Scott could almost see it smiling while doing so.

<Intelligence: 30>

<Others 2 3 your type are to times more intelligent, you have a long way ahead of>

<Charm > was the quality that makes others like or feel attracted to him. It was quite poor. Did that mean he was not good-looking? He was sure Damian was at least 50 or thereabout.

<Luck > was his ability to prosper or succeed especially through chance or good fortune, which he didn't have.

In the city centre, a police station stood out amongst all other contemporary buildings. 2 streets away stood a house built with simplicity in mind. One of the rooms had its windows open and the head of a boy could be seen.

Stiles seemed focused and stared hard at the screen reading and typing away as if his life depended on it.

He continued his research on werewolves even though he had created the werewolf guide for his friend. Just like Dmitri Mendeleev had predicted and left space for future elements to be discovered, Stiles left quite the space for any other new information he would come across that needed documenting about werewolves.

On his screen were the words 'Full Moon'

Thinking hard, he exclaimed

"The match is scheduled for the weekend, on Saturday, the night of the full moon!"

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
