Rise of the void prince

"Am I going to die" He thought as he looked at the sky that was dyed red. Raindrops fell on his body which was covered with blood and injuries which looked horrifying. He looked around to see mountains of human corpses. Whether it was strangers or allies, he felt sorrowful as humanity was going to be extinct and he wasn't able to stop it. He felt his consciousness was leaving his body as he couldn't keep his eyes open for much longer. He closed his eyes as his heartbeat rang slower and slower. The only thing valuable on his body that hasn't been broken to pieces seemed to be the silvery, white ring that was adorned on his right hand's middle finger. As his heart was about to stop beating, white light started to appear around him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter length-1000~3000 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Chapter-12

As Zhou Li was moving toward the village,

"Master, don't need to worry about Chunhua being seen neither players nor NPCs will be able to see nor hear Chunhua except for master and master can talk to Chunhua with master's mind"

'That's good to hear'

Zhou Li then went toward the village chief.

Zhou Li didn't check the difficulty nor the description or the rewards of the quest because he knew all of them. The difficulties of quests would change according to the level of the player. As an example, the rabbit quest was difficulty F and the wolf was D. But the wolf quest would be F if he were level 10 or higher.

"Master, have you used your inspection skill on the NPCs"

'No, why'

"Just use it and master will find out"

{Name: Luo Chen

Race: Human

Gender:Male

Level:???}

Zhou Li had a suspicion that the village head was strong and his thought had been answered.

"Master, your inspection can measure till level 100"

'Umm what'

"Master, have you checked your inspection skill on your page"

{Inspection(Level Max)}

"It seems that it didn't update when master first saw it"

"Also, master's inspection is a bit special"

Zhou Li was about to ask what special it was but what appeared in front of his eyes answered his question.

{Quests}

{Kill ten rabbits and get ten rabbit's feet}

{Description: The rabbits are ruining the crops of the village}

{Requirements to get quest: None}

{Rewards: 100 exp and 50 copper coins}

{KIll ten wolves and get ten wolf claws}

{Requirements to get quest: Either finish the first quest or ask the village chief for stronger monsters}

{Rewards:500 exp and three silver coins}

{Kill...

All the quests that were given by the village chief Luo appeared. Zhou Li knew that he could get the second quest because of his knowledge from his past life. Even after the release of the game on the first day, there were many newcomers pouring in every day and Zhou Li also used this method in his past life because he was late to the game and there was knowledge about it on the game's forum.

But what made him surprised was the other section that appeared. It had golden light coming from it as if it was something special.

{Secret quests}

{Heal the village chief's wife}

{Description: The village chief wife had been poisoned with a deadly poison and the village chief asked several famous doctors to heal her but they never had found a poison so potent, they said that it would either need a famous doctor from the cities or a gall bladder from a more powerful snake.}

{Requirement for getting quest: Reputation max with the village, showing the gall bladder of the Level 10 silver boss: Sorrowserpent in front of the village chief}

This was a quest he had never heard of in his past life. It was either the person who finished it didn't put it on the forum or no one had ever completed it. Secret quests were one of a kind and could only be completed once.

{Rewards:???}

The rewards for secret quests were always secret and even though Zhou Li wanted to know what they were, it was fine if he didn't as well. He couldn't be greedy since he had already gained so much.

"Village chief, I finished the task you asked me to do"

Zhou Li handed the ten rabbit's feet needed to finish the task. He expected the village chief to be powerful because of his instincts but the village chief was stronger than he even expected.

{You have completed the task}

{You have obtained 100 exp and 50 copper coins}

"It seems that I have underestimated you, young adventurer"

"The others in the village seem to be having problems as well"

"If you have time young adventurer, try to help them as well, they will give you rewards for your hard work as well"

Zhou Li went towards the blacksmith. The blacksmith was a bald middle-aged brown man with muscles packed.

Zhou Li used his inspection skills on the blacksmith as well and saw that the blacksmith didn't have a secret quest just normal quests.

"Umm, Sir Blacksmith Wan"

"A new face I see, did the village chief send you to me"

"There are many crafts of mine that are presented on racks over there"

"And just old Wan would do, no need for the formalities"

"Then Old Wan, the village chief said that there were many problems that were making it difficult for the village, is there anything Old Wan having trouble might want me to do to help"

"Now that I think about it, young adventurer I am running out of iron ore and the merchant caravan hasn't arrived yet"

{Mine iron ore}

{Required: 0/50}

"Take this pickaxe young man and this skill"

{Received Iron pickaxe}

{You have learned the skill Mining (Level 1)}

Zhou Li looked at the weapons and bought a normal iron sword and sold his old dagger for some copper coins. The damage was only 4-6 but it was better than the dagger he had received when he started. Then he went to other NPCs to receive several quests since he needed to reach max reputation with the village. It was going to be a lot of work but he was up for it. There weren't that many who tried to get max affection with the village since it would be time-consuming and they would have already reached level 10 when they could leave the village and go to a kingdom and max reputation with the starting village would do nothing since one could not go back after coming and would not give benefits after level 10. There would be hundreds and thousands of starting villages in the future. The one Zhou Li joined was village#1 since the maximum number of players for the village was not reached yet. A new village would be created once the last one had reached the maximum. The secret quest couldn't be finished by players from other villages either once one it was completed. The starting villages were like a tutorial. It was like upgrading the players to citizens from nobodies and then dropping them into the kingdoms where they could start their own journies.

Zhou Li then went to the other NPCs such as the alchemist, carpenter, and others to take various quests. If he was going to get max reputation with the village, he has to do every single quest available in the starting village. It was going to be a lot of work but he will have to finish it before he got to level 10 since he didn't want to waste too much time if it was for the secret quest, a little bit of time won't hurt but if its a lot of time that would hurt the chances of his future plans, he would definitely just bail this quest and go. Though the secret item from the village chief interests him, there were many secret quests he could take in the future in the kingdoms.

Then Zhou Li looked at his status. Aside from the extra stats, he could add, the stats given because of the level up were also doubled. The extra stats are stats that could be put in based on the specialization of classes.

There were some who didn't put it based on specialization but most of those who do it had to go with the class they had put the stats in or they would have to wait a week and create a new character to restart their journey. There was an explanation about how many classes and how they worked would be explained in the waiting hall or the place Zhou Li first arrived at when he went into the game. There would be an A.I voice that would explain about them when asked about classes or the knowledge could be read in the forums as well. The classes couldn't be gotten till one reached level 10 and arrived at the kingdoms.

Zhou Li put them evenly for now since he didn't know which class he would choose and his stats would outpower other players anyways because of the extra stats. The stat points that could be gained upon leveling up were only 5.

After taking all the quests, Zhou Li went back to the forest where the wolves resided. Zhou Li could now kill the wolves as if they were rabbits. He then collected the mushrooms and flowers that were needed for the alchemist as well as the clay needed for the pottery. He collected lots of items needed for the quests inside the forest he was even a little bit worried that his inventory couldn't keep up but it was just enough. There were 25 inventory slots and there was a max stack limit for materials but for items, it would take out a full inventory slot. There were certain drops that would only be dropped once you received a certain skill such as wolf pelts only dropping once you had the skinning skill. There was an on and off feature for the bodies of monsters which could be activated via mental thoughts. If you turned it on, you could skin the body yourself with the skinning skill and it would depend on luck and skill level. Doing it like this would increase your skill level a bit faster as well as gain more drops on the item the skill affects. The bodies would disappear naturally if left for a few minutes or if there was nothing else that could drop.

If a monster had three drops and a player had only one skill that could affect the drop of one, after using the skill, the rest of the drops would appear with the body's disappearance which could be done by mind activation.

After Zhou Li had come back to the village, he turned in the tasks that required going into the forest and getting things from it. He gained a lot of exp and money from it. Two-thirds of the experience needed to level 2 had been gotten.
