Rise of the Dragon Emperor

Hello there! I'm the author and this is my second attempt at making a novel. I have put in a lot of effort to make this novel as good as possible so that you can enjoy the novel which I have written. There will be minor mistakes within the novel, but I have tried my best to make the reading experience as best as possible. If you notice any errors or things that you do not like I will try to improve the problem as soon as possible. I hope that you enjoy my novel and continue to read it. I look forward to seeing all your comments and being able to interact with all of you :) Druak was an aspiring mage who wished to gain vast amounts of knowledge and had an incredibly amount of curiosity. Fate, however didn’t allow him to follow the path which he wished to follow. After a failed experiment Druak was sent into a coma for many years and lost his best chance to learn anything about magic. After living for 27 years Druak tragically died after being pushed off a cliff by a figure which was cloaked in black. Druak had lived a miserable life, each person he ever cared for or got close die before his eyes. Even his best friend was brutally killed in front of his eyes and Druak was powerless to stop it. 100 years after Druaks death a battle that shook the entire continent took place between a Lich king and four minor kingdoms. This battle resulted in the death of the Lich King. And the death of this Lich King seemed to set something into motion. Traveling all the way back in time Druak was once again alive, this time inside his 17-year-old body. He was finally given a second chance however, unbenounced to him he wasn’t the only one who was given a second chance. The cover of this novel does not belong to me so if the original owner wishes for me to take it down please let me know and I will be sure to change it.

Oscar's Strength

After some time all the applicants had gathered and everyone was now at the main hall. Not wasting any time the lead teacher approached the same stage at which the 2nd year students were at and began to tell all the applicants what would happen next.

"Congratulations to all of you that have passed the previous test. I understand that it was a very difficult test, however we must conduct this test so we don't allow anyone weak of mind to join our prestigious academy…. Now, I would like to introduce you to our wonderful 2nd year students that will help you conduct your next test."

Once the lead teacher finished her speech one of the female students quickly stood up and began to speak in a very calm and composed voice."It is a pleasure to meet all of you. My name is Marie Astol and I will be testing all mages who are..."

It seemed as though each 2nd year would be in charge of students that would be in the same class as them, this had slightly intereted Druak but after some time of listening he began to lose interest.

After this continued for quite some time Druak had decided to separate from the crowd and explore, in hopes of finding something that could peak his interest, at least till the actual tests started.

As Druak was walking away Oscar seemed to notice and followed closely behind Druak.

It seemed as though Druak hadn't noticed he was being followed as he didn't seem to respond at all to Oscar following him.

Oscar's first thought was. 'I wonder what he's up to, looks like fun. This tradition is boring anyway.'

Normally Oscar liked to follow traditional rules and be honourable, but this was mainly due to his heritage so when he was given the chance to sneak away he took it.

As Oscar followed Druak he began to become confused, whispering."Why's he going to such a remote place."

Oscar was following Druak into some small corridors that were close to the second test and it appeared as though Druak was going to a completely random location. However the reason soon became clear as just when Druak went around a corner Oscar had completely lost sight of him.

Turning around Oscar depressingly said."I thought I did pretty good at following him, when did he find out."

Just as Oscar finished speaking, a shadowy figure dropped from a pillar directly behind Oscar and quickly answered his question."What are you on about. That was terrible tailing. I knew you were there from the beginning."

Oscar quickly spun around ready for a fight, slightly caught off guard from the sudden appearance of this figure, he didn't hesitate to swing straight at the figure.

Responding as quickly as possible Druak summoned a burst of ice to redirect the fist, but the strength was too strong and aura had been imbued within the fist.

Despite managing to reduce the speed of the punch it still managed to hit Druak barely a second after the fist had been swung and already collided with Druak's arms, which he had used to cover his face.

Druak was sent flying to the floor, a shocked expression appearing on his face as he thought.' What was that strength, I thought I'd gotten stronger. Just how strong is Oscar and what would have happened if my body hadn't improved thanks to Astra.'

Druak's thoughts were in such a muddle that he didn't even hear Oscar rushing to him, constantly apologising for what had happened.

After a few moments Druak had managed to get his thoughts together, gradually standing back to his feet. As he stood up he noticed both his arms had a massive bruise on them, however he tried to ignore the constant sharp pain, not wanting to worry Oscar.

"Are you alright. I'm really sorry for hitting you, I thought I was getting sneak attacked." Oscar repeatedly said, a panicked expression covering his face.

Druak simply looked at Oscar chuckled and said."What a strange person, why would someone attack you here, especially with you families statues."

Oscar looked at Druak and said."I'm the strange one. What about you, sneaking up on someone like that and being able to take one of my punches. Just who are you."

Druak, not wanting to disclose any information, decided to change the subject."So…why are you following me."

Oscar shrugged his shoulders and said."Just bored. So what are you doing here."

Druak didn't respond and decided to just walk away.

Both Druak and Oscar ended up walking around the academy for a few hours, this allowed Druak to learn a lot more about the academy. The most important thing was that it looked as though the upper year students had set up shops which used some kind of academic points as currency. This was incredibly important for Druak as he would need a lot of resources for what he planned to do in the future.

As Druak walked around the he began to notice that none of the shops were open, this was probably due to the applicants participating in a exam currently.

After realising he couldn't do much at the shopping area Druak decided to look around some more, Oscar following shortly behind.

As the walked around Druak had learned that this academy also had a large arena within it, which seemed to be rather important. Druak came to this conclusion as even though the application exam was going on many second and third year students were still gathered around the arena.

Curious about this arena, Druak decided to go over and explore it. This was however abruptly stopped by a flashing light, signalling the change of his examiner.

"Guess we should head back."Oscar said, slowly walking back to the main hall.

Druak looked back at the arena but and was about to follow behind Oscar, however just as he did so he noticed something that confused him. The red haired girl he had seen earlier wasn't walking towards the exam but towards the arena which he wished to go to.

Taking note of this Druak would remember to ask why this was after the next exam. But for now he had to focus on the exam.

'Why are there so many people I don't recognize from my past life. I know I was isolated from most people but I should have known about her.' Despite wanting to focus on the exam Druak couldn't get this out of his head.
