Rise of the Dragon Emperor

Hello there! I'm the author and this is my second attempt at making a novel. I have put in a lot of effort to make this novel as good as possible so that you can enjoy the novel which I have written. There will be minor mistakes within the novel, but I have tried my best to make the reading experience as best as possible. If you notice any errors or things that you do not like I will try to improve the problem as soon as possible. I hope that you enjoy my novel and continue to read it. I look forward to seeing all your comments and being able to interact with all of you :) Druak was an aspiring mage who wished to gain vast amounts of knowledge and had an incredibly amount of curiosity. Fate, however didn’t allow him to follow the path which he wished to follow. After a failed experiment Druak was sent into a coma for many years and lost his best chance to learn anything about magic. After living for 27 years Druak tragically died after being pushed off a cliff by a figure which was cloaked in black. Druak had lived a miserable life, each person he ever cared for or got close die before his eyes. Even his best friend was brutally killed in front of his eyes and Druak was powerless to stop it. 100 years after Druaks death a battle that shook the entire continent took place between a Lich king and four minor kingdoms. This battle resulted in the death of the Lich King. And the death of this Lich King seemed to set something into motion. Traveling all the way back in time Druak was once again alive, this time inside his 17-year-old body. He was finally given a second chance however, unbenounced to him he wasn’t the only one who was given a second chance. The cover of this novel does not belong to me so if the original owner wishes for me to take it down please let me know and I will be sure to change it.

Ice User

As Druak and Oscar began to walk back to the main hall Druak tried to ignore a thought that kept going through his head, but he was too curious and had to ask."Oscar who are you. I know you're from a noble family, but I've never heard much about you despite your strength." Even in Druak's past life he barely knew much about Oscar only hearing stories of how great he was before his death.

Oscar seemed slightly surprised by this question but still responded with a smile."I'm just another noble unable to follow in the footsteps of his father. I'm nothing."

Druak heard these words and despite the smile on Oscar's face he could hear a hint of sadness escape from the words Oscar spoke. Noticing this Druak decided not to ask any more questions.

'I guess everyone suffers, even the nobles.' Druak looked at Oscar nodded as if he understood that Oscar didn't want to speak anymore and they both continued their walk towards the main hall of the academy, not speaking another word.

After reaching the main hall Druak noticed that instead of there being 10 groups, which was the number of 2nd year students, there was in fact 11. Confused by this Druak decided to look at his identification card to see which group he would be in. He had assumed there would only be 10 groups due to there being 10 2nd years, but after checking his identification card he finally understood what was going on.

It seemed that anyone that hadn't had their class identified would be placed in the 11th group. This may seem normal but it was once again showing the hierarchy of nibbles in this school, this was because only noble children got their classes identified and shown to the academy so any students that were in the 11th group were non-nobles or very low ranked nobles.

After seeing the group he was in Druak waved goodbye to Oscar and began to walk to his group.

As Druak looked around, to see who was in his group, he noticed that some of the low ranked nobles were talking and it seemed as though they were panicking. Realising they might have important information, Druak decided to slowly approach them, hoping to hear what they were talking about.

"Damn it. We're going to get kicked out of the academy."

"My stupid parents, they couldn't even afford to get me a good enough teacher for me to get noticed by the academy."

"It's not fair. Why do nobles like us have to be stuck with these pathetic peasants."

After hearing this one of the nobles stepped forward, seeming to be the leader of this group, and said."I have an idea to get us into the academy. If we get rid of enough of those peasants they'll have no choice but to accept us."

As they were busy speaking it seemed that one of them had noticed Druak." Oi… peasant, what are your filthy eyes looking at, get out of my sight."

Holding in his anger Druak walked away, however he couldn't control his face, which ended up crunching up in anger as he walked away. Luckily none of the nobles noticed this.

'So you want to get rid of us. I'm not going to make it easy for you, so you better be ready.'

After hearing that the nobles were planning to get rid of the peasants, instead of scaring Druak it only motivated him more, this was a chance to release his frustration and all he had to do was wait to completely destroy their plans.

"I should probably get some people to work with me, since I don't know what this test will be."Muttering to himself Druak began to walk around, looking for anyone that seemed useful.

It seemed as though one of the applicants heard Druaks muttering as almost instantly Druak felt a tapping on his shoulder.

Turning around Druak saw the face of a young looking applicant, Druak couldn't even tell if they were a boy or a girl and it seemed as if they were way underaged to be applying for the academy. They had long blue hair that covered part of their face and seemed way too small to be a boy, but at the same time they didn't seem developed enough to be a girl either so Druak was still unsure of whether they were a girl or boy.

As Druak observed this person he noticed a small sliver of mana escape their body and it seemed similar to his.

'Their is an ice-based magic user. I'm surprised to see another one other than me here, and they aren't even a noble… I thought ice-based magic was rare.'

Druak curiosity was peaked. Another ice based magic user would be a massive help to him.

Druak had waited for the applicant before him to speak as they were the one which approached him, but after waiting for almost 5 minutes it was getting too awkward.

Realising that the person before him would initiate the conversation Druak began to speak. "Hi, I'm Druak. I noticed that you were an ice-based magic user like me and was wondering if you'd like to team up with me for this test."

Druak tried his best to speak as calmly as possible, as it seemed like the applicant before him was rather frightened. This however was a massive mistake as barely a second later Druak's legs began to freeze over and the voice of an annoyed young girl was heard."How dare you treat me like a child. I'm not some frightened child that needs you to take care of me."

Her face cheeks seemed to turn bright red as she charged toward Druak with a dagger made of ice.

'Why's she so angry, I only wanted to ask if she'd join my group.'

It seemed as though Druak had made a massive mistake. Him trying to speak calmly to not frighten her had only made her angrier. Which Druak still hadn't realised.
