CHAPTER 33 MARTIAL KNIGHT

The young bumpkin eye was opened, as he saw unbelievable things in the city. He looked on and on, and couldn't keep his eye to himself for a minute.

Garen wander on through the city. Though he didn't know any of the place, neither does he have a guide, his brain kept all the route he went through, without a single one being exude.

Garen heard the galloping of horses, coming from behind him. He made way, and looked at his back to see who it is. From behind him, a group of armoured people as well as armoured warhorses rushed out. They seem to be in an hurry.

There were riders at the front, who were more armoured compared to those at the back. And the forefront of them all was a lone rider. The riders at the lone rider's back wore blue cuirass that is shining bright, an high pauldron protect their shoulder, and an enclosed helmet kept their face from view. A blue cape, fluttered in the air at their back and they all looked gallant and mighty. Their mighty steed was fully armoured, and only it's eyes were shown. They amount to 10.

Meanwhile, the riders at the back, though were less armoured, they well we'll armoured than the bandits. They wore chain mail, and a scale armour on top, and held spears in their hands. They amount to a number of 40.

At the forefront of them all is a lone rider. Unlike the two groups beside him, the rider was dressed in sulk and wore not even a single piece armour. And only a sword is on his waist. Though less armoured and less armed, garen felt like he was the most dangerous of the all.

Surveying the group, garen concluded, that those in blue armour were martial warriors, though not sure which stage they were, and the scale armoured men were just strong men, not martial artist. As for the man, he wasn't sure what stage he his, he couldn't sense any surge of aura from him.

"who his he" garen asked a man by his side. The man looked at Garen as if it was a sin not to know who the man was. Garen scratched his head in embarrassment, and the man forgive the bumpkin.

That is "Sir, Garlanii. One of governor parlins personal knights" the man explained to garen, then left hurriedly as if it was embarrassing to be seen with such an ignorant bumpkin.

Garen was amazed. A knight should be at least a martial knight, or equivalent of that. This man then is at least a martial knight. He who hadn't seen a martial knight ever in his live was amazed. (no one is sure what the bandit boss realm is. Though some assume it is the martial knight realm.)

They group didn't stop and kept on moving quickly. Even though they had left, Garen's astonishment hasn't gone. After all, just this small group is enough to thrust the bandits hideout into a dangerous battle. Though unlikely to triumph them, they would deal large damage. Now talk less of the 20000 city guards.

Garen finally calmed himself down and kept on walking. As he kept on walking, he came to a slightly deserted street at the south east of the city. The building's in the street were made if white marble, and there were white pillars surrounding the buildings.

Most people on the street had their heads bowed, and we're walking around hurriedly. Garen looked around, and tried to ask where he his, bit they all shook of his hands and walked even faster. The peoole talk in whispers, and lower their footstep. it seem like it was blasphemy to make any loud sound.

Garen followed their footstep, and acted like they did, as he walked forward ever so slightly. He didn't know the reason why they would behave this way, but it was better for him to follow along, after all, he his but an outsider in this city.

As he kept on walking, so did the amount of people beside him reduce. Soon, the road ahead was no longer made of cobble stone, but of some unknown material, which made the road white, and it glittered in the morning sun. Statues of valiant beings and unknown creatures were erected by the side of the white glittering road. Murals show tales of giant beings riding extremely big creatures as the charge at some grotesque looking creatures.

The murals must be depiciting some legendary tales or so. Garen looked all around and the place was deserted of people. The place was as silent as a grave, and Garen turned around, ready to trace his step back. After all, there must be something untold there for the whole place to be so.

"GAREN" a seemingly divine and sacred voice called out at him. The voice was mellow and sweet, like the call of the mother he never knew. Garen, turned around, as he looked all around him. He just heard his voice being called, but could see nothing. "who are you. How did you know my name." Garen asked all flustered. How come someone knows his name. He shouldn't know anyone here in this city.

"GAREN" one again, he heard it. But this time, as garen was ready to open his soul eye to take find whoever was calling his name, he felt the eye being suppressed and like something was blocking him from opening it.

Garen felt that if he forced the soul eye open, it would deal irreversible damage to the eye. He felt as if the thing calling him isn't cool by, but somewhere far away. Luke it was communicating with his soul but be couldn't grasp where it was coming from. It always elude him. "FEAR NOT MY CHILD, COME TO ME."

Finally, after minutes, of concentrating, garen finally got where the soul calling was from. It was from beyond the glittering road.

Garen gave a deep breath, and walked closer to this seemingly divine road. He raised his first leg and placed it on the road, the followed by his second leg.

'BOOM' garen felt an explosion go off in his mind. The whole world seem to have turned upside down. The sun went down. Darkness descend on the earth, and rain of blood and flesh poured down on him.

In a manor in whiteriver. An oldman seemingly close to his twilight, gave a jolt as garen's two feet touched the seemingly divine road.

His eyes turned milky white, and a slammed his staff heavily on the ground. "CREATURES OF DARKNESS! HOW RARE YOU! IN MY PRESENCE!" loud and angry voice poured out from the elder's mouth.

The elder looked at the direction Garen went to, and flew towards that same direction.
