Garen was quite dissapointed by theittke increase in his spirit attribute. His spirit only increased by 0.1 even though he absorbed more soul than before. He figured that maybe the effect of absorbing souls on the spirit reduces over time, or it gets harder to increase the spirit as it gets higher or it could even be both."

As he was ruminating over this, he heard the sound of galloping horse and looked up to find two men coming towards him.

The two got down from their horses and Garen saw it was two of the bandits who followed the young boss that came to him.

'Am right' he thought within himself. Barnuld thinks his pride is more important than reason, and he also want his followers to assume he would do anything to right their wrong.

The two got down, and walked towards garen, while calling out loudly "Garen.... Garen, thank Merin we caught up to you. Wait up we have something olauf entrusted us to pass unto you." the two came towards him, while spouting out terrible lies.

Garen thought it was an insult to his intelligence for them to want to trick him in such away. Is their brain cells so precious they can't use a bit of it just to fabricate a believable lie.

They slowly walked closer to him, and the two of them place their hands on hilt of their sword. They must be vigilant he thought. Though he his not a martial warrior, since he didn't release a wife aura, he must have learned powerful martial arts from olauf and must be stringer than an average man. They both thought like this, since he could easily take out dusouf some days ago.

Notwithstanding, he his after all a little boy with little to zero life threatening battles. Even if he his strong he has no experience and no weapon on him. We should be able to take care of him, they both thought.

When the closet of the both was only five step away from garen, he roared out, and drew his sword. Closing the remaining gap quickly, he brought down his sword upon Garen.

Hmph Garen snorted at the little trick. He was already on his guard, and have expected such. His brain worked quickly, and formed the sword path ways, and also variations the bandit could make. Garen sidestepped, and moved a step forward. He stood right beside the bandit, which made it impossible for the bandit to change the direction of his blade, and the bandit could only watch on as it missed.

A loud screech and soundless words rolled off garen's tongue as he cast to soul shockwave spell on the first bandit.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh." the first bandit threw away his sword, and held his head in agony. He slammed his face on the ground and bowled his head downward.

The second bandit was shocked by this. How did it happen he thought. He drew his blade in one swift motion and rushed at Garen.

Garen's eye turned milky white. The bandit just so happened to look into his eye, and his whole body became cold and felt himself stiffen. Involuntarily, he raised his sword hand and placed it on his own neck.

The bandit tried his best to gain control of his body, but to no avail. He seem to be a passenger in his own body, and watched from a spectating view and his slit his own throat with a smile on his face.

Garen lips blossomed into a smile. He easily killed two full grown blood bathed men as easily as killing chickens. This is the power I crave he thought. Though he hadn't even learned much about sorcery, he his already this strong.

He clenched his hands into a fist and felt as his hearth begin to pump hot blood to his body. 'I will stop at nothing's he thought 'I will control my own destiny' for the first time in his life, he truly felt fulfilled. He was no longer confused, nor afraid neither did he feel like he would have to grovel to others. For the first time in his life, he found his purpose.

Garen got on top of his horse, and continued his journey. As for the two dead bandits, that was none of his business, neither is how barnuld would explain their missing existence among the group. He his done with the bandits for now.

Garen went on with his journey, and soon, he caught sight of other travellers like him going to whiteriver. An interesting scene took place, as he saw both bandits and merchants move together, with getting into any tussle. The northern shield army and city guards must hold quite some weight in this lands, for them to strike such fear into the hearts of this lawless men.

Garen rode all alone, as more groups or people who are alone just like him joined in, and the became a large crowd moving forward.

Soon, garen saw an unbelievable structure. A Great Wall, that stretched for only gods knows how long stood in front of him. The wall was 18feet tall, watch towers were at an impressive 29feet. Wall mounds and ramparts dotted the walls and Garen counted 35 of this impressive watch towers. Who knows how many more were at the other side of the wall.

This city must have had it's own fair share of wars. Though there seem to be an extensive repair on the wall, there were some places that were suken in most likely by catapult or trebuchet. Some part of the wall had turned purple mostly due to being soaked in blood. Though he was quite a fair distance from the wall, garen could hear the wails of unresigned souls even though his soul eye was closed.

A middle aged man who was with five other men saw the dumbfounded look and the boy and said with a laugh "hehehehe welcome to whiteriver. The unconquerable city."
