CHAPTER 3 - lazy human beings

the bright morning sun shined through the two windows of my small room. rubbing my eyes my the back of my hand, I sat on my bed, I stretched and yawned. I walked towards the window and admired the garden full of flowers. they were very beautiful and attractive, I could look at them all day. they always blossom and they are so free. they don't worry about anything, I wish I was as free as them. I sigh.

"beginning of a new day. Saturdays are just so special." I said smiling. "beginning the new day with a smile."

I walked towards my wardrobe and wore a T-shirt and a skirt. my wardrobe only consisted of seven clothes, two for Sundays, two for occasions, and three for normal casual wear, maybe that's why I'm not like other girls who contemplate on what to wear, to me they have too much clothes.

I walked out of my room and went downstairs towards the kitchen prepare breakfast, I made some sandwiches, egg pancakes, and rice rolls. I set the table and arrange the food on it. then I covered them since no one will wake up any moment from now and if it gets cold, I'm inviting another set of trouble to my self. I sigh after thinking of how it will be.

I opened the refrigerator see if there was anything I could prepare with the ingredients but we were almost out of supplies. why didn't I realise this when I was making breakfast? I looked at the clock, it was almost 8:00, they usually woke up by 9:00. "lazy human beings". I thought.

I need to be fast. if Mrs Zhiang sees this, she will be freaked out. I wonder the type of punishment I'll get this time around.

I quickly ran to my room to carry some money. Mrs Zhiang usually gave me money every week for groceries which was usually not enough. when I confronted her, she slapped me to the extent that I fell on the floor. she told me that I was a thief and that's why I wanted more, since that day, I never dared to complain again. I usually used my savings from school to make the money complete, because if the grocery is small, she'll call me a thief so I had no other choice.

I quickly went out of the house and stopped a taxi after almost spending 10 minutes standing. stupid taxis, they don't know what'll befall me if I'm late. I had only some minutes left.

luckily, I was arrived at home by 8:57, I'm still thanking God. I quickly began to unpack the groceries into the refrigerator. when I was done, I looked around the kitchen to make sure that it was clean.

everywhere was clean and there was nothing left to do. I walked towards the dinning table and looked at the breakfast I made, I felt I should prepare more. if it was too small, only god knows what I will face.

so I went to the kitchen and made six fan tuan and four Ci fan. I set it on the table and when I looked at the breakfast I made, it was satisfactory. I glanced at my watch, it was already 9:15am, and nobody has woken up. so I went to the laundry room to see if there was any clothes for me to wash. on reaching there, my there was a pile of clothes there that were impatiently waiting for me to set them free from their horrible smell. well, the pile of clothes were expected because it was always like that. you'll wonder how many clothes they wear in just one day. I sigh and start my laundering.
