Vernox started sweating profusely as the mysterious voice hasn't responded to him. He looked around the room and he didn't sense anything off, and that's when he realized that the voice he heard sounded close to him.

"What the fuck is going on?"

He mumbled as he put his sword away. He looked up and wondered whether it was God that was calling him.

{You should have seen how funny you looked just now John. And no God's not calling you...not yet.}

He looked as he heard the voice and he asked.

"Who are you?" he asked in a demanding tone. It was clear from his voice that he was annoyed. Is this person toying with him.

{Hehehe... I am the system you fool}

The weird voice that called itself the system answered.

"The system?, Don't play with me...I am a demon Lord" he said in an angry tone trying to figure out what this person's deal was.

{Yes, yes, I know. Demon Lord...John..haha..}

The weird system laughed again as it called his human name. It was clear that this system was mocking him.

Hearing his name, Vernox started remembering all the things that he suffered as a human. He doesn't know why but only bad memories flooded into his head. Probably because he didn't have a good memory to begin with.

He left his memories as he began conversing with the system.

"So!, how are you talking!. Computers don't talk" he asked as while he was on Earth, he was 100% sure that his computer didn't talk to him.

{How dare you call me a computer. You stupid boy. I am a throne of God. I was tasked to follow and assist you in this world}

The system retorted sharply as it was being compared to a lifeless machine.

"You know!, for a system, you do talk a lot" he said as he walked to his bed while tieing the towel in his hand round his waist.

{It wasn't my idea. The only thing he said was that he wanted to help and nurture you by giving you something that you are used to. Unfortunately, the only thing that you are good at and used to is games}

Vernox could tell that the system was annoyed even if it has a kind of robotic voice.

"Oh!, so he created the system like a game"

{Exactly}

"It's actually quite nice that he knows that I like games"

He smiled as he wondered what was his purpose in this world. His thoughts came together and he asked the system.

"Why is he doing all this though?. On Earth, I heard that God has reasons for doing everything and everything has a purpose. What's mine?"

He laid down flat on the bed while reasoning the state that he's in. It was almost impossible for any random person to survive in this world.

He was confused as to why he was put here, why he was only given quarter of his powers and why the hell is the storyline following the game.

{You have no right to question God's choices John. But if you ask me, I don't know. He sent me to do something and I'm doing it}. The system spoke nonchalantly.

{But I can tee you this though. This world has existed even before you were born. The person that created that game was probably inspired by God for his ideas. Although Earth is older than this world, this world's beings are more powerful}

Of course he has already known this by now as he has experienced it.

He stared at the ceiling of his room that was painted a white colour.

"So what's the plan now?" he asked the system as he has some plans but he wants to know what God's plans are first.

After all God was the one who blessed him so...yeah, of course.....him first.

{The current plan is to be giving you missions occasionally depending on situations that are occuring. And if you succeed in completing those missions, a little portion of your original power will be given to you.}

"So basically every time I complete a mission my strength will increase?"

{Yes!}

The system answered him while the screen shifted to another part of it which showed another section.

[MISSIONS:

Current missions - None

Attempted missions - None ]

"Wait!, where was it?. I'm very sure that I didn't see it before"

He looked at the screen in front of him in amazement. He knew of the missions in the he but it was an icon so he thought it would be the same here.

{Due to the special situations like the goblins at Letchers village, you will be given missions by me.}

{Each mission is rewarded either by points or by items. But the rewards are mostly in points}

Vernox seems to ponder a little about the missions.

"Ohh. I get it now"

He nodded at the words of the system. In his head, the system was now his right hand Man.

"Why can't I see you anyway"

He looked around and noticed that he was a lone in his room. He started to think that he was going insane.

{I will eventually be able to come in Person to you. I will get more realistic as you level up the system more. There would be a chance to get a good reward for leveling up early}

The system spoke in it's usual nonchalant voice. After it said that Vernox then finally noticed that the voice sounded like a robot a little as he conversed with it.

"Wait!, leveling up early?"

{Sigh...If You level up in a short time after you got to level 2 and upgraded to level 3 there will be rewards for that also. So work hard.}

"Wow that's cool."

"Anyways, should I just call you system or..."

he said casually as he kept looking at the roof of his room.

{Just call me Ariel}

"Ariel?, you're a she?" he asked as he guessed that the seemingly robotic voice must be male.

{Yes, don't let the voice deceive you. Like I said, the more you upgrade, the more real I become} Ariel said with the same tone.

(Note: We are going to be calling the system 'Ariel' instead of 'system' that we normally call it)

"Sigh...I guess I should stick to my normal schedule for today since I have no missions"

He sighed tiredly as he sat up on the bed.

{Yes. Anytime you need me just call my name}

Ariel said in a hurried tone.

"Aren't you supposed to follow and be with me?" he asked confused.

{I have other things to do in heaven, but whenever you need me, I'll come} she answered.

Vernox went to the bathroom after the conversation ended and had his bath. He then came back to his room and put on his royal attire.

He wore a tight black top which revealed his perfect packs. He also wore pants which looked like the ones ninjas wear. He then downed his red robe and he looked like a demon Lord more now.

Vernox touched his red horns on his head as he's not used to having them. According to the game information the horns is a source of demons power, although he doesn't know if it's like that in this world.

"I guess I'll go to the Abyss first for today"

With that he activated his dimensional transport through his mind and he vanished from the room.
