Too Late
I'd gone to the cemetery in Salvus City earlier that day. I sat near the tombstone of my father and cried. The grave didn’t contain his body, for it was never found after he had disappeared, but we had marked a space in his honor. Mom was the one who told us the news.
I knew what it was like to lose a parent, but realizing I had done it to the one I had grown close to was heartbreaking. I poured out my heart into the stone in the name of my father, but I knew it was of no use. I had to figure out what turns to take on my own. I might not have known right then, but I knew I would find a way. It took me time, but it was clear that it would be better for me to go back to my old ways. That was why I had told Addison about my departure.
