The Demon's Will ~ Leviathan

I woke up in my room, in the old tavern? I stood up, and looked around. I thought this place was closed after I left. Glad to see that nothing changed, I turned to the door, but after two steps, I stopped. I felt another presence in the room, and it wasn't a nice one. The air suddenly got colder, and the bird that sat on the branch outside the window was....frozen? I sighed in extreme boredom.

"What do you want now father?" I asked, not bothering to turn and face him. "I thought I told ya I didn't want to return home, not after what you said. And besides, it's not like I have a life left on Mizeareigh."

".....son, I know I haven't exactly been fair to you-"

"Not exactly fair!?" I cut in.

"I'd say you haven't been fair at all! Since we found out I was half a vampire you've done nothing but call me a disgrace and a disappointment."

"If you'd just listen, Leviathan-"

"No, I will not listen to you, I've had enough of your nonsense for centuries. I'm living my life, and it is pretty good without you in it.

My father snapped, almost setting the room on fire.

"LEVIATHAN LESAUVAGE, YOU LISTEN TO ME , OR I WILL MAKE YOU LISTEN BY FORCE!" He roared. "I know that lately I haven't been fair, ever been fair for that matter. But I realized that it's not your fault who you are."

"About time really." I cut in. "You might wanna cut the flames father, Spectre might not be so happy if you burn down her tavern again."

"Leviathan..."

"Right. Sorry, continue the explaining."

"As I was saying, I've also started to realize I may not be fit for leading the demons for much longer."

"Oh I see where this is going." I said. "You want me, your disappointment of a son, not even pureblood demon, to lead the demons of Mizeareigh?"

"I realize that you may not want to, but as my eldest child, it must be you."

"But why me? Why can't my brother Zachriel take the role? He's a pureblood, unlike me."

"It had occurred to me, but your brother is not suitable for it. He lacks the leadership skills that the role requires. You don't. And one day, whether you like it or not, you will become the leader." Then he disappeared in a flame, and my head cleared. I started regaining consciousness, and I woke up for real this time.

"Agh my head. What happened?" I asked nobody in particular.

"Stradivarius threw a knife at you and you couldn't dodge in time. It's gonna scar by the way." Lykfilia said with relief in her voice, as if she was happy to see me alive. Then she stood up from the bed, and went downstairs, probably to get Spectre.

A few moments later, Spectre returned with a bottle of something and dinner on a plate.

"Glad to see you awake." She said, putting the bottle and plate on the nightstand.

"First Lyka, now you? Why are you so surprised that I'm still alive?"

"Well, to be fair, it's been a week since the incident occurred."

"WHAT?!?"

"Yep. A week. Just be glad Lykfilia decided to be a healer and not something else, 'cause I sure as hell can't do healing spells." She said to me.

"Oh I am. But why did you come? I know you still hate me, so why not let me die?" I asked her, knowing that the answer would probably not surprise me.

"I didn't do this for you, I did this for Lyka, and so Reyna wouldn't lose faith in the "holy" trio" she replied.

As I said before, not a surprising answer.

She stood up and went to leave the room, but stopped.

"Leviathan?" She asked.

"Yes?"

"Did your father come to you in your dreams?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact he did. Why do you ask?" I replied.

"Well because uhm, there's a fire message on the wall, in Mizechz. It says 'One day, whether you like it or not, you will become the leader.' Was he trying to make you accept his offer of being the leader of the demons on Mizeareigh again?"

"Yes. I declined, like always, and he left. I had no idea that he decided to mark the wall as well." I told her.

"Oh well. He needs to stop doing that, there is only so much that the walls can handle." She turned around, walking out of the room. "Oh and Leviathan?" I heard her shout from the hallway.

"Yes?" I shouted back.

"I found a spell to break the memory block, If you want me to, I'll try it tomorrow."

"Sure." I said, sat up and decided to try the food she brought. It was actually decent, accompanied by a nice bottle of ginger ale.
