Jace and I took our place 20 feet apart from each other. We both eyed each other then Jace raised his hand and a 10 foot long burning whip appeared as he rushed me and attacked with his flaming whip, but at the same time I whipped my hand at the burning whip.

I had activated string Gu and stopped his burning whip from hitting me, but my string caught flame and started burning. Jace smiled raising his hand again about strike at me again, but just before he was about to land an attack

But it was too late, a metal blade came out of his stomach and a wooden one rested on his neck. I had jackal run over as soon as he had engaged me. A sneak attack can always end a match before it begins.

Jace swung his flaming whip at jackal but he only hit his cloak that was fire proof. As he was struggling I had jackal let go of the blade and then stab his claws into his back.

Jace[aaaaaahhhhhhhhh]

Crim[ Surrender Jace your already critically injured and poisoned. ]

But he acted as if I said nothing and continued to use his flame whip on jackal. I then had jackal deepen his claws into his back. I then reactivated string Gu and pulled out the blade that was stabbed into him causing him to bleed a lot.

Jace[ aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh]

Crim[ If this continues his death will not be my fault. I have already asked him to surrender]

I said looking at John who now had a dead serious look

John[ this was supposed to be a one on one match.]

Crim[ It clearly is a one on one match though]

John[ then how do you explain that]

He said while pointing at jackal, but before I could say anything

???[ that's enough John, stop trying to argue with a student, and forfeit the match already.]

A tall slender man with long black hair and a beard to match approached. Everyone did a small bow including me

Everyone[ we welcome supreme elder Hal]

This man was one of the two rank 4 supreme elders and a large pillar that supports our clan. No one here can really question his authority

John[ b...but great elder Hal this was supposed to be a honest match, and he clearly had help]

Hal looked at John with no expression and raised his head a little to look down at him

Hal[ you think headmasters noose oath Gu can be broken so easily. If I'm not wrong that "person" helping Crim Is not a person but a puppet. No to be exact a marionette. Isn't that right young one]

He looked at me

Crim[ Supreme elder is wise, yes this person is a marionette. I got extremely lucky and some how managed to refine marionette Gu.]

Hal[ it is our clans blessings that such a thing happened. You see John he has just been using the Gu he possesses therefore he broke no rule.]

John clearly wanted to say more but in front of Hal he could say nothing

John[ then the mera branch surrenders]

Jace was then taken away to be healed while everyone went to Hal to speak with him, and I did the same which caught a few people off guard.

Hal[ is there something you need child?]

Crim[ Yes supreme elder, I had a deal with John if I won he must get me a refinement materials and enough of it to cover half of the frenzy needle bee gu I caught.]

John[ my family will of course keep our word. Just say what material you want and I will have it delivered to your family.]

Crim[ That's the issue though, how can you give me materials that's half of the cost of my frenzy needle bees. When you don't know how many frenzy needle bees I caught?]

Hal[ then show us I'm curious too.]

With that said I emptied out jackals pockets. I had caught 45 rank 1 frenzy needle bee gu and 12 rank 2 frenzy needle bee gu. If I were to turn in all of them I would receive tens of thousands of points. I would win the whole competition, but the competitions rewards could not compare with my branch's rewards for turning in the Gu.

Hal[ impressive you truly are a blessing to our clan, but their just one thing that confuses me. I hope you can explain it to me]

Crim[ just ask and I'll try my best to answer ]

Hal[ I'm curious as to why you'd like a refinement material instead of primeval essence stones or some Gu. Most people your age would normally pick one of those two, but you were not blinded by greed why is that?]

Crim[ you think too highly of myself supreme elder, but that question is easy to answer. I am but a c grade talent I know even with my branch's help I'll never be able to pass rank 2. So I wish to be helpful in another way. I want to learn the art of refinement, but this path is not easy. It is very costly and even if I had the funds finding enough of a certain refinement material might not be possible. That's why I'd like to have a refinement material too study, and because of today's event I found a material that caught my eye.]

Hal[ I see..... you are impressive child. Most people would loose themselves to their emotions in your place, but you act so mature. So tell me what refinement material caught your eye?]

Crim[ that one right there]

I pointed behind him where the group of Gu masters that went to deal with the needle queen had returned. With a lot of them carrying what used to be the frenzy needle bees hive.

I knew that after they delt with the needle queen they'd bring back the hive. After all its not only edible food but a delicacy.

My plan had originally been to capture all the frenzy needle bee Gu and then take the hive, but the needle queen screwed up that plan.

Thankfully the mera branch challenged me to a dual. Pursuing refining that was just a lie, steeped tea gu and liquid Gu assure me of a smooth cultivation. What I really wanted was the frenzy needle bee's hive, because it's a food path material.

With it as a main material I can refine some of my food path Gu, and with all the frenzy needle bees that I turn into my branch. I'll have enough primeval essence stones and any other material I need can be bought off players shop.

Once that was done I turned in two of the Gu for about 600 more points. With that I am guaranteed first in my class. I could care less for the small amount of primeval stones for first, I simply want to be first in my class to pick my " second" Gu. I then went up to my mother

Mother[ crimy you did very good. Now as for the the frenzy needle bees]

Crim[ I turned in two so that I win first place in my class. As for the rest of course I will submit them all to our household.]

With that my mother's smile grew

Crim[ But that's not why I came up to you mother.]

Mother[ what do you need?]

Crim[ Earlier I fought a bear that was using a Gu. Once I killed it I managed to capture the Gu, but it's rank 2. I won't be able to subdue it with my will, so I was hoping that you refine it for me.]

Mother[ I can do that but crimy a rank 2 Gu would take to much primeval sea essence to activate.]

Crim[ No mother this Gu won't, if I'm not wrong its a strength path Gu, but if it does take to much primeval sea essence as you said I will just submit it to our household, but I would like to try it first. So mother please.]

I handed over the flea covered in sleeping amber. My mother said no more and took the Gu.

Crim[ Oh and mother one more thing, about my reward for turning in the frenzy needle bees, besides primeval essence stones I'd like some animals.]
