Reverend Insanity: Experiment N.001

Two men are standing in a windowless office dimly lit by a small lamp on the ceiling. "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" "That was the last group we had!" "They were supposed to be top-of-the-line superhumans. Demons in human skin!" "How does this make any sense!" ~ Scientist Port Till(the head scientist of 'Interdimensional Travel') "If I don't produce results soon! then I'm going to be 'fired'!" ~ In this business 'fired' was code for getting wiped from history and his head was starting to develop bold spots. "U-um Sir. If I may interject." ~ Sim Art his Assistant spoke up. "What!" ~ One could hear the clear rage in Port's voice. The Assistant swallowed and loosened his necktie ~ "Technically that wasn't our last group..."

The Predator

{Interdimensional Travel}

In the interrogation room of interdimensional travel, Port Till sipped on his coke as he asked, "Let me get this straight. We have a mute chef desperate to regain his sense of taste, three... shall we say, uniquely-abled individuals, a musician with negative talent, and a group of four bank robbers?"

"Roughly so, Those 9 would be our trump card for getting our hands on your lab" Her voice was smug, showing how proud she was of her plan.

Port Till couldn't help but roll his eyes. "And what about 001?"

For a moment, there was a profound silence before she asked, "How did you learn about 001?" Her tone conveyed confusion and surprise at the unexpected turn of events.

"Don't act innocent. You were the ones who dispatched those ten failures. How could you not have knowledge about 001?" Port Till replied, his voice laced with suspicion.

"I'm well aware of 001. What baffles me is how he managed to infiltrate your laboratory. Evol Ution, explain the situation to me!"

Evol Ution quickly ran back into the room, with sweat rolling down his back, replying, "Yes Mother?"

"Who told you to send 001 to Interdimensional Travel?" She asked with a stern tone.

Evol Ution hesitated before responding, "Wasn't it you who directed me to send 001 to Interdimensional Travel?"

"And when exactly did I issue that order?" Her voice grated through the phone, her frustration palpable.

Evol Ution swallowed nervously before answering, "You gave the order after you spoke with him. You said, 'send him to Interdimensional Travel'."

There was a prolonged silence, followed by the sound of furious typing. Another lengthy pause ensued, and then her voice erupted with anger. "SHIT!"

~ "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! Damn you 001! Curse yo..."

Before Mother could continue her rant, Port Till interjected with a hint of smugness in his voice. "Excuse me for interrupting, but you still haven't explained exactly who this 001 is."

Mother took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

After a long pause, "Well since we're going to be working together I might as well tell you. 001 is essentially the benefactor of the Awakening Center. We utilized his blood as a starting point for our research. Prior to his discovery, the Awakening Center was the most underfunded laboratory."

"It all began in the depths of the Himalayan Mountains when a search party was in pursuit of the legendary Abominable Snowman. They had just discovered tracks leading to a cave and were overjoyed at the prospect of finally finding the creature. They quickly called in reinforcements, just in case the Snowman proved to be more formidable than anticipated. However, they were wholly unprepared for what they were about to encounter."

~ "A man with long black hair, dressed in a white fur coat that reached down to his feet. He wore large white boots with padding on the bottom, and he sat on a white fur chair while drinking red wine."

~ "But this wasn't just any white fur coat - it was made from the Abominable Snowman. His boots were fashioned from its feet, and his chair was likely constructed from its family. And as for the red wine he was drinking! It was the creature's blood!"

~ "When questioned about why he would do something so heinous to such a majestic creature, he replied 'As a hunter, it's my sworn duty to hunt!' he then pulled out a red feather that was on fire and admired it for a few minutes."

~ "To make a long story short, the researchers asked him if he would be interested in awakening, and so he came to our lab." ~ Mother paused, thinking whether or not she should continue.

~ "He has the ability to kill you with fear just by looking at you, which was labeled the predator, it is one of the abilities he had before joining the awakening center, oddly enough he wasn't violent back then."

She then sighed and muttered under her breath. ~ "They should have killed him right then and there!"

She then took in another deep breath, ~ "After his first awakening, it was believed to be a failure. But he insisted on continuing, and underwent a second awakening. This made his power - 'the predator' - much, much stronger. He had gained the ability to exert control over humans like a ghost, making him even more dangerous."

~ "Using his power puts an incredible strain on his body. After the last time he used it, his legs stopped working. It was believed that he was pacified, but it seems the reports were wrong."

~ "For the past six years he had been reading book after book, studying humans intensely, like a hunter studying their prey. He has been learning how to be more efficient with his power, and now we have sent him to a world where he can practice his knowledge to his heart's content."
