Reverend Insanity - Herald of Heavens

Losing your home can be painful, but being able to find another place to call home can be comforting. This is the story of a wanderer lost on the border between worlds looking for a place to call home, and he will do everything to protect his new home. With a pact established between the two parties, the character is now the conqueror and leader of the expansion of the Gu World, he is the Herald of the Heavens! --------------- Hi everyone, I finally finished the script and the basis of how I want my story to work. And thanks to this, I can guarantee that the story will be consistent and will not be dropped, as I already have the beginning and the end of it, and a little bit of the journey already established. As the name suggests, this will be a story where the MC was chosen as the harbinger of the heavens. The main theme of the story is the MC traveling between other worlds and conquering them in the name of the Will of the Heavens to expand the 'Gu Universe' (Yes, Universe. It's not just one world anymore. hehe...) Inevitably he will build an 'Empire' or large-scale organization to deal with changes in the world. So expect him to think more about the collective than the individual. Regarding the MC's personality, because of the theme and how I want the story to go, the MC will have a gentler and calmer personality. Think of him as a philosopher seeking his wisdom. I based his personality as a mix of some venerable philosophers I've read, like Thieving Heavens and Green Lotus, Seneca and Diogenes. ------------- Well... that's it! I won't spoil the story for you anymore, so go check it out if you're interested. Happy reading and good luck on the battlefields.

An Incredible Suggar Mommy!

--------------------

Today's Song is: Fall Out Boy - The Last Of The Real Ones

--------------------

Soon the awakening ceremony came to an end and the elder began to lead everyone out of the cave while informing them of what they had to do from tomorrow onwards.

"Go back to your house and get a good night's rest, because tomorrow morning will be your first day at the Gu academy." As soon as everyone had left the pavilion, the elder said his last words before sending them home.

Suo Bai and Fang Zheng returned home and were immediately greeted by their aunt and uncle, who wore big, fake smiles on their faces.

"Fang Yuan, Fang Zheng. You two have finally arrived, tell me how your ceremony went?" Dong Tu asked them with a calm smile, it was obvious that he already knew the results of the ceremony.

Knowing his uncle's thoughts like an open book, Suo Bai simply put his fists together in a traditional Chinese salute as he recounted how the ceremony had gone.

"Ohoho! I knew you're had the talent to be a Gu master. It seems we've taken good care of you." The aunt replied while using the sleeve of her cloak that went down to her wrists to cover the smile on her face.

"Yes, yes. You're really haven't let us down, you're certainly our pride." Uncle said as he nodded slightly and stroked his beard.

"I appreciate the compliments from the uncles, but I'm extremely tired and wanted to ask permission to get some sleep." Suo Bai flashed his characteristic charismatic smile as he asked to be excused to his room.

The uncle raised his eyebrow slightly, as he wanted to talk (manipulate) a little more with the twins. But he reluctantly nodded and sent them straight to their rooms to rest, even though Dong Tu was quite eager to pull Fang Zheng to his side and fill his head with flowery words.

Fang Zheng, who was just standing to one side listening to everything, decided to follow his brother and go to his room too, since he hadn't had a good night's sleep last night because of the nightmares, despite Suo Bai's help.

As soon as the twins left the room, the uncles immediately wiped the smiles off their faces as they went back to talking to each other.

"Who would have thought that idiot younger brother would be the real A-grade talent." Dong Tu said with a little apprehension in his voice.

"We spend so much time looking after and pampering the wrong sibling... What if the younger one holds a grudge? What are we going to do, darling?" Dong Yue asked nervously.

"Actually, this could be good for us, Fang Yuan is very intelligent and cunning, he certainly knew about our plan from the start, but Fang Zheng is still naive and ignorant, maybe we can use this to our advantage." Dong Tu held his chin as he thought.

"But how do we do that? We treated the brothers differently on purpose, what if now Fang Zheng decides to take revenge for everything we've done to him?" Dong Yue began to throw her negative thoughts at her husband.

"Heh, Fang Zheng is still very soft, all we need to do is be gentle with him. He's a child who lost his parents early, but unlike Fang Yuan who was forced to mature early, Fang Zheng desperately wants a family, so we just have to be that family he wants so much." Dong Tu snorted as he dismissed his wife's concerns.

"Oh, that's right. Ever since he was a child, Fang Zheng has been in love with the servant Shen Cui, we just need to use that to dissuade him." Dong Yue had one of his few moments when he used his brain.

The two continued discussing their plans and ways of dealing better with the twins without incurring the wrath of the clan on them, since the younger brother is now a major and important asset of the clan.

...

As soon as Suo Bai arrived in his room, he closed the door and sat on the bed while he analyzed his Nexus earnings.

"Nexus, give me a basic summary of the gains we've made today with this little experiment, and how is the aperture study going?" Suo Bai closed his eyes as he argued with Nexus.

[I managed to gather some very useful information and established some possible theories about the cultivation of this world]

[First of all - I can say with complete confidence that almost 80% to 90% of everything in the Gu world is made almost entirely of Dao Marks]

"Oh? That's interesting, but it's not that difficult to deduce this on your own by understanding how the world works." Suo Bai almost already knew about this, so it wasn't too surprising.

[Yes, while analyzing and simulating about the Moon Orchid I realized that everything is nothing more than Dao Marks organized in a specific form]

[When I devoured the Moon Orchid I had access to its Dao Marks, which opened up a whole new range of possibilities for us]

[After thoroughly studying its structure and how its Dao Marks are organized, I'm confident enough that I can recreate one myself, as long as I have enough Dao Marks]

"That's... incredible! So you mean you can refine anything as long as you have enough Dao Marks?" This was a pleasant surprise for Suo Bai, he was dizzy just imagining the possibilities of such an ability.

[Yes, but it has some limitations. I need to have studied the item thoroughly and added it to the database, not to mention the number of Dao Marks equivalent to the item]

[And I can only replicate the Moon Orchid because it's a very simple material with a very simple organization of Dao Marks. To study items of higher levels takes more time and effort, right now I'm trying to study the Spring Autumn Cicada in its aperture, but I feel like I'm not progressing at all, its Dao mark structure is too complex for me at the moment]

[Of course, if you allow me, I can devour the Cicada and speed up the process much more. I believe I'll be able to study the Cicada completely in just under two years]

"No, we can't lose Cicada, it's dangerous for our plan. What would be an alternative for you to speed up the study of higher-level items?" Suo Bai held his chin and asked.

[Expanding my database is the most viable solution. As long as I have a larger amount of data, I can derive it more quickly]

[I'm currently very layman about the concepts and rules of the Gu world, as long as we keep studying and learning more about the Gu world, I'm sure I'll be able to be of more help]

"I see, so we just have to carry on with what we've planned." Suo Bai nodded in understanding and continued. "By the way, where and how should we get more Dao Marks? Is just devouring Gu worms and materials enough?"

[Yes, devouring materials and Gu Worms with an abundance of Dao Marks is more than enough. But if it were possible, the ideal would be to devour the Dao marks in the environment, but the resistance would be too great and we couldn't bear it]

"All right, that's good enough." Suo Bai waved his hand. "What about the aperture study?"

[The study is still in its early stages, I haven't managed to gather anything useful, but I'm making a little progress in studying the movement of its primitive essence]

"I expected it, after all, we've just woken up the aperture." Suo Bai sighed.

After spending some more time debating with Nexus, Suo Bai felt the weight of having spent the previous night awake. With heavy eyes, Suo Bai went to bed early and slept for the rest of the day.

...

It was late afternoon, the moon was already rising in the sky and the nocturnal animals were starting to come out to begin their routine.

Suo Bai walked through the dark streets of the small village quietly, trying not to attract anyone's attention.

Without anyone noticing him, Suo Bai walked out of the north gate of the village, obscured by the natural cloak of night darkness.

Leaving the village, Suo Bai walked as if he were in his own home and confidently followed the path. It wasn't long before he moved away from the village and into a slightly denser forest.

Suo Bai stopped for a moment when he reached a clearing and looked up at the sky. High in the sky was the full moon in all its splendor, casting a natural light on Suo Bai's path.

The moon, as if to respond to Suo Bai's gaze, illuminated the treetops around the clearing and created a small shadowy reflection on the ground that pointed in a specific direction.

Suo Bai nodded his head in thanks and followed the indicated path as he spoke. "It's really good to be loved by the heavens..."

Continuing on his way, Suo Bai arrived near a large area of bamboo grove, this time Suo Bai didn't even have to look at his sky to receive his answer.

Suddenly a calm, serene wind approached the bamboo grove and opened up a small path, slightly pushing the bamboos apart.

Passing through the open path in the bamboo groves, Suo Bai came across a small stream that ran down the mountain.

After a while, he could finally hear the sound of water crashing down, like a waterfall.

Approaching the sound, Suo Bai could finally see a small waterfall. Without delay, Suo Bai approached the waterfall and could see the entrance behind it, a crack that looked like the entrance to a cave.

Suo Bai was overjoyed as he looked at the place and recognized it almost immediately from the description in the book.

"It's really here, having a Suggar Mommy like that is really a luxury." Suo Bai smiled slightly at his little joke.

[It seems that the heavy rain of the previous day has brought this waterfall back to life!]

"The heavens really don't score points without us!" Suo Bai then started heading towards the crack in the waterfall.

"And off we go!" Suo Bai approached the crack and dove headfirst into it while being doused by the cold water of the waterfall. He was drenched as he stared into the darkness that was the beginning of this cave.

The cave was completely dark and devoid of light as soon as Suo Bai entered it. All he could do now was move forward quickly so that he could reach the end of the cave.

A few meters later, Suo Bai finally saw a glimmer of light, the red light he had expected to see here in this inheritance.

He continued his walk through the cave towards the source of the red light and soon saw the wide entrance to the inheritance. Suo Bai was soon greeted by a huge room glowing in a dim red light.

Looking around, all he could see were the mossy walls with various vines and creepers scattered around the room along with a few wilted flower buds and some empty pots and a pile of human-shaped bones lying in the center of the room's wall.

Suo Bai crouched down picking up these vines knowing full well what they were all about and began instructing Nexus to devour his Dao Marks while he studied them to add to the database.

[Starting simulated experiments with - Wine Sack Flower Gu...]

[Wine Sack Flower Gu - Added to the Database!]

[Starting simulated experiments with - Rice Bag Grass Gu...]

[Rice Bag Grass Gu - Added to the Database!]

Quickly the vines, vines and flowers began to disappear from the red room as they were all converted into Dao Marks by the Nexus while it added them to its database.

"Well, now we have four items that we can replicate!" Suo Bai was happy to see the progress of the Nexus database.

After all the grasses that were in the way were absorbed by Nexus, the Photo-Audio Gu that was hidden between them suddenly activated and started playing the video about the truth of what happened 300 years ago.

Suo Bai simply ignored what was being shown on the opposite wall and took the Liquor Worm in his hand, but didn't refine it, he made Nexus devour it and add it to his database like the others.

Suo Bai then headed towards the Flower Wine Monk's pile of bones.

Suo Bai took the bag of 15 primordial stones from the pile of bone and stared at them curiously as he stood up again and instructed Nexus to devour at least 3 to add them to his database.

[Sir, there's been a problem!]

"What happened?" Suo Bai was alerted by Nexus's warning.

[It's about the Primordial Stones, Sir!]

"Oh... what about them?" Suo Bai relaxed a little more and asked.

[During the devouring process I ended up noticing that they are not formed from Dao Marks like the other resources in the world]

"Now that's interesting. So what are they made of?" Suo Bai was really curious this time. After all, the primordial stones are the main cultivation resource for all the Gu Masters in the world, and such a resource not having Dao Marks both makes sense and is contradictory.

[They have a composition similar to your primordial energy at their aperture, only more condensed. They are made from the condensation of wild primordial energy that permeates the world's environment]

Suo Bai put a primitive stone in his hand and felt it as he said this. "So you mean that these stones are the condensation of pure energy in the world?"

[Exactly]

"And can you replicate the process and transform the primitive energy of the environment or even mine into primitive stones?" Suo Bai asked, looking concentratedly at the primordial stone in his hand.

[I don't know, sir. I need more data and studies on primitive energy]

"Mm..." Suo Bai held his chin with his hand and thought, "What if you could study an item that could naturally accomplish this feat?" Suo Bai asked, remembering the main Gu of this inheritance.

[If you are referring to the 'Heavenly Essence Treasure Lotus', then it might be possible. But if you already had such a Gu in your possession, wouldn't it be better to use the Gu itself rather than spend time studying it?"]

"Heh. You never know, Nexus." Suo Bai smiled slightly as he put away the primordial stones.

With all this done, Suo Bai approached the wall where the video was playing and prepared to demolish the place in order to acquire the rest of the inheritance.

"Nexus, is it possible for you to devour this wall?" Suo Bai had a concentrated look on his face as he observed the wall that blocked his path to the rest of the estate...

[Unfortunately not, sir]

[As I said before, the resistance of environmental Dao Marks is much greater than that of separate items]

"But can you push or influence the Dao Marks away from that wall enough to weaken it?" Suo Bai suggested his idea.

[It's possible that I'll insert some Dao Marks that I have stored and slightly influence the environment, but you'll have to act quickly before the Dao Marks in the environment automatically rearrange themselves]

"All right, do it!" Suo Bai hadn't brought any items to dig with, so he planned to use his own hands.

[Get ready, sir!]

Suo Bai positioned himself and waited for Nexus to act. In an instant, the slightly reddish wall of earth in front of him took on a darker hue, as if it were wet.

[Now!]

Suo Bai acted quickly and used his fingers as claws and started digging into the wall. When he touched the wall he felt as if he were digging in wet clay and his hands went in easily without much effort.

Suo Bai quickly managed to open an entrance large enough to fit him in before the earth wall returned to normal. In the end, his hands were completely dirty with wet clay and his nails were clogged with dirt, but he didn't care too much.

As soon as the passage opened, Suo Bai could see a long tunnel sloping diagonally downwards with the same red glow as the first inheritance room had. He then moved on through the tunnel path.

Finally arriving at the end of the tunnel after a few long minutes of walking, Suo Bai saw a huge round stone blocking his path in front of him, anyone arriving here would think it was the end of the inheritance, or that there was some test and would be confused thinking.

But already knowing what this was about, Suo Bai simply crouched down next to the round stone where there was a small damp spot and started digging at the spot as he saw the appearance of the Earth Treasury Flower Gu buried beneath it.

With care and grace, Suo Bai began to peel the petals of the Earth Treasury Flower Gu like someone peeling an onion. And after some time carefully removing the petals so as not to hurt the Gu inside, he finally saw the White Boar Gu resting on the flower bud.

"Devour the White Boar Gu along with the Earth Treasury Flower Gu, Nexus." Suo Bai asked as he rose from his crouching position.

"Is it possible to repeat the same process with this stone, Nexus?" Looking at the huge round stone, Suo Bai thought it might not be possible, and Nexus confirmed it for him.

[No need, sir. This rock was created and placed here by external means and is not connected to the Dao Marks of the environment, I can easily devour this rock]

"Oh! That's good, do it then." Suo Bai touched it with his right hand and instantly saw the huge stone in front of him crack and break as it turned to dust.

Suo Bai then continued his walk and followed the tunnel which was now sloping diagonally upwards, he soon came across another room, only this time the passage was blocked by a huge stone door.

And he wasn't planning to open that door now when he was simply a Level 1 Gu Master of the Initial stage, without any combat experience. He prefers to wait until he at least reaches the upper stage before trying his luck with the Jade-Eyed Stone Monkeys.

Suo Bai wasted no time and crouched down while repeating the same process as he did with White Boar Gu. He got the Jade Skin Gu and devoured it along with the other Earth Flower that guarded it.

"Nexus, how is your database currently?" Suo Bai asked lightly as he left the cave and headed back to his house.

[I currently have 8 Gu items in my database]

[Rank 1 - Moon Orchid]

[Rank 1 - Hope Gu]

[Rank 1 - Wine Sack Flower Gu]

[Rank 1 - Rice Bag Grass Gu]

[Rank 1 - Liquor Worm Gu]

[Rank 1 - Earth Treasury Flower Gu]

[Rank 1 - White Boar Gu]

[Rank 1 - Jade Skin Gu]

"For someone who's been in this world for less than two days, I'm doing pretty well. There are even three Gu worms that are rare to find." Suo Bai nodded calmly as he passed through the gap in the waterfall.

Suo Bai walked calmly back to the village without anyone noticing him and entered his house without attracting the attention of any of the family servants.

As he climbed the stairs, he heard some faint moans and murmurs coming from near his little brother's room. Thinking that he was having another nightmare because of the trauma to his eyes, he headed for his room to give him good dreams again.

As he neared the door to his little brother's room, he noticed that the moans and murmurs became louder and stranger too, causing Suo Bai to raise his eyebrows.

Before long, Suo Bai entered Fang Zheng's room and was surprised by what he saw.

His little brother was tossing and turning in bed, sweating like a pig, and it seemed that today's nightmare was much more intense than the last.

"This is getting worse than I imagined. Nexus, this time I don't want you to give him good dreams, make him fight his nightmares" Suo Bai became serious and touched his little brother's head so that Nexus could act.

Slowly Fang Zheng's face of fear and agony was replaced by a more determined and courageous expression, he was now gathering the motivation and courage to overcome his nightmares.

If it were possible to look inside Fang Zheng's dream, it was possible to see him waving a large sword as he struck and beheaded countless mutated beings of countless shapes and sizes.

And next to him was a silhouette very similar to him, but this one wasn't fighting, she was guiding and teaching Fang Zheng on the battlefield. That silhouette was naturally Suo Bai, who was helping Fang Zheng overcome his fears.

Having done his work, Suo Bai left Fang Zheng's room and went back to his own to sleep and prepare for tomorrow's first class.

That's it. Another daily chapter.

You must have noticed that it was quite easy for Suo Bai to find the Wine Monk's inheritance.

This was to demonstrate the benefit of being 'loved' by the heavens, and this is just one of the many benefits that are to come.

What did you think? What needs to improve? Let me know, and as always good luck on the battlefields.
