"Mom, I'm home!"

"There you are! So your mom let me in and I have good news, the guy you were talking about, I found him on social media and he-"

The way she paused shows that she figured out who I was with. It was so embarrassing that I could bury myself under a rock.

"So Emma this is Austin" I say trying to hide my anger and embarrassment.

"Right...Austin haha I've heard so much about you, I'm Emma, Julia's best friend."

"Yeah um nice to meet you I guess."

"Oh my, is that you Austin?" My mom walks in surprised by looking at Austin.

"OH hey Mrs. H. Long time no see."

*Mrs. H refers to Haywood, Julia Haywood is her full name*

"Austin, I don't even remember the last time I saw you. You were so small and cute but now it seems like you are all grown up. I bet there are a lot of girls behind you." My mom says sarcastically.

"Mom!"

"Oh don't worry, he knows I was joking. Right?"

"Yes, it seems like both you and your daughter share the same humor."

"Would you like to stay for dinner?"

"Oh I wish I could but I really need to leave. I just wanted to stop by to say Hi."

"What a shame, it would be nice to have the company. You better stay for a meal the next time you visit."

"Of course! Well then Julia I guess this is it. I'll text you later."

"Yeah. See you later."

"So you're like Boyfriend and Girlfriend now?"

"Yeah I guess." I say blushing

"Who would have taught that you could get a boyfriend before me."

"Says the person who gets asked out every day"

"But I don't go out with them. Unless if there're willing to pay for the stuff."

I scoff at her.

"I can't belie that he actually did your assignments."

"I know right! That was so sweet of him."

"I wish someone would do that for me.."

"You do realize you could just ask the guys and they would do it without questing anything."

"How mean do you think I am? I mean of course I would do that but I don't wanna use them like that."

"Huh I'm pretty sure you said something else few seconds ago."

"Look at you all high and mighty after having a boyfriend."

"You do realize I'm letting you sleepover at my place and I don't mind kicking you out of here."

"Not if I knock you out."

Before we knew it we were already having a pillow fight.

"Ugh I need coffee."

"Me too."

"Looks like you girls slept pretty late last night."

"I don't know mom, would you mind driving us to school."

"Sure sweetheart, get ready cause you both look like a hot mess."

I check my phone and I was surprised to see a message from Austin.

Hey I just reached home, I had a great time today.

Good Morning! How'd you sleep. I hope you have a great day ahead.

Hey! so sorry I couldn't reply, I was pretty tired from yesterday.

I hope we can meet again later!

"Somebody's blushing."

"Knock it off, we're gonna be late."

We reach school just in time as the bell rings. I forgot that we have Economics the first class today which means I get to be with Emma for the next 45 minutes.

As usual instead of studying we just text each other memes until the class gets over.

As I was getting ready for my next class there was an announcement from our principle;

"Would Julia Haywood report to the principal's office? Julia Haywood report to the principal's office"

The moment I never taught would happen to me just so happened. I was a decent student in my high school, I never got into any trouble not even detention and now being called to the principal's office made me really nervous.

I think what made me really anxious was all the stares that I keep getting from everyone around me.

"Damn what does the principle want from you?" Emma says looking as nervous as me.

"I don't know but lets hope I make it out alive."

I wait foe the hall to be clear and then make my move to the office.

"May I come in?"

"Oh yes Ms. Haywood please take a seat."

"I hope you don't mind me asking why I was called here cause this is my-"

*Telephone rings*

"I'm afraid I must take this call."

I scan the room and it seemed like any other principal's office would be like. Many school achievements, a trophy cabinet and some random books and pictures. I already hate the feeling here and he just has to make the phone call longer.

Finally after 7 minutes he ends the call and looks at me smiling, which creeps me out even more!

"I apologize for keeping you waiting. Let me get straight to the point, your grades seem to be dropping slowly and you don't seem to be actively participating in the extra curriculars and it doesn't look good on your portfolio."

"Oh I wasn't aware of that, I try harder from now on."

"I don't think you have much time since you will be graduating in a few weeks and if this keeps going on you may find it hard to be accepted by colleges."

I completely forgot about that. Shit I'm so screwed, wait does my mom know about this? I hope she doesn't cause I'd hate to see her mad.

"Is there any other way I can upgrade my portfolio?"

"You are lucky that this offer just came up. This year our school is participating in the student exchange program and instead of sending our students to a different school we are accepting other students for a week. We have already assigned each exchanged student with a student ambassador from our school but we just found out today that another one has just been assigned to our school and I think this would be the perfect opportunity for you to upgrade your portfolio and if you get this job done right we may also write a recommendation letter for your top colleges."

Wow this offer was actually good but I hate the taught of interacting with some stranger. No Julia, stop being so stubborn. This is the perfect opportunity for you right now! I feel like I have to take it, I mean how bad could it really be?

"Thank you so much for this opportunity. I would like to be a student ambassador and I promise that student will be in good hands."

"I'm glad we agreed on this. The student will arrive next Monday, you will be sent an email regarding information about the student which also includes their contact details just in case you want to get to know them before meeting them. You may now be excused."

I head straight to the restroom and lock myself in one of the empty stalls. I needed some time to process what just happened before I get to class. I heard a knock on the door;

"Uh sorry this is taken." I say confused.

"This is Emma, come out."

After hearing her voice I came out immediately.

"What happened, you were there for a while. Are you in trouble?"

"Kind of, but I somehow agreed on something that should help me graduate without any problem."

"What happened? Tell me everything!"

And so I did. We were in the restroom for a while now.

"Wow that's a lot to take in. And you actually agreed."

"It's not like I had much of a choice."

"True. So who is the kid you will be babysitting."

"Don't say it like that, it sounds weird. I don't know yet, he said I should receive an email later today about them."

"I hope it's someone hot."

"I hope so too but we know my luck."

Just then the bell rings and I realized that I missed a whole class.

"Don't worry I'm sure they'd understand that you were called to the principal's office."

"Yeah like 20 minutes ago!"

"They don't know that." she winks at me.

I quickly head to my next class and actually pay attention cause I need to get my grades up.

I was done with my classes early but Emma wasn't, she had some practical's left to do which sucked caused we planned to hang out after school.

Austin had seen the message but hasn't replied yet.

"Just ask him for a coffee or something" Emma says gathering some materials from the lab

"We just went out for coffee yesterday and somehow ended up officially dating. Not to forget the fact I made him do my assignments too."

"Then ask him out on a date later this weekend. It will be your first date as a couple."

"True. But should I?"

"Yeah! Make the first move cause if you wait for him then your relationship will go nowhere."

"Ugh fine."

Do you wanna go somewhere this Sunday?

I mean if you're free of course.

It has only been few seconds since I hit send and I can't stop feeling nervous.

"Also if he texts back don't reply instantly."

" Why?"

"What do you mean why, you have to make him wait or you are going to sound so desperate."

"Fine..."

I was done studying or had I think I did despite the fact that I was checking my phone every 5 minutes.

I decided to take a shower but of course he had to text me just before I entered. I didn't open the text yet but decided to wait and mean while I went to take a shower. I taught of all ways of what he would say and what I'm supposed to reply with.

After 15 minutes I entered my room with my pj's on and opened the text.

Yeah that would be fun

Should we go to the mall that opened recently near the lake park? And also take a walk there if possible.

Omg I was freaking out! That sounds like a perfect date. I feel like I waited long enough so I quickly reply.

Sounds like a plan:)

Guess I'll see you there

He's read it and I just squeal and roll around the bed all exited. I can't wait!
