Chapter-12

I go to the café where I was greeted by Charlotte.

"Hey Girl!" She says

"Hey! How's work?" I ask

"It's actually going good. Oh here! Austin left you a note; He asked to give it to you if you came here." She says and hands it over to me.

What would he want to say? He made it pretty clear this morning that he didn't want me to achieve my dreams. I open the note and it reads out;

Dear Julia. I am really sorry on how I acted this morning. I got my personal feelings into it and I would like to give you a proper apology that you deserve. Let's meet at the park we visited on our first date.

Can't wait to see you there.

I kept reading the note again and again wondering if I should go see him. I know that I still don't know much about him so I decided to ask Charlotte as they knew each other before.

"Hey, when do you have your break?" I ask

"Huh I should be done within 5 minutes." She says

"Okay I'll wait. Can I grab an ice coffee?" I say

"Here you go." She pours a cup right away and hands it over to me.

I take a seat near the window. My eyes roam around the café while I take slow sips of my coffee.

"So what's up? Everything alright?" She asks concerned.

"Yeah just going through some stuff with Austin."

"Oh I'd hate to piss him off."

"Why?" I ask concerned.

She leads me to the back room where we sat in silence where no one could interrupt us. She looks at me for a while and finally lets out a big sigh.

"Well I'm not sure if I should tell you this but this happened when he was still new to the school. Since I was his first friend he made there, we hung out a lot and he wouldn't stop talking about you. It was obvious that he was in love with you and I kind of resented you that time as I used to have a crush on him. I did confess and let me down. I didn't hang out with him much since then but one day I was hanging out with a couple of my friends and they asked about Austin. I wasn't exactly found of him anymore so I told them how he was so obsessed with you and wouldn't shut up about it. They made fun of him later but one time they brought you up he got really mad that he beat the crap out of them. I watched it from afar as I was afraid of the look he had on."

"Omg that's horrible! I can't believe he would do that" I add

"He also threatened to kill one of them and almost did. He was lucky he got away with a warning while the other guys got expelled as they had a reputation of starting fights."

I just stared in silent. I didn't know he was capable of that. I've never seen Austin angry. I'd seen him wary, and shy and uncertain, but never angry. I wasn't sure what to do

"Well he probably changed and I must be over thinking this." She says trying to change the subject.

That's when someone burst through the door and startled both me and Charlotte.

"I've been calling you! Why don't you ever pick up your phone Charlotte?!"

I just stare at that person, mostly his body and make my way up to his face and when I did get a good look at his face I realized it was Lugh!

"Lugh?!" I say surprised

"Wait Julia?! What are you doing here?"

"Whoa you both know each other??" Charlotte adds

This situation was really confusing. I hadn't seen Lugh since I kissed him.

"I know Lugh as he's an exchange student at my school so we became friends and Charlotte as she's a friend of a friend…." That sounded so weird saying it like that.

They both look at each other and I ask; "What about you, how do you guys know each other?" I add

"Well Charlotte is actually my step sister. We share the same dad but different moms."

Well that news was surprising to me. He turns toward Charlotte and they both argue about something.

"Fine I'll go and get it" she says and leaves the room.

I was left alone with Lugh and the awkwardness was killing me.

"Listen about the pills I gave you today, it wasn't mine. It was Charlotte's and I took it from her because she was once caught doing drugs before, so I'm basically in charge of keeping her clean. I didn't know you took the wrong pill and I'm so sorry about that." He adds

"Oh well that explains everything. I'm also sorry for….um….k-kissing you today…" I say

"Well here it is. Also I need those pills back. I know you took them from me today morning." Charlotte says

"You won't get it back yet. I'll talk to you again once you get home." Lugh says and goes out waving me goodbye.

"You two seem close." She says

"N-not really." I tell

"Does Austin know about him?" She asks

"Yeah I did tell about him…"

"Just be careful. I'd like it if you stay away from Lugh. I'd hate to see him get hurt." She says and turns around to clean some tables.

I keep thinking about what she said about Austin and I needed to know more about him so I decided to go meet him at the park.
