The Wilting Lotus

Sitting at a top of an abdominal giant corpse, a silhouette of a young man could be seen gasping for air, seems exhausted, as he watch through the horizons, thousands of corpses both human and inhuman are sprawled on the frozen ground, while the horizons is mourning, his blue silver hair seems untainted by its surrounding, gracefully moving by the current wind.

His battered armor which could be resulted in long battle, shows how an extraordinary his powerscale was, A single person that was able to change the tide of war. Along with his warrior, they was able to defeat the feral and vicious army of monster, which feared by the lightruss continent or more known to be the abyss sanction. Right now, the remaining abyss sanction force could be seen scattered in the battle, they numbers only amounted to few hundreds and they are now retreating to the ender continent after their leader losses in a hand of this man.

'the abyss lord this time surely weaker then the one I faced 8 years ago'

'Moreover, this one lacks intelligent and skills, it's only know to bulldoze through it's way' he murmured.

As he descends from the massive giant corpse, he limp a bit and then fall down sprawled to the ground, he feels his heart constricted while his body slowly turning cold. He felt that he can't do anything, as he drag his body and gained some standing, he could see one silhouette followed by few hundreds moving towards him. Even though his vision is blurred he still able to recognize the stature that fastly coming towards him.

" Captain!!!,"

The person that came closer shouted towards him, and slowly he could see the person more clearly.

" Elise,..."

As he uttered this name he lose his balance and about to fall to his knees, but before that could happen, the girl named Elise grab his shoulder and supported him. Then she placed him on the ground again, while she helps him sits properly and as gently as possible because she knows the captain right now is in vulnerable state.

" Captain you did it, you defeat one of the abyss lord"

she says while smiling with a bit of tears. But the person mentioned just stare at her with forlorn looks, but she knows his captain better than anyone instead she just continue to give him a warm smile.

"Yes... Elise..."

He responds but in a more weaker tone. But before he could add more words she just interjected.

" Captain, just stay for a while, our healer are coming...",

but the person mentioned just gasped for an air, while shrugging his head waiting.

After a few minutes, other warrior comes up to them and gather, all seems to be exhausted and battered, but none of them was in a dire state as the captain. All seems to have a tacit understanding of their captain conditions. Then, a healer comes hurriedly upfront and reach out both of his hands to proceed with healing the captain, but as he was about to perform his healing magic, the captain stopped him with his hand gesture.

" Stop it Lont...ill recover in no time"

The healer named Lont feels conflicted but just nodded acknowledging the captain words as he knows that the person himself have superficial recovery. Before he could utter an obedience word, someone near shouts at him,

"Lont!!!, why aren't you healing the captain".

Then the healer looks at the person and muttered,

" But..vice captain Elise, I am just following Captain' s order..."

Before he could utter any more words to convince her, he feels the surroundings area are filled with massive amount of magic and he knows that the vice captain was really angry at his actions, on this right moment. Elise confronts Lont with her hand and sword raised up. But before the scene became more chaotic, the person concerned just stopped her.

"Stop it Elise, no need to blame him for this matter, I order him not to do it, I know myself better".

Elise gritted her teeth in frustration but lowered down her sword. The crowd of soldiers just remained silent as they know their vice captain are not emotionally stable and they know that the person she care the most is their captain, throughout this 2 years period they know her utmost priority. When they arrived upon this place, the captain body, are certainly in really worse condition, both of his hands and upper torso seems to have crack and covered in a frozen frostbite state.One of his eye are hollow and appeared different from the usual mesmerising blue sea colour.This seems to be the result of overusage of magic eye sigil.When the silence continued, the captain slowly stands up and broke the silence with his order,

" As for now, I command the Blue Lupus corps retreats from this battlefields and back to our territory".

Everyone nodded as a prove of obedience and starts to pack and ready to return. Even though they are exhausted, they still excited to go home. After sweating tears and blood for over 2 years finally they could feel relieved and would soon be united with their family. Everyone begin to moved except for one person which is Elise, she just stand in front of the captain, looking at the frozen ground. But the captain knew how to handle his vice captain well.

"Elise, I need your help, I cannot ride the horse in this conditions".

"Are you really okay captain?"

Elise asks again in concern.

"Yes, absolutely but we need to return as fast as possible"

"Now help me please.."

Awaken from the captain's order, Elise also nodded, grab his shoulder and help him to mount the prepared house, while she also mounted the same horse.

Placed behind Elise, the captain lean his body towards her as he doesn't even have an ounce of energy left in him, as he leans his body towards her, Elise body seems to react as she shivered a bit, as the captain's body seems to be so cold as cold as an ice sculpture. The captain's seems to notice this and asked,

" Is it okay for me to lean on you till we reach our territory?",

But Elise just nodded her head

" No problem captain, just hold on tight".

Then the captain nodded while hugging Elise. Then, he just surrendered his body to the exhaustion. Elise then tightened her hands on the reins of the horse and galloped at full speed aware of his captain dire condition towards their destination. During their march, the snows seemed to be mild while the nights engulfed them in darkness. With a beacon of light and some night lantern, the Blue Lupus corps marched towards their territory.

For a moment the captain's eyes flickered open, as they pass by the river of Luman, he could see the river overgrown by the snowflake silver Lotus. It's one of his favourite flowers and he remembered how he kept it in his backyard at their territory at Snowdawn. But he seems to be sad as the Lotus in the river are slowly wilting showing that the great summer will replace it soon. And he close his eyes again.
