Lost in Happy thoughts~ First <shhh... it's a secret>!

**Sakura POV**

I couldn't concentrate much on the movie at all.

Megumi had my entire attention through out.

I just couldn't get what he had just told me out of my mind.

'Of course he loves you Sakura.' I spotted a mini me floating around my shoulder talking and advising me with a happy expression.

'No he doesn't! I know Megumi better than either of you and I know well he's just teasing you!' A mini Megumi appeared over my left shoulder and spoke into my ears.

'Shut it both of you!'

'No! Listen to me!'

'No! Me!'

Before I knew it, the two hallucinations had become argumentative and had started a full blown debate about the matter as I helplessly closed my tired eyes.

I leaned back into the coldness of the chair trying to comfort myself and draw my attention away from my delusions. I knew they'd go away if I payed no mind to them, eventually, hopefully.

'I just want to enjoy myself, is that so hard to bargain for?'

Even after what felt like eternity I couldn't stop their shrill voices from squeaking around inside my head but they suddenly vanished as soon as a touch of warmth grasped my hand that was on the arm rest.

My eyes shot open as I spotted Megumi giving me a soft smile that seemed to be filled with warmth, melting away all the tension in my body, giving it the comfortable feeling of being wrapped inside a freshly washed blanket on the coldest of nights.

Megumi wiggled his right shoulder and motioned for me to lay my head on it which I gladly did as I closed my eyes and lay on it.

I felt Megumi lean closer to me as he whispered something in my ears, 'You know what?'

'What?' I asked back in the same low whisper.

'I have a fluffy little friend who has missed you quite a bit.'

'Hmm?' I looked at him confused but then I suddenly felt a soft weight in my lap.

Turning to look at what was on them, I was surprised at the sudden appearance of the fluffy little cat that brought back several little memories to me about the time I had spent together with Megumi inside his head.

Quickly holding up the kitty up to my face I found it twitch its nose and smell me a little before it extended its tongue and gave my nose a small lick.

Its beautiful eyes that were reflecting the dim light inside the hall made me feel like I was looking at the stars that embroidered the canvas of a dark night, like they were my very own personal little stars.

I wrapped myself around Megumi's arms for his warmth as I hugged the kitty cat and leaned back into the comfortable soft sofa chair to enjoy the experience.

**Megumi POV**

Sakura was soon asleep in my arms with a soft occasional snore from her relaxed face that held a soft smile.

I could feel she wasn't still fully alright, it would be strange if she was, if she could become alright so soon after just having tried to end her own life. Her mind felt like it was broken, scarred like my body, having multiple streams of thoughts, emotions and motives of actions, she looked like she couldn't make peace with her own thoughts, like she was at war with herself.

I don't really know how or why it happened, but I'm sure I would find a way to help her out and would be by her side for as long as she needed help.

After all it hurts a little to know that someone I would give up my heart to know more about was in pain while walking right by my side.

**Mebuki POV**

We all occasionally stole glances at the Megumi Sakura pair that was leaning on each other with Sakura haven fallen asleep some time ago and Megumi just watching and admiring her instead of the movie but we couldn't bring ourselves to complain about it since they both looked like they deserved a break, with the soft smiles that they both had on their faces as if they had gotten everything they could ever want in their life.

Grandma Mito also occasionally looked at Megumi with a soft smile that reminded me of my own mother.

It feels good to know that someone like her was looking after my Megumi for all this time and that he didn't have to spend all this time alone with no one to rely on.

**Kizashi POV**

I couldn't help but tearing up when I saw Sakura fall asleep with such a peaceful expression after such a long time.

Being one to arrive quite late into the house at times due to the businesses that had expanded, I had seen the days during which Sakura would be tearing up in her sleep and constantly waking up from her nightmares when she tried falling asleep.

She used her proficiency in healing jutsus to hide the fact that she wasn't getting enough sleep, but I knew and the fact that I hadn't been able to do anything to help her because she had closed herself off from the rest of us had pained me.

It had pained all of us to see someone, our daughter, become so sick.

I pulled Mebuki into a happy hug as I just wanted the world to know my joy.

**Thrid Person POV**

After making sure that Sakura was happy and alright, Tsunade focused her attention on Hashirama who was watching the movie with absolute attention so as to not miss even the slightest of detail.

'Is he real?'

'Did Megumi make him up to keep our worries away?'

'Perhaps they are just an illusion like Sakura keeps making up hers?'

'Arggh! I need to figure something out!'

Suddenly Tsunade felt something poke her waist as she spotted a finger that was attached to her grand mom, Mito, who was beside her.

Tsunade was sitting in between Mito and Hashirama, like a child.

Mito leaned in and pulled Tsunade's head to her shoulder as she slowly but surely patted it like she used to during her childhood when ever she could.

Hashirama also placed his arms around the two of them and made himself comfortable, but still never took his eyes away from the screen in front of him.

Tsunade's eyes watered instantly but she didn't let anything flow over as she just watched the movie like everyone else, lost in their own little happy thoughts.

**Shizune POV**

'Why is everyone so silent?'

'Wasn't that part with the guy calling a dragon that could blow him away 'toothless' funny enough to make everyone laugh?'

'...'

'Why do I feel like I'm being the third wheel here?'

…..

**Thrid Person POV**

"Grandpa! Grandma! Take care! Make sure to talk to us every day! And make sure to use the seal on time tomorrow! Or I'll send Megumi back to annoy you until you do!"

"Hehe~! Hai, Hai Tsuna-chan! I will make sure to do so, you don't have to worry about anything, although I wouldn't mind trading you over for Megumi occasionally."

Tsunade pretended to feel mock hurt as she heard those words as everyone looked at the doors that were closed in front of them.

It had been some time after the movie and everyone had spent time talking to each other about their own personal things leaving the theater to leave Megumi's mindscape, leaving Megumi and Sakura alone in the theater since everyone decided it was good enough for Sakura to sleep until she woke up by herself.

"Mebuki! He is…well…you probably know him well enough since you're his mother, but he doesn't talk all that much about what he's been through. He's been through a lot, he lost both his left hand and his right leg which left him helpless for quite a bit of time, and for every moment he was stuck, he always longed to be back here so make sure you make him feel home! Don't let him feel left out! Especially since even now all his techniques are super risky and might cause him to lose his life if wrongly or excessively used."

"Hai! Mito-sama!" Mebuki did a polite bow, but everyone there had noticed the new information about Megumi having lost not just his arm but also his leg which came as a little bit of a shock to them but they soon covered it up as they unanimously non verbally decided that they would ask him about it later.

Everyone had a lot on their minds right now and just wanted to take time for themselves to sort things out.

….

*YAWN* *YYYAAAAWWWWWWNNNNNNN*

Waking up from her soft slumber, Sakura fluttered her eyes open as she looked around in the darkness thinking she was still home during the night when, suddenly all the memories about what had happened earlier that day came rushing at her.

Panicked she looked around to figure out if it was all a dream when she felt the familiar warmth wrapped around her.

She looked down and found Megumi's hand that was lit under the soft light from the stars of the dark sky, placed around her stomach.

Her senses immediately heightened as she felt herself on a cloth covering what felt like was grass underneath the now beautiful night sky filled with a variety of stars and the curtain of light she had seen when she first made her presence known in Megumi's mind.

Feeling the arm that was wrapped around her stomach tighten a little, Sakura followed it up until she found Megumi who was looking right at her.

A faint blush that was hidden from Megumi, courtesy to the lights of the night, made itself known to her cheeks.

"What are you doing?" Sakura asked with fake mock anger.

"Hmm…? Am I doing something?" Megumi asked as he tightened his grip over Sakura's waist further.

"Don't you know it is impolite to touch a lady without her permission?"

"Hmm… is it? I see… then MY lady, do I have your permission to wrap you around myself like you did just until a few minutes ago when you were using my body as your pillow to sleep?"

"That…." Feeling a sudden rush of blood into her cheeks, Sakura shot up straight and sat down on the ground realizing what had happened and made some distance from Megumi, which Megumi just followed closely.

"That..?" He asked, bringing himself right into her personal space.

"That was just because I didn't want to disturb mum and dad! Yes! That's it! And you were right by my side so I thought you wouldn't mind! Also weren't you the one who offered your shoulder to me in the first place!? And how would I know what would happen once I fell asleep!? So it wasn't voluntary!"

"Ho~ooo!" Megumi exclaimed as he brought his face as close as he could to hers without letting it touch.

Sakura was startled but made sure not to move as she watched Megumi's lips with expectation rise within her. But along with this expectation, several other thoughts rushed to the front of her mind as her hallucinations swung back at her with full force.

'You don't deserve this!'

'No Sakura-chan! You mustn't falter! Megumi is yours! Don't give up!'

'The lion the witch and the audacity of this bitch to think she could attempt to kiss Megumi!!'

'Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shu-'

Sakura shut her eyes and tried to wipe away the voices in her head so that they wouldn't ruin the moment she was supposed to enjoy but couldn't. When, suddenly she felt a soft sensation land on her cheeks that immediately shook her out of her thoughts as she looked wide eyes right into Megumi's eyes and then averted her face.

"Why did you do that!?" Sakura asked with a little bit of anger in her tone, she didn't know why but she felt as if she had been taken advantage off.

"That was a thank you. Don't worry about it."

"Thank you?"

"Yes."

"For what?"

"You don't know the number of times during all this time I spent my time making sure to keep my focus on meeting you that I was able to maintain my sanity, I don't know what would've happened to me if I didn't think like that."

"...." Sakura couldn't come up with a response as her own anger started to feel unjustified but then a form of resentment grew up within her as she felt Megumi was mocking the state she was in.

An untimely silence fell in between Megumi and Sakura as they both just watched either the lake that was in front of them which reflected the starry sky or just the sky itself.

"I don't deserve it…" Sakura whispered.

"Why?"

"Because… because I'm so broken…."

"Huh? So what?"

"But I'M NoT who you thought I WAS!" Sakura said in a sudden flair of anger but her intonation was off, as if she was angry but also not. As if she was trying to control and fight herself to decide exactly how she should feel about what she was talking about right now.

Megumi just extended his hand and held Sakura's in it as he looked ahead without speaking.

"I'm sorry, that was uncalled for." Sakura responded with her head down.

"You don't need to apologise…"

"But! But! I'm sooo…so broken!" Sakura said as she tried to pull her hand away from Megumi but ended up just falling on top of him.

"Ho! Look at you! Just a few seconds ago you were talking about asking permission! And now you're throwing yourself at me…" Megumi spoke making fun of Sakura.

"I'm being serious Megumi!" Sakura exclaimed as she tried to pull herself away, but Megumi didn't let her, instead he wrapped his legs and hands around her, trapping her in his embrace.

"Now where will you go?" Megumi asked as he looked right at Sakura who was sitting in between his legs.

Sakura averted her eyes that had tears in them.

Megumi just held her closer as he planted a soft kiss on her forehead.

"What was this one for then? Another one of your stupid thank yous?" Sakura spat out in anger this time but tainted with melancholy.

"No."

"Then?" Sakura asked as she looked right at him.

"It was to reassure you that I will be there all through your worst."

Sakura just looked away but the tears in her eyes were more prominent now along with some anger.

"What worst!? What best!?"

"Do you know how many times during the day I have an argument with myself..?"

"I have an argument about everything!"

"Everything I have to do has to be perfect! Or I risk disappointing you! Or I risk failing you! Or I risk being abandoned by you! Like the last time you did!"

Megumi pulled Sakura even closer as their bodies almost touched with him planting a soft kiss on the side of her cheek again.

"What was this one for then? Another one of your stupid thank yous to manipulate me into thinking I'm just stupid?" Sakura spat with venom in her voice along with a little real anger this time as she felt she'd never be good enough.

"No."

"Then?" Sakura asked as she looked right into his eyes again her fury palpable in them.

"It was to reassure you that I will be there all through your worst, even if your worst involves hurting me." Megumi repeated holding her tighter so much so that their bodies were touching.

Sakura felt something click inside her head as her eyes widened and she looked away trying to hide the emotions bubbling in them as her body began to feel the warmth that was radiating from the body wrapped around her.

Tears started to stream down her face as she started to sob softly.

She leaned into Megumi's hug and then spoke, barely a whisper, "But.. I'm so broken…"

"Hm~m." Megumi just hummed as he patted her head.

"I was so scared all this time!"

"Hm~m."

"I didn't know what to do! Since I wasn't already perfect!"

"Hm~m."

"I didn't want to lose you again this time!"

"Hm~m."

*sob**sob**sniffle**sniffle*

"Megi…"

"Hm~m?"

"Megi!" Sakura shouted but buried herself closer into Megumi's neck as she held him tight by wrapping her arms around him, like he had with her.

"Hm~m!!?"

"MEGI I LOVE YOU!!!!!" Sakura shouted with fear but then shut her eyes tighter than ever and buried herself in Megumi's shoulders for the irrational fear of being rejected.

"...."

But even after waiting for a full minute, Sakura didn't hear Megumi speak or respond to her.

'Did I- No! No stupid things!' She was about to fall to her delusions again but the warmth in her arms prevented her from even attempting to do so.

'Why aren't you responding to me Megi!!!'

After another minute Sakura slowly lifted her head to see exactly what Megumi was doing if he wasn't responding to her when suddenly she felt a sense of warmth spread on her lips.

For a few seconds the entire world vanished from her sight as only the sensation on her lips remained but then it came back bit by bit as she first spotted Megumi's eyes looking back at her so she shut her own but still gave in, gave into the loving feeling she was feeling, that was bubbling and pounding in her chest, setting it on fire as she pulled herself even closer to the one that was already the closest they could physically be.

It was only after a full minute of flip flops in her stomach when she felt the urgent need for her lungs to breath did she pull away from Megumi as she realized what had just happened as she watched Megumi smirk at her.

Without a second thought, Sakura pushed herself out of Megumi's mind and into her body to escape the embarrassment of what had just happened, she couldn't bring herself to face Megumi ever again, she felt like wanting to bury her head in a ground somewhere like and ostrich.

Once outside, she quickly ran away into her room like a child running away after turning off the lights during the night.

On the way she saw her Mum looking at her confused and then smile a little in the same fashion Megumi had which just went to embarrass her further as she dove into her room and shut the door behind her.

Jumping on the bed and burying herself under the blanket Sakura began to deride herself for what had just happened.

'How stupid can you be Sakura!'

'Now he'll think you're just some stupid girl who can be toyed with!'

'He didn't even say anything to you!'

'How needy can you be!?'

*Tak**Tak**Tak**Tak*

As Sakura went on complaining to herself, she soon heard the sound of scratching on the glass of the window by her bedside.

Once the scratching became incessant she pulled herself out from under her blanket and peeked at the window a little as she spotted the small kitty cat from Megumi's mindscape appear out there.

With widened eyes Sakura opened the window to bring the kitten inside, and found a small note attached to its collar.

Slowly opening the note her face turned the brightest shade of pink it had ever in her life.

'I love you too, Rura.'

'P.S You tasted lovely.'

Everyone in the house didn't sleep that entire night, except Megumi since he was too tired to care about anything else because he had been running on fumes after having spent so much chakra at once that day, as they heard the muffled shouts of a girl come out of her room with random screams and punches to the pillows and mattress in it.
