Chapter 13

—————MC's POV————————

Opening my eyes, I spend a few seconds gathering my thoughts. After the few seconds I got out of bed with determination. 'Today's the day I start my life' I thought.

As I opened my door to the to go for my morning run, I saw a package on my doormat. Picking it up was the sign of the 2nd Division. I immediately knew what was inside. I placed it on my bed and went for my morning run.

After the run I went for a shower and opened the package and took out my shihakusho and placed it on the bed.

I wore the shihakusho and looked in the mirror. It was the one that Soi Fon was supposed to wear in the future. But I stole her idea. It was a perfect match. It even accommodated my chest area as it was bigger than future Soi Fon. I then put my kunai sheath on my exposed back. I also tied my hair into a ponytail so that it doesn't disturb me when working.

After checking myself in the mirror a few times I shunpo to the principal office to inform him of me joining the 2nd division.

After that I shunpo to the 2nd division's Captain's office. I entered the room and ...

"You're here, Sakura-chan " said Yoruichi as she suddenly appeared behind me and jumped on my back.

"You have to act more like a Captain Yoruichi-san" I said as I acted as if I was not enjoying myself.

After minutes of getting Yoruichi seated, we finally started talking about my duties.

"You'll be the head of the Detention unit and also part of my Executive militia"she said" meaning you'll be in charge of the Nest of Maggots"

(*****For those that don't know, the Omnitsukidō is divided into 3 major divisions: the Executive Militia(under Yoruichi), the Patrol Corps(under Omaēda Marechiyo, the lieutenant) and the Detention Unit (now under me).

The Executive militia was responsible for mission that mainly required combat(mostly Hakuda) like dangerous capturing criminals, scouting enemy territory and assassinations and are mostly under the Captain.

Patrol corps are for gathering information in soul society and keeping Seireitei safe by doing patrols (in the shadows obviously).

Then the detention corps are responsible for capturing fellow shinigami that are deemed a threat and managing the Nest of Maggots where these shinigami are kept.*******)

—————Back to conversation———————-

"Okay Captain-san, I'll try my best" I replied with enthusiasm.

"Word of advice, there are some 'characters' inside the Nest of Maggots so I'll be careful if I were you. I've been managing it since there was no one else who could handle it" she said as she stood up.

"Let's go check out your office" she said as she walked to the door.

Surprisingly my office was next to hers. It had grey interior walls and standard furniture, nothing close to fancy at all. There was a window at the wall opposite the door.

After Yoruichi showed me the office I started work immediately. I had to go through profiles of the residents of the Nest of Maggots. Yoruichi was right there were quite some characters in there. There was also a pile of the profiles of people in the Detention Unit and a pile of profiles of people that were deemed potentially dangerous and required surveillance.

I stood at the window thinking about all this stuff. It was going to take a while to get used to.
