Chapter 17: Centichoro vs Crusher

As Saitama was walking back home, he suddenly remembered the other reward he got and excitedly urged the system to tell him when will he get his hair back.

<Host, please be patient. You will get your hair back once you wake up tomorrow.> Saitama just nodded his head and continued walking down the path he usually takes to head home.

First POV Saitama

'Hm, there are oddly fewer monsters around here,' Saitama thought. Well, that is actually because Saitama has been pretty infamous on the monster's side to where they nicknamed him 'The Bald Killer' let's just hope Saitama doesn't find out about that nickname or he might just massacre a lot of monsters trying to find out who gave him that name.

But it's not like it is a bad thing. The only downside to that is his identity might get exposed to the public while massacring a lot of monsters. And that's not a good first impression.

While Saitama was pondering on what to do in the future next, the system chimed in and interrupted his thoughts.

A chance to travel between dimensions.

Well, this is unexpected. But, I have some questions system. What happens when I am in another dimension? Will time in the one that I am currently in stop or does it continue? And can I choose what dimension I go to, or is it randomized?

<Host, time will stop in the dimension you just left if you ever hop into another dimension and it is impossible to choose what dimension you want to go into sadly.>

Well, that sucks, eh can't do anything about it. Let's just hope my luck will do its thing and teleport me into a much more peaceful place than this one. Well, I guess it's time to work. There is still plenty of time until dusk arrives.

I'll find a sewer hole and hop down it. And hopefully, encounter some monster base or something. 'Please lady luck, help me find their base because I am too lazy to search for it myself.' But before I could enter inside the sewer, I suddenly heard loud explosions and felt the ground rumble intensely.

*Rewind some minutes ago*

Crusher POV

*thud* *thud* the ground shook as I marched my way down the road, and all the people in my surroundings avoided me while at it. The public opinion of me is pretty bad, so no point in caring about it.

I've lived far longer than the average human can. It has been hundreds of years since the last time I took my helmet off. Because I do not need to eat nor drink. And the only source of entertainment I can get is fighting the so-called monsters of this era.

It's not because I don't like the other source of entertainment available in this world. It is just that I cannot understand how it operates. The 'phone' that the people of this era called is an example.

I bought one a while back and tried to use it. But I couldn't fathom understanding it. My other acquaintances tried helping me in multiple instances, but still to no avail.

So, I ditched that one and stick to fighting monsters. But, it has been pretty boring these past few years. There are no monsters strong enough. There is this one, though. It was a tall ass rocky monster.

But too bad I couldn't reach it, so I let the newbie handle it. Though I doubted he could kill it. But, contrary to my expectation, he killed it with ease. I even saw him clean up all the small fries in seconds.

I might as well ask him to have a spar with me sometimes. And I have this tingling feeling telling me he was a lot stronger than what he had just shown us. I'll find out once I experience it myself.

Ugh, I'm getting bored with walking and seeing no monsters around. My self-control wouldn't last that long and I might fight the other heroes. Oh, just in time because I suddenly felt the ground beneath me shake, then a giant purple ugly-looking centipede came out from the place I was standing in before.

"Human, join the Monster Association and we will grant you even greater power!" said the ugly-looking centipede. I just stared at him after he said those lines. Because I am already strong and I don't want to become even stronger than I am currently.

"Get your ugly-looking face out of here! I'm not interested in getting any stronger than this." I said. The monster just tched me then said something before lunging at me at high speed. This is probably the fastest monster I've seen so far.

I just side-stepped so he missed me, then I took out my hammer from behind then connected it to his exoskeleton with a force so strong that I think would level a tiny city down to the ground.

'Huh?' I thought myself, seeing that his exoskeleton didn't get a crack on it. I saw the centipede smirked which made me feel exhilarated a lot seeing an opponent that can survive a blunt hit from my hammer.

"Finally! a worthy opponent! It has been years since the last time I had one!" I said loud enough for him to hear since his head was high in the sky.

After I said that, I bent my knees then lunged straight at him, leaving a 10-meter crater on the ground. I then raised my hammer over my head using both of my hands, then threw it with all my might aimed right at his temples.

The centipede just kept smirking even with a hammer going straight at his temples with a speed only humans with superpowers would see. After a few more seconds passed, my hammer successfully connected with his temples.

But contrary to my expectation, it simply bounced off him then went in the directions of what I think were a bunch of people were in. Well, that is bad.

I quickly adjusted myself before kicking the air and falling atop the nearest building. Then swiftly jumped in the hammer's direction was going resulting in the building I landed in collapsing down to the ground.

I was already going at some hundred miles per hour, but I was still slower than the hammer. Guess I'll use one of my moves.

"Cloud Burst!" I said as I kicked the air behind me much harder than the last time, which sped up my speed, making me even faster than the hammer.

A few seconds later, I arrived at the crowd of people and urged them to get out of here before they turn into some meat paste. As the people dispersed quickly, I turned around and waited for my hammer to arrive.

I buried my feet to the ground and braced myself. A few seconds later, I felt like my entire body was about to collapse because of the impact. But I endured it and resisted my hammer from going any further.

A few moments later, I finally stopped the hammer, but I was already out of stamina and my condition is even worse since I was covered with injuries. You wouldn't see it though because I am wearing armor on.

I then collapse to the ground but forced myself to stand up because I still have a monster to kill. But before I could, the centipede arrived and opened its mouth and tried to swallow me whole.

Thankfully, I saw this and quickly dodged to the side, avoiding certain death. "I am surprised that you are still alive after getting hit by your hammer. I even added a bit of my power into that so it was a lot stronger." Said the centipede, but I just kept my face straight since there is no point in getting angry about it.

I rushed towards my hammer and picked it up before charging at his face. Gritting my teeth, I forced myself to go beyond what I could do and put every inch of my power towards this attack. This would certainly be fatal to me, as it would put too much strain on my body to handle.

But I don't about that since I would probably die, anyway. As the hammer connected to his face, I felt my consciousness falter before dropping to the ground. But, I felt someone hold me up and say something before going unconscious.

*present*

Saitama POV

'Hmm, I should check it out before searching for the base.' I thought before running towards the source of the noise. It surprised me to see one of the S-Class heroes fighting Centichoro. But the monster was the one on the winning side because Crusher was slowly dropping to the ground.

I quickly sprinted my way to him because I was still very far away from his location. I caught his falling body before saying, "Good work."

My sudden arrival got the centipede's attention and said something that I was too immersed in my thought that I didn't hear him. But what he said next piqued my interest in listening to him.

"We, the Monster Association, would soon go above ground and rule over you humans!" Monster Association? it already existed way before the canon?

Eh, I should have expected that since the Hero Association existed now. I already got fed up about this guy rambling some shit, so I taunted him into fighting me already. Which work.

The centipede was going at me at his top speed, so I dropped Crusher at my side and went even faster than that so he wouldn't even see me move.

Cocking my fist back, I added the minimum strength I needed to kill a regular monster and sent it right at his face. There was a slight delay to his death. Just like in the Anime, he disintegrated into nothingness like a certain purple dude with some stones snapped at him.
