THIS IS A SPOILER FREE REVIEW I am currently fully caught up to the most recent chapter (other than privilege chapters which are absurdly overpriced AND are a monthly cost, god I hate this app) and I feel the need to say that it was ABSOLUTELY worth the around $70 worth of coins to unlock the rest of the chapters. I can read pretty fast but it still took me about a week and a half of reading at literally every chance I got to finally catch up to the latest chapter (I'm not kidding it took up probably a good 85% or more of my free time every day). I will proceed to talk about the structure of the novel while avoiding spoilers as best as possible. The novel changes genres every couple hundred chapters or so, which keeps things from getting stale. uhhh I guess that's all i can about the structure, not because there isn't more to say, but rather because any more details would be major spoilers. One thing the author does ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY is the balancing of tone throughout the novel, despite me almost (or actually) crying several times, the author always knows when to move on and knows not hang on to the sad, depressing, and even existential dread causing moments for too long. And this isn't a "sad" novel, it's a story with it's ups and downs. The author replies to comments quite often, and always clarifies anything that people get confused on, so make sure to read the comments. Heres a tip for anyone reading this novel, new reader or not, always make sure you remember any appearance descriptions because it will not be repeated. I'm serious, I originally stopped a bit after 100 chapters in and came back months later (that being right now), and i didn't start from the beginning again so I couldn't remember how the mc looked, yet even after I read the next 700 chapters I never found a single full appearance description, I was just barely able to piece their appearance together because there were a few descriptions for specific things but that's only because they're pretty much the only character that gets occasional small descriptions anyway.
First of all, this novel’s good as long as people love the aspect of getting stronger and powerful and that’s it. • Main problem starts From character development and world building. Character building is extremely poor and honestly, why would author choose such a simple-minded muscle headed mc for the story. He logical reasoning is so poor that most of the time I doubt his intelligence. • Second problem starts from the emotional attachments to background characters like his friends, brother, nephew and stuff like that. The conver sation between them is so low and extremely apathetic, you will feel nothing. They come and go often in the story and their impressions are honestly nonexistent until chap 300. These problems are consistent on many chinese novels about fantasy as far as I know. Well, I read a lot of fantasy novels so that’s that. Overall, if you are board and wanna try something new give it a try.
A lot of people are complaining that he acts stupidly and that its just another dude with a cheat cultivating so I would like to clear some things out. He’s not really stupid it’s just that he doesn’t really care about getting strong because he has all of eternity. While a lot of time is spent in human form, there are many times where the fact that he is energy, not human becomes significant. It is not a cultivation novel. He does not stay in the cultivation world and more most of the book is about what he does while strong, not about him getting strong.
it's quite good in the beginning to be honest. great concept. but then the beast taming ark came up which is not my thing. It became too boring for me. beast taming, physician , too many diversions. instead of focusing on his cultivation and physical prowess , he do useless things. a pity. truly a pity.
I want to preface this review by saying, I don't like this book. is it a bad book? no, it's actually pretty good. Writing quality is really good, with very few errors, is give it a 4.5 just because I think the author could have done some much more investing things with the system and character. The MC is immortal, so why not use that as a story device to create drama and character development. instead the first time it's used, the only reason was so the author could drop the current arc and move on. The MC didn't even change after losing everyone he cared about, again! these reasons are also why I give story development a 3, I just think the author could have been much more creative with everything, instead, we got a generic Weak to stong with a slightly different way of cultivation, but not really because they author goes and adds normal generic cultivating, and the system becomes a glorified store. But 5 for world development, pretty good.
Hey, that's pretty good! Hey, that's pretty good! Hey, that's pretty good! Hey, that's pretty good! Hey, that's pretty good! Hey, that's pretty good! Hey, that's pretty good! Hey, that's pretty good! The way he died In the beginning to how he progressed to how his is 61 Chapters in captivates me. This novel has amazing potential and has amde me want to support the novel further. I hope that this novel will place high in the rankings for it to be eventually completed. And I also want to thank the author for constantly replying to questions about what the MC can do and say if it is plausible or not.
Hello author, I really enjoy your novel and I always feel my fast passes are never wasted. I have noticed that I am unable to unlock chapters by watching ads as I am with other novels. I was wondering if there was an option for you to allow that function or if it was not possible because your novel first released before that function was implemented. If there is an option for you to allow people to unlock chapters by viewing ads, I would be grateful as that would mean I would be able to enjoy more of your novel daily. 😀
Writing quality: excellent. I’m impressed by the author’s command of English. Updating stability: atrocious. The promise of 4 chapters per week is never - and I mean *never* - delivered upon. The author regularly goes a week or more between updates, sometimes to the point where I wonder if they dropped it or if I should. But I stick around anyway. Story development: slow, but good. The main character is immortal and unkillable, not to mention having a system that’s extremely, ridiculously overpowered, so all that’s left is basically slice of life. If you like slow-paced, casual adventures, you’ll really like this novel. Character design: meh. The MC is entirely too overpowered and side characters are regularly introduced then put on various buses and ignored. Even in the chapters they’re present, there’s little room for them to grow because the MC’s power level is so ridiculously high that they have little to offer, or even really to do at all. And the MC started out where most other MCs end, so there’s no real room for him to grow either. World background: incredible. The author has created many vibrant, living worlds, all of which feel like they could stand on their own as the backdrop for novels. I really have to applaud this aspect. Overall: the inconsistent release rate, the slow paced story, and the limited character development and ridiculous design kind of overshadow the author’s imaginative worlds. That leaves it rather mediocre overall, but I really have to emphasize that the worlds are incredible and the writing quality is superb. It’s just a shame that the author built such incredible backdrops for epic stories that never seem to play out and cardboard cutouts to play them.
Slight Spoilers, but you've been warned. 390 Chapters read, and that is pretty much what I'd consider the whole first Arc of this series, and that's pretty much the cultivation arc. Now, onto my review. I left character design as a one because, honestly, I have no idea what to imagine the character to look like. Not just him but any of the other side characters. There's nothing really indistinguishable to make me recall them except the word Inukaka. Let me say, though, that the writing quality is decent. You won't hurt your head reading this. Also, I may quite add that the story development is very unique. I quite liked the fact that we see the MC struggle and have what I call his pubescent moments into adulthood. I'm sure we've all had a period where we said or did something incredibly stupid and instantly regret and drown in sorrow for a while. Heck, that beginning portion was what drove me to binge read the novel until chapter 390. Just to add, the world background is vast. I'm excited to see where you'll take this world background scenario cause as someone who has read Infinite Mana in the Apocalypse, I've come to be fascinated by what people can do with multiverses or other planets. If I had to list one thing that really stood out to me in this novel, it would be the growth of the MC in the beginning. It was well done. Though the story did stagnate heavily and just go through a massive time, skip around the 300s. If I had to nitpick, my only issue was we know Ning made some friends during his Golden Core stage, but they pretty much get glossed over. Only 3 side characters are really noteworthy, but to be honest, I barely cared about them. Also, the romance felt lackluster. It just felt like it...happened. No interesting build it. No rooting. It just sort of happened, and yet it felt more like it. 'Hey, you're lonely. I'm lonely. Let's be together forever.' All in all despite the slight downhill in quality of the portion I'm at I'm excited to see where it goes. Personal Score is a Solid 7.6/10 and would recommend it to friends.
