Ch 6 : Brink

   The temperature drop drastically and the fog start to form around the filming set. The sound of the water droplets dripping are clearly heard even though there are no water sources nearby. The filming crews are still not moving, I realize that the time has stop for them but not for me. I probably am at the alter dimension create by the evil spirit.

    I lost in my thoughts for a while when I look at the evil spirit that rush onto me, I have not enough time to dodge his attack this time. I protect myself with my hands spontaneously. Suddenly, I heard a sound of the bells jingling and the evil spirit thrown backward before he was able to touch me. It is the sound of a pair of the bells from the friendship bracelet I am wearing.

  The evil spirit grunts in pain. He glared at me with a hateful eyes but then his gaze switch to Lilian that is still standing like a mannequin behind me. I have a bad hunch about the way he looked at Lilian. If what I was thinking is right, I must protect Lilian at all cost! Only me can protect Lilian right now as I am able to move and see the evil spirit as clear as the day. I force myself to stand up and running towards Lilian. The pains are eating away my right leg, I have no idea when I got cuts over there.

  The evil spirit vanished in a blink of eyes and I unable to sense him. The air had become thicker and it's hard to breathe. I arrive at Lilian while panting for oxygen. I feel a bit dizzy from the pains and lack of oxygen in my lungs. The evil spirit hung upside down from the ceiling before it dashed at Lilian. I try to pulled Lilian to the other side but her body is not moving like it have been glued to the floor.

   I panicking but as the evil spirit almost touch Lilian, the bells are jingling again and the evil spirit was thrown into the wall. This time it has provoked the evil spirit to become more maniac. While, I become more dizzy and stumble on my steps. I guess this dimension did eat away my life energy.

  The evil spirit stand eerily facing me straight up and he once again rushed onto me with his sharp-pointy fingernails. I must dodged his attack but because of my drowsiness I stay still while trembling in fear. I close my eyes tight, waiting for the impact.

  The impact I been expected was not arrive, I slowly open my eyes. I gasp for air as I look at Xian's back in front of me. He was taking the blow for me. Bloods are dripping from his arm. I heard he was chanting the sutras and draw a pentagram on the air, the evil spirit shrieking eerily before it turn into the dust and disappeared with the wind.

   Xian turn at me, his arm is bleeding. I wants to tend to his wound but I collapsed before I able to do anything. Xian quickly catch my falling body.

   "Let's leave here before they see us." He carried me in his arms.

   "Lilian..?" I hardly utter a word but I still feel worry about Lilian.

   "She is fine. Worry about yourself first."

It was the last thing I hear before I black out.
