A dragon's blindspot.

Sigmund watched with a relaxed gaze, as he saw his only child break through the wall to meet the final test. (Obviously he couldn't be seen by either Eli or the Dragon.)

Whilst he was standing besides the dragon, the God of Gods appeared besides him sitting cross legged holding a cup of green tea.

Without taking his eyes off Eli, Sigmund knew who it was. Obviously the others had a bit of interest in the young boy but only one of them would show his direct interest. The others preferred to watch from afar, he however had no qualms with being direct.

"Not watching from afar?" Sigmund asked with a hint of a smile.

"You know why am here." As the God took a sip of his green tea. "Giving a mortal such a possession.... It didn't concern me so I did not care at the time but this.... Aren't you being a bit naïve?"

Sigmund chose not to respond as the dragon besides him shot a stream of flames at Eli.

"This 'Game', that you have chosen to play..." as he calmly took another sip of his tea as the dragon got up to approach Eli. "The rules that are in play are very vague, I worry that when others choose to play too, it may lead to an uncertain outcome."

Sigmund smiled before replying: "How thoughtful of you."

The God looked up at Sigmund from where he was sitting before looking back to what was unfolding in-front of the two, continuing to speak his thoughts. "Whilst it is of interest... I worry.... Do you not?" As he took another sip of his green tea.

Sigmund however reflected in silence, it was not a question he wished to answer at the time.

However the blast had no effect on the dragon's under side. His scales/hide was too armoured.

The Dragon quickly moved and closed down this window of opportunity as he swiped his right leg at Eli, but Eli was quicker with his reactions and immediately made himself as small as possible by diving at the floor.

The sharp hooked claws grabbed at nothing as Eli moved out of his talon range.

The dragon stood in awe. If it weren't for the circumstances he definitely would have loved to form a relationship with this individual.

The dragon laughed out as his voice boomed out. "Has it been so long that you have forgotten?"

Eli stood back a few meters away. "Forgotten what?" As he edged towards a giant rock.

"Trying to draw blood is a fruitless endeavour. You will have to get serious should you want to actually draw blood demon Lord!" The dragon said this in confidence as his hide/scales acted like armour, tough and resilient to any attack. (You can think of a dragon as a walking tank)

"Who said I was trying to draw blood" Eli replied trying to draw time.

The dragon paused in thought before dismissing it. He was then saddened by the fact his entertainment was to come to an end. "Who would have thought a 'demon lord' would make such a grave mistake as to just play around, being over confident is the worst thing you can do." The dragon then charged another attack.

Eli quickly chanted out an ice barrier spell but it didn't even hold the flames at bay for even a few seconds. It was too low of a tier, but thankfully he had already calculated what his next move would be.

If the spell didn't work he would use the environment to his advantage as he quickly run, dived for the huge rock and took cover behind it.

The dragon kept vomiting a stream of flames as the rock's face slowly started glowing from the extreme heat.

Whilst the rock protected Eli momentarily he was in a hard pressed situation as he dripped with sweat from the heat generated by the dragon's flames.

"Hmm" The God of gods paused at sipping his tea as he watched with interest.

Sigmund's gaze was unchanged as from before.

The dragon stopped shooting out flames when he saw his adversary not move from behind the giant rock.

The face of the rock was no longer the dark earthy colour it was before, it was now a myriad of crystals as the front of the great rock had just been given a make over.

Dalzrenth approached the rock and peered over it, only to find Eli not there. He started looking around agitated by this.

The God of Gods was watching, no longer taking sips of his green tea as he was so enthralled by what was happening.

Sigmund on the other hand was unmoved he simply just stood there watching.

Eli had used the flames to his advantage, using them as cover to change positions, using the attack as the dragon's blind spot. It was unsightly to look at, some of the rolls and movements looked like disgusting to the human gaze with no elegance to them.

Whilst the dragon looked around Eli kept manoeuvring from rock to rock, trying to to stay out of the dragon's sight as it was busy investigating the two closest rocks from where Eli's origin was.

Dalzrenth was clearly getting agitated he wanted to have a clear view but realised the area he was in was littered with rocks/environmental imperfections.

The God of gods chuckled for a bit before voicing his thoughts out loud. "Right from the start that boy had planned this, leading him to an area where he would hold a better advantage with his size. Quite impressive."

Finally Sigmund's face broke as a smile revealed itself.

From the start, from when he first burst through the walls to the heart of the maze, Eli had taken note of his surroundings and had carefully manipulated the battle so that he would hold the cards.

Eli slowly lowered himself trying to get as close to the dragon as possible. The element of surprise was with him but he still needed a clear shot to the dragon's underside. He needed to strike at the same place again for his attack to work.

He kept manoeuvring till he was on the left hand-side of dragon. His size was his greatest weapon against the dragon.

Dalzrenth roared in anger as he spat flames at the closest rocks to him, if he couldn't find him then he would try to flash him out.

Eli stayed still in his spot, it still wasn't a good enough opportune moment.

Dalzrenth stopped his stream of flames to speak. "Like a pest you choose to hide?" as he looked over another set of rocks "I must say this is a surprise even for me, I never knew a demon lord would stoop so low."

Dalzrenth decided to switch-up tactics and start to bathe everything with flames within his vicinity.

Finally! The opportune moment made its appearance and Eli was quick to grab onto it.

Both Gods watched from the side-lines, watching Eli make his move.
