Chapter 51: Damages

Every squad that completed the mission were asked to converge at a new point on the map where the Super Mages where fighting the Ruler. 

A Ruler level being had extraordinary senses, as soon as it's Commanders started to die one by one it went on a rampage. The Super mages had intercepted it and didn't allow it cause any damage.

The Ruler of Blood Tabi Beasts was only a Ruler inferior creature while three Super mages fought it together. Any Super spells were threatening for it let alone General Lu Xu second tier spells.

The battle ended about five minutes after Captain Huo's team. Now they had called everyone and given the order to deal with corpses, use light spells to detox the area.

Every Corpse had to processed and nothing were to be left for the Undead Kingdom. Since Blood Tabi Beasts were dead the military could focus on building a base on the slope of Qinling mountains.

The second mission needed them to explore the Qinling mountains and mark every area out. The plan was to attract Undead and use a few of them for scouting. But the Undead would have encroached on Blood Tabi Beasts territories if they weren't eliminated.

In order to stop Undead from having more territories General Lu Xu and the other Super Mage were using Super level Light spells and laying a Formation. 

From the second half onwards they would be under Fei Jiao's direct command and the generals would return to Ancient Capital.

Squads and teams returned to Carp Village, which temporarily had more than a thousand people to get treatment. Initially seventy five advance mages were dispensed only seventy returned. A squad had been killed by a Commander.

Of the nine hundred, intermediate mages only seven hundred and ninety returned. The rest had perished under demon beasts. Even in a controlled extermination mission like this where the high combatants of humans completely outclassed the Blood Tabi Beasts, the mortality rate was eleven percent.

The military had even discovered a few spirit grade seeds and a small scale elemental sacred land of Earth element in the territory of Blood Tabi Beasts. 

The lands of demon beasts definitely held resources that humans could use, even the isolated Blood Tabi Beasts held such resources. 

The military would now extract these resources for themselves now. 

General Lu Xu went in front to speak to the soldiers who had fought with him.

"Our mission has been completed, albeit with losses of our own. We have claimed the land of Blood Tabi Beasts for our own. We plan to build a small base here facing the Qinling mountains. 

The reinforcements from Ancient Capital will get started on the construction after arriving. Now we have found a small scale elemental sacred land here, my decision is to prioritise mages who have taken part in this mission to be rewarded with spirit grade seeds. Mind you we only have Earth element ones, so for others I can only recompense in other ways.

All Light mages are to co-operate with me to lay a Formation after the Construction corps start building a base for us. For now go back and rest. You have earned it." 

General Lu was an experienced soldier, he knew what was important for the army and what needed to be said. He had taken out a Ruler that his behind the lines of Undead to keep a large amount of land and acess to Qinling mountains, but he showed no emotion on his face. Choosing to increase the troops morale after the mortality numbers were calculating.

Most renowned clans or families did not send their children to the military, very few did. Most of the military mages were grass roots mages who had come up together and had bonds of their own. It was in human nature that they would form small teams within the troops and have friends.

Most of the survivors were feeling sadness or guilt, General Lu couldn't be boisterous or overly happy as it would present the higher ups as callous and uncaring about those below them.

Lu Xu did just enough and stopped talking leaving the soldiers to their own. Now that reinforcements were here next priority would be construction, clearing and laying the formation.

"Shall we get a drink, if we are allowed to return?" Cao Guang asked his friends.

Cao Guang was an alcohol virgin. In his first life he didn't live long enough to drink and his second he had avoided it so far, concentrating on his cultivation.

"Of course, I'll introduce you to the stuff brother. I have been telling you to try out some of these. I know all the interesting places around" Gao Xuan exclaimed seriously "All of us should get a drink together"

"I don't know, you might not be able to return, you are a Light and Earth mage. They might keep you here" Luo Heng chuckled. Among them if anyone wanted to drink and have fun it would be Gao Xuan.

 "No, they should have enough mages right, these are common elements."
