Chapter 43: Captain Huo

He didn't think he had a higher chance than any other person to improve a formations at least not now. Maybe he could impart more wisdom from his other world. But his intuition told him the Incendiary Fire was a fluke. If not his ideas for magic equipment that came after the Stun and Flash grenades would not failed as they did.

Cao Guang went to meet his friends instead cultivating, they would be taking the mission alongside him.

"Is the balance tipped so far towards us" asked Luo Heng.

Humans wouldn't start a war trivially not when they were facing enemies on multiple fronts and were outmatched.

"As much as we are tipped against the Undead, maybe a bit less" Song Xia replied.

"I agree but this is a species war, we are looking to eliminate the Blood Tabi Beasts as much as possible aren't we?" Gao Xuan was the first to question the military's motives.

"No, the military would be happy to stop if they can force the Blood Tabi Beasts escape to Dongting Lake. Those Salamanders and Blood Beasts are agressive towards each other. Jinling City would welcome these beasts to Dongting Lake. But these beasts only have Ruler-inferior creature leading, any of the main Super Mages of Ancient Capital could eradicate them alone if not for the Undead" it was rare to see Song Xia take initiative to explain something.

"Oh yeah something else happened Fu Da commited suicide" Gao Xuan sighed.

"What, how , Liao Wencheng's squad was supposed to prevent that. Did the Psychic mage question him atleast?"

"No, it happened before the psychic mage got there. That Xie Bao guy was supposed to watch him and he screwed up. I heard the psychic mage ended questioning Xie Bao and don't know what happened further other than he was punished in some way" Gao Xuan replied.

That useless idiot. Now it's going take us a long time to find the origins of that poison, if we ever. At least we have an antidote but will it be effective if the poison grows stronger?

Cao Guang could only reluctantly focus on his new assignment due to a lack of information. 

"Guys we are supposed to report to a Captain Huo, any of you know him"?

" He is the new Captain of the fourth company of the West division. He should be a newly promoted Advanced mage only two elements there," Luo Heng explained "also what plan to does the military have for the Ruler?"

" Well General Lu Xu and two other Super Mage will be there, one of them is going to be our combat instructor, that's all I know. Our job should be to slay as many Blood Tabi Beasts and draw out their Ruler."

"Indeed an experienced Super Mage will be necessary if they want to take the Ruler out before the Undead react to it. General Lu could defeat it alone right?" Gao Xuan added.

"More importantly how are we going to prepare, we have to be careful about the Commanders " Luo Heng questioned.

Three days later, squad 17 made their way to meet Captain Huo. He was a young man and looked dashing in the Captain's outfit.

"Squad 17 right, I have twelve squads with for this mission although you guys are the first here. It seems the others haven't received the mission yet."

Cao Guang who was the reason for their early visit spoke up " We got the Mission when we completed another. What's the action plan Captain."

" There has been a change of plans, Since we don't want to aggravate the Undead we were going to fight a Guerrilla battle with the Blood Beasts from the Ancient Capital.

But now we have a better option for a base. 

Carp village, one of the villages around Ancient Capital has decided to move to Ancient Capital. They will let the military use their village as a base in exchange for escorting them back to Ancient Capital and some land resources in the Outer city. 

This is a far better solution, we can position ourselves closer to the Blood Tabi Beasts and the Undead won't bother us inside the village, but the village chief did mention that might be changing in the future.

But it doesn't matter as long as this mission is over and for the sake of security, every squad will operate from Carp village and the Super Mages will be there as well."

The Super Mages being present was a no brainer, not just as a safety mechanism against but also against the Blood Tabi Beasts.
