Chapter 24: Meeting Max

Cao Guang left with his friends to their accommodation after everything was done. He had an early appointment tommorow with Max about the Incendiary Fire patent.

The Incendiary Fire and the delivery system was easiest of his three patents to make and right now his only hope to money.

Max owned a small workshop with his girlfriend in the outer city. The pair had utilised the outer cities cheap price in the early stage of construction to buy a small workshop, even though they were still students. 

The workshop had two floors, the first floor designed to fit a artisan like Max himself. It had a furnace that ran on magic ore and his tools. The furnace could heat up to 1000 degrees as much as the strongest Advanced spell.

The second floor was modelled to fit the needs of a Healer. Max's girlfriend was a Healer who ran a personal clinic. She was an intermediate mage and a student in Ancient capital University of Magic just like Max only Max focused on more esoteric topic of Artisan.

If he became a qualified artisan he would be working with magic ores and other rare materials to make armour and other Magic equipment and as things like cultivation tools and Soul Containers they needed an artisan to work with an Undead mage of enchantment professionals. 

A lot of work went into making these stuff not just usable but harmless. The fundamental nature of magic was destruction so creation or processes in that direction was far less stable and could often cause damage.

If a Lightning Cultivation tool was improperly crafted or made with unstable elements then it could leave it's user in pain as they tried to use it in aiding their cultivation. 

Cao Guang turned up for his meeting on time.

" You must Max then" he said greeting the only person in the workshop.

"Yes, Cao Guang right?"

" I read patent after your assistant shared it with me yesterday. It is a wonderful idea of course."

"How long would it take you to make and how much are you expecting to be paid" Cao Guang didn't waste time with pleasantries with the guy. He had five billion in debt and two of three avenues to money had not worked. He was a little more than impatient.

" In a hurry are we, For a 0.5% I can do it in month"

"1%, I need it in two weeks time" Cao Guang retorted.

"Mister I appreciate your generosity but designing it, test it for fail safes and prototypes will all take time."

" I Don't care about it, it is military grade stuff, let them worry about it later. We only need to design it and make it work and not explode on ourselves. Make it stable and make it work and I can go as high as 1.5% if you can do it a week".

Cao Guang desperation stemmed from a piece of news he had heard online today morning. He had to act fast to secure that opportunity. He could make a fortune out of it. Unlike the current state of things.

He had planned to pay of his debt and then have some more to reinvest in a few good opportunities, but his two big money maker failed. The Incendiary Fire was a great system but it was military grade and he was a soldier. He would at best recieve pennies on the dollar for it. 

In exchange of course he would recieve a few other benefits but that was it.

"Fine, I'll tell your assistant when I'm done." 

Although he agreed Max wasn't happy at all. He was a PhD student and had his own studies to focus on. It would be hard for him to complete it that easily, without any Soul seeds of the fire element. He had searched for one before but had to settle for a workshop.

The reason he took this job was so that he could afford a Spirit grade soul seed.

He knew 1.5% was generous, but he didn't know when and how much the military would pay for this stuff. The reason why it was only 1.5% was because of Max's lack of experience and the fact Cao Guang would bearing all expenses as long Max submitted them through his assistant Lin Feng.

" I am not done, I didn't mean to give you a task you cannot possibly complete. I have a spirit grade flame with me and I'll co-operate with you in the making".

Max's eyes lit up like a candle after he heard about spirit grade flame. He didn't have one and that was reason why it would take him so long to make the delivery system. A spirit grade flame would speed up the process a lot.
