Chapter 169: Bengal Demon Tiger
Cao Guang's imperious Lightning Constellation appeared as he released his modified technique once again aimed at the hundreds of vines on the Tiger's body.

Mu Hua, Zhao Jing and the others cooperated with him as they targeted the vines and quickly eliminated them, these vines were the primary reason why even bird type monsters preferred not to fight against these Tigers.
Mu Yinfeng and Song Xia attacked the Tiger from two different sides as they prepared to delay the creature as the team prepared more spells, some ambitious team members even used a Star Constellation Book to cast a mediocre version of the Advanced spells.

The tiger clearly had the prowess of a Standard or even Great Commander in it's element, but it's other attributes like speed, vitality and senses were not upto the same level.
Cao Guang was strong enough to kill any Lesser Commander alone if he had a Fenrir's help for a while as long as it wasn't a Sea monster.
He watched his teammates spells and decided against Summoning Fenrir and changed his spells, he had an idea to use the Advances spell in a similar sort of way to the Primary spell of Lightning that he wanted to try. With the magical bombarding the creature was facing at this point he had a decent chance of killing it in one strike.
He waited for a few more seconds as Gao Xuan and Mu Yinfeng kept up the defences of the team and the others began controlling and attacking the beast. Frankly even he had underestimated the desire of his teammates to get out of this smelly swamp.

No twenty year old wanted to remain in this swamp with the mosquitos and the stench, they might be a generation that wasn't all that coddled but to them, this place was beyond tolerable. Only soldiers like Gao Xuan and Song Xia kept their composure, they had been and would continue to be in worser environments.

Two serpent like bolts of lightning springed to life from Cao Guang's arms as he released his spells, The nefarious serpent coiled around the length of Bengal Demon Tiger and restrained it by force.
Even the majestic tiger that dealt with waves of Advanced spells struggled with that one as the serpent chokehold drained it out of breath as well as paralysis, while the team aimed all the following attacks on the creature's head.

Soon enough Cao Guang witnessesed a Soul Remnant fly out of the Tiger's body and enter the Little Tora pendant as a flicker appeared in Lu Zhangtian's eyes.
" That was well done, and I have to say you guys are stronger than I expected, I have enough to make my report and now you can decide if you want to remain in the Forest of return to the city, though I believe I know the answer." Captain Rai spoke up after confirming the Tiger had indeed died.
The rest was as he predicted the team unanimously pushed for a retreat.
" Since we are going back as just us we can't take the same path as we came, the Archaic Demon Herons will overrun us, not to worry we have a plan and we can leave after I report to the Major General about the situation".
Captain Rai's team was never meant to continue with the convoy anyways and had no problem convincing the general.
The return path of the group was ingenious as it used every bit of knowledge and advantage humans had acquired over the years after exploring the Mangrove forest.
The forest and it's layers were not concentric circles, in fact on a map they were an irregular blob of land that occupied a large area.
There were infact many distinctions between the Silver Fern and the Deep Marsh layer most obvious was the lack of the said ferns.
Instead of returning to the first layer and being harassed to death by the Demon Herons, Captain Rai led the team to the closest point of the second layer to the outside of the forest.
The main predators of the layer, the Demon Tigers were at war with the different sections of the military and too busy to care about a small group traversing side ways.
