Chapter 168: First night in Deep Marsh layer

The hundreds of vines slashed up against the soldiers who were dodging, however a few of the vines had already caught a few soldiers and now needed their teammates to quickly chop them off before the Tiger decided to have a quick snack.

The national team members had quickly given up on hunting the creature as they felt it's aura as a great commander and decided to help the soldiers and learn about its fighting habits more.

The Super mages didn't seem to take action and kept their guard up as other captains engaged the creature's limbs while Cao Guang and the rest started clearing of the vines.

The ever-present vines were a complete nightmare for any mage as they were forced to waste their magic energy to reduce the numbers before they had any chance of fighting it as a small group, thankfully the military convoy did not lack in numbers.

Armors appeared on every mage fighting the Tiger as the Formation mages got to work.

Cao Guang connected the stars under the protection of the soldiers and unleashed his Lightning spells.

The fifth tier Basic spell emerged for Cao Guang to admire, under the boost of his Soul grade seed it was stronger than simple Intermediate spells casted by the military mages by far.

He didn't wait and launched the Intermediate level spells as well, by the time the domain was established he alone had eliminated almost twenty of the vines himself.

Fortunately he had tried out a spell that was perfect for the situation before.

Scores of Lightning needles struck the various vines shocking them from the inside, lightning was a bad choice against the plant element as well, yet he had finished off another thirty of those vines. Lightning Bliss had supressed the plant element quite a bit while allowing him exert a lot of control of the Needles.

'That soul seed is stronger than my Wind soul seed' A small smile crept up on Captain Rai's face.

The soldiers quickly readjusted themselves after they were freed from the vines. The Bengal Tiger had ferocious temper and power but a convoy of 300 plus mages were a bit outside it's capabilities, especially alone.

The battle still went for a few tens of minutes as it drew more power by controlling the plants nearby. It finally died by the spells of Captain Rai.

A howl went off nearby as the creature died, Tigers hunted alone but that didn't prevent other Tigers from evaluating the prey when the species died.

Here comes the difficult part, the Bengal Tigers will start seperating us to fight, hopefully we get only a Lesser Commander, these tigers are almost as strong as Sea Monsters in their element in this forest and we haven't even met one that can control both plants and the water.

The convoy travelled again the next morning but was soon slowly split us by the tigers using various strategies, but the military was prepared they had long formed strategies and teams to split into in case of such a scenario.

The national team was still with Captain Rai and his twenty men by the time the second night slowly turned up.

The fighting style of travelling by day and battle by night was starting to get to the team after the horrible living situation in that forest. There was little Cao Guang could do about that situation.

Like a daily ritual the chirping of the Water Monitor Lizards went off at night when they sensed the Tiger, however, due to the fact that fewer of them were here with the smaller group, they sensed the Tiger far later later than the previous time.

Captain Rai came out his tent and observed the creature as he shouted to Song Xia who he knew was the Captain of the national team.

" This one is a Lesser Commander and me and my me will not interfere unless you say so, even if your teammates die at when we do you will have failed as well" he said the same dialogue again like a rookie cop who practiced the Miranda rights in front of their mirror many times, just waiting for their chance to read it out.

The team took their place and Cao Guang and Gao Xuan established both their Domains to pressure the creature, it's casting of the plant spells would be even harder this way.

They had fought against one and certainly prepared some countermeasures for it.
