Chapter 122: Solstice and Slaughter

The Soul seed had set Cao Guang back by 700 million in the auction, bringing his savings to 2.372 billion instantly. He spent money faster than he ever made it at this stage and the funny part was after a certain point it wouldn't make a difference to him.

But he could make a difference with it.

Lightning Bliss had two special effects which were, the first was that it would lock on to every living entity in one's domain and when the mage releases Lightning spells, they instead of spreading out like Lightning Strike Electric Field or Thunder bolt Lightning Disaster they would concentrate on to those entities. This effect was an active one. It also did not differentiate between allies. So he could use this when he was fighting with his teammates.

The second one was a passive effect, it could summon a Bolt of lightning from the skies as strong as the current Advanced tier of the mage called Lightning Bliss. It summoned only a single bolt of lightning and could not be stacked like Lightning Tyrant.

The summoning a lightning bolt was a common special effect among Soul seeds but being able to stack them made it one of the best. Unfortunately the Lightning Tyrant was probably still a Spirit grade seed.

The advantage that Lightning Bliss gave him was huge as he still wasn't all that fast with the formation of Lightning Star Constellation. This let him instantly call a Bolt of lightning as strong as his Star Galaxy.

It also boosted his spells six times. It was among the best Soul seeds. He only knew two that could beat it and both weren't born yet.

Cao Guang was certain that he was now strong enough to fight semi Commanders now, even if his other elements were below par.

All he needed to do now was practice and wait for the Solstice Slaughter to begin in Ancient Capital.

The Undead in Ancient Capital depended on the night and the presence of dark energy to come out of their graves and basically do everything. The night didn't just give them life, it dictated how far they could go and even how strong they were.

Every Summer they would get sluggish and often not come out of their house as Earth's revolution around the Sun made days longer and nights shorter. The reverse was also true, they would go into overdrive every winter as Solstice approached.

The nights grew longer, the stronger the undead got and even the rare Undead that slept for most part of their lives would come out and Ancient Capital would actively go into a war like state even more so than normal.

All sections of both walls would be on alert at every point and the Super would be on alert against Rulers becoming active. It was a Slaughter basically of both Undead and the living.

Cao Guang had missed it past few years through commitments and injury, his friends had all gone through its flames. This year only Luo Heng was free to attend with him.

Luo Heng made it to Ancient Capital five days before the Solstice and met Cao Guang slouching in a cafe called 'Red Roses'.

Cao Guang looked him up and down and noticed a smile on the guy's face and said " You broke through?"

" How did you know ?" although he looked sad that Cao Guang guessed it before he could say it, he really wasn't.

"Your element is easier than those two, compared to them your talent promotes easier Break throughs, Super level is probably going to be good for you. And you have that grin on your face".

"You know me well, what's the situation in Ancient Capital?".

" They say atleast two Rulers might wake up, they are all preparing for it"

" Anything else?" Luo Heng asked curiously.

" My daughter might be stronger than both us"

" You didn't even say that the Flame Belle broke through, even then it shouldn't be that crazy right?"

" I let her break through in an Elemental Sacred Land, and she got a new Soul grade seed, that's two now her spells are boosted 9.5 x now. She can go up against a couple of average peak Advanced mages if she wants"

" That is.. well I wanna I kill you and steal her huh.. can't the both of you combine?"

" Not right now, she's a bit too strong for me. I might die, if I overdid it"

" That makes me feel a bit better".
