Chapter 117: Taking care of the little brothers

Cao Guang planned to stay here and improve his Earth and Light elements. He also needed to slowly add them into his fighting style. He had more options to explore.

His current style when taking Summoning out of the equation was Controlling with Space and finishing off with Fire or Lightning. With Earth and Light he had more avenues, especially with weaker demon beasts and Flowing Mud. His defences were no longer just his Will.

Cao Guang rented a room in Ding for three months before heading out to collect information and eat. The Little Flame Belle wanted to burn some food. As an elemental creature she had no need for meat or even a stomach per se. She just liked burning stuff up.

His habit of eating had inspired her to follow in her father's and brother's footsteps. She was just emulating them.

---

Cao Guang stayed in the city for a few days before he left for the cave.

The Dongting Cave had many entrances and exits sprayed around Ding City like a toddler split glitter on the floor. Some of these were pretty much insignificant.

Others were frequently used by the military and Hunters, but mostly just the former. Even they had underestimated Ding City's potential and had not explored it completely.

Every major City had great number of resources nearby and lots of resources meant demon beasts. Sometimes they were overlapping, almost all coastal cities followed this rule.

Cao Guang had used one of the more prominent entrances to the Cave.

The Underground Cave he entered was twenty metres in width and dark and gloomy, he activated a light he brought with him. He could also have casted a spell but it was more draining, especially when he might need that Spiritual energy later.

Cao Guang searched the places nearby for half an hour to no avail, entrances were often accessed and the beasts there were dealt with by pretty much everyone.

Cao Guang needed to Focus on cave systems and places that were yet to be discovered, he didn't plan on venturing to the ends of these caves today itself. He needed to learn more about them by heart.

Or he could get lost in them. Yes he could leave a mark on the walls before proceeding forward and retrace his steps by following these marks, but they were easily tampered with.

Cao Guang went forward for another hour and was coming to the limit of the distance he could cover while remembering the path he took when he discovered an odd location.

He found a passageway in the caves so thin that three humans would have trouble walking side by side over through it. He could also make out the vague shapes of a few Rock Monsters on the other side.

It was the ideal place to fights these beasts, they had good defences but only one of them could make their way through the passageway at a time. Besides if he kept his distance they were sitting ducks for him.

The small passageway also meant that it would break the walls if he used Sky Flame Funeral but he could deal with Warriors and lower without it. If he casted a Space Rhythm Delay or an Earth Wave Delay, he would make them sitting ducks in slow motion.

Cao Guang wasted no time in progressing through the passageway and aggravating the Rock Monsters in to following him, those that were coming were just Minions and about thirty of them.

Cao Guang casted a Light spell in case, it wasn't a matter of just safety but also training.

Light Protection Holy Shield

A shield appeared in front of him, the best part of the spell was the fact that he could move shield as he wished and it would last for a while as it was an intermediate spell. It was another reason why the Light element was loved after reaching the Intermediate level. It filled so many criteria for a mage's battle prowess and this was only tier one spell. Cao Guang couldn't wait to reach higher tiers or a Soul seed.

Greater Fire Burst

Lightning Strike Electric Field

Fiery Fist Ground Break

Cao Guang didn't go over board with them and took them out with just Basic spells. He was conserving energy as he could feel more Rock Monsters making their way through the vibrations on the ground.

In an enclosed space like this sound was far more likely not to be dissipated in a short time.
