Chapter 114: Yep, this again
Cao Guang was tired out spending a month out in a desert with no sucess, thankfully he had collected enough soul seed pieces for his daughter to much on.
He came to Magic City for more than one reason this time, he had spent 100 million on his third awakening making him worth just 90 million after the fact. He had opted for a general one rather than a specific one.
At this point he couldn't afford a specific awakening. Ideally speaking he was fine with awakening any of the classic elements aka elemental magic as long as both did not lack a movement spell like Ice, Water and Light.
He just wanted one of the elements to be Wind or Earth. If not Blink would be his only movement spell, it was a high efficiency but low frequency spell and was unnecessary most of the time.
Of course when needed it trumped all movement spells but it was so hated that people would use a Space Locking formation if they really wanted him dead.
The Black Vatican must have started hearing his praises, so far they stayed outside each others orbits, but things could change in the future.
He also had a special affection for the Light element as it had the well documented strongest single target spell among the Super level and a counter ability to the Shadow element.
This time he had chosen to awaken with Master Guo Liyu at the Oriental Pearl Tower. He had a appointment with the guy for today morning, speaking of Guo Liyu he was a young genius among Guidance masters, it was well documented that among all guidance masters in the country he was in the top two for success rate.
Number one was an old woman in Imperial Capital, her family had all been prestigious guidance masters and still are. But now she conducted awakenings only for Super mages or higher.
As for Guo Liyu his success rate with Super Mages still had room for improvement. Cao Guang was not all that worried about the awakening, apart from the Basic stage there wasn't any danger of an awakening failing, last time he had been worried about the side effects of the potion and it had turned out his worried were unfounded.
Guo Liyu ran his own practice at this moment, as for his assistant she was only a teenager in middle school. Talking about teenagers in middle school Mo Fan had yet to show any intention of becoming a mage, Cao Guang was unsure of whether it would change or not in the future and could ask Lin Feng to keep an eye out.
He had heard recently that some of the Zu family members were intent on picking on Zhan Kong when he was down, the man was made to run chores due to bureaucracy and had little to no time to cultivate.
Apparently Zu Bao had a promising son and needed to suppress any opponent he might have in the family, he basically wanted to test Zu Huan Yao's affection for his son.
The family had secret technique for their Curse Art and this son was rumoured to be a genius in them. Cao Guang had heard the details from the group of Young Royal Guards that Pang Lai was training before he left. Zu Bao was the deputy chief of the Royal Guards afterall. They had their ears on the proverbial grapevine.
Speaking about Pang Lai the expedition was scheduled to end in another six months, since it was an exploratory mission they had to map and chronicle every detail they could observe.
Cao Guang hoped Pang Lai would return alive, there wasn't anything else he could do at the moment, a fact that annoyed him to no end.
Cao Guang made his way into Guo Liyu's humble office on time for his awakening and found an assistant waiting to guide him in.
Inside Cao Guang found a younger Guo Liyu waiting for him.
"You must be Cao Guang let's start with the awakening, do you have any preference for the element, I can't offer you a specific awakening but something improved is possible"
"Wind, Earth or Light would be nice", Cao Guang didn't want to brag about his talent in front of this guy and be asked pay double charge.
Cao Guang placed his hands on the stone that Guo Liyu had prepared. The man used his will to separate the elements that he had asked for.
