First Fighting Scene.

Taking a cautious peek, Meiying observed Hongzong entering through a nearby door, and a sigh of relief escaped her lips. However, she couldn't help but chastise herself, recalling Huilian's explanation that he hadn't seen much.

"Meiying!" Jingyi's voice called out from behind her, jolting Meiying from her thoughts.

Startled, Meiying turned to face Jingyi and noticed the presence of Chen Meilin as well. It appeared that she had unknowingly walked into a room rented for the girls to change. "Jingyi, Meilin!" Meiying exclaimed with a mix of surprise and relief.

"I'm relieved that everything worked out for you," Jingyi said with a warm smile, her concern evident.

"Me too, how are you feeling now?" Chen Meilin asked, her excitement palpable upon seeing Meiying.

"I'm alright," Meiying replied, feeling grateful for their unwavering support. "Actually, I need your assistance, Jingyi."

Curiosity sparked in Jingyi's eyes as she eagerly inquired, "What is it, Meiying?"

Meiying proceeded to lay out her request for Jingyi to be the one to communicate with Hongzong regarding the scenes they would be acting in.

Curiosity getting the better of her, Meilin interjected, "Did anything happen between the two of you? Why are you trying to avoid him?"

"I will explain later."

After careful consideration, Hongzong and Meiying settled on two scenes to work on together.

The first scene depicted Huo Wu and Xiu Ying arriving at the building to question its occupants about a recent murder. Wei Long and Yang Xiulan, coincidentally living there, were caught up in the investigation.

Everyone took their positions, poised and ready for the director's cue. As Huang Yifan and Meiying began the scene, Meiying felt her anxiety resurface. Approaching Wei Long's door, he answered, and Yifan initiated a conversation. When it was Meiying's turn to speak, an unexpected stutter overcame her, leaving her dismayed. She quickly covered her mouth with her hand, hoping to hide her apparent embarrassment.

The director had to call for a cut, rushing towards Meiying, who was now hiding behind Yifan, as he enjoyed the unexpected turn of events. Concerned, the director addressed Meiying, understanding that she might not be in the right frame of mind to continue acting after everything that had happened and she should take a few days rest.

"B-but I want to act now," Meiying responded with determination, her desire to overcome the situation evident.

"Alright. Let's try this. Master Huang and Miss Chen will act a few scenes together first. It will give you some time to relax and, perhaps, it would be beneficial for you and Master Zhang to rehearse your scenes together," the director suggested.

Meiying was now faced with Hongzong alone. She started fidgeting with her fingers, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. Sensing her unease, Hongzong took a step closer, gently placing his hand over hers.

Meiying looked up at him in surprise, only to be met with a reassuring smile. "I haven't apologized to you since yesterday, so... just listen closely because I'm only going to say this once. I'm sorry for barging in with my sister. I thought something bad had happened, and I was worried," he apologized sincerely.

Meiying was momentarily stunned, not needing to hear him say it again to recognize the authenticity of his words. It was an unexpected sight for Meiying to witness this vulnerable and sincere side of Hongzong.

"Apology accepted," she responded, a genuine smile gracing her face.

"Then, since they won't be using this room for the scene right now, let's go in here and rehearse for our scene," Hongzong suggested, breaking the tension with a practical solution.

Meiying nodded in agreement but excused herself momentarily to retrieve her phone from Jingyi. She searched the reserved room for the ladies but didn't find her there. Curiously, Meiying approached the area where the crew members were gathered, when a familiar voice caught her attention.

Meiying found Jingyi with Huilian, the two seemed to have struck up an unexpected friendship while exploring the building—a remarkable feat for someone who typically shied away from outdoor activities.

After retrieving her phone, Meiying met up with Hongzong to rehearse their lines. Once Yifan and Meilin's scene had been shot, they eagerly stepped forward to perform theirs.

The first scene went smoothly, without any hiccups. Now, they faced the second scene, which involved a thrilling fight. Meiying, embodying the character of Xiu Ying, chased a man through the hallway. However, he managed to slip inside a room and jammed the door shut, trapping her outside.

"You can stay inside for all I care! Just know that I'm a detective, and I could call for backup right now. They would swiftly break down your door and apprehend you!" Xiu Ying exclaimed with a grin, retrieving her phone from her pocket. However, as luck would have it, Wei Long coincidentally stepped out of the elevator and witnessed Xiu Ying standing in front of someone else's door.

Xiu Ying noticed his gaze and quickly urged him, "Get in now! It isn't safe!"

Without hesitation, Wei Long entered his room, but Xiu Ying's attention was redirected to her ringing phone. As the door in front of her unexpectedly swung open, the man she had been chasing lunged at her with his head, driving it forcefully into her stomach. She recoiled, hitting her back against the wall and tumbling to the ground.

Determined, she attempted to retrieve her gun from its holster, but the man knocked it out of her hand, sending it skidding across the hallway. In a swift motion, he produced a knife from his pocket, poised to strike.

Xiu Ying, unfazed by the danger, evaded the impending attack with impeccable timing. Rising to her feet, she delivered a powerful kick to his leg, forcing him to kneel. As she moved to retrieve her gun once more, he made another desperate attempt to wield his knife, causing her to step back cautiously. The man, wearing a sinister smile, stood upright again, ready to resume the assault.

Unfazed by the escalating threat, Xiu Ying mirrored his smile. "You may get away with killing me, but you'll have to face my partner for my death. He will hunt you down until you are dead," she warned, her voice dripping with conviction.

"I don't care! Today, you die!" he growled, charging at her with a piercing scream, the knife poised to strike.

Swift as lightning, Xiu Ying evaded the attack, narrowly avoiding the blade. Seizing the opportunity, she grabbed his outstretched hand, attempting to disarm him. However, he retaliated by delivering a punch to her stomach, causing her to collapse to the ground.

As she fought to gather her bearings, he laughed menacingly, lunging towards her, brandishing the knife menacingly. Xiu Ying, driven by instinct, held it off just long enough for Wei Long to make his timely appearance. With a swift swing of a chair, he struck the man, sending him sprawling to the side.

Rushing to Xiu Ying's side, concern was etched across his face. She looked up at him, surprise painted across her features, but before she could utter a word, the man on the ground stirred once again, raising the knife in Wei Long's direction.

Reacting swiftly, Xiu Ying pushed Wei Long out of harm's way, only to feel the searing pain of the blade plunging into her own chest. Blood gushed forth as she let out a piercing scream, the agony consuming her.

Wei Long, overwhelmed with shock, tightly clenched the now broken chair, swiftly delivering a forceful blow to the assailant's head, rendering him unconscious. He immediately bent down to Xiu Ying's side, cradling her head in his trembling hands.

"Please, call Huo Wu," she whispered weakly, her words intermingling with a gasp of pain, "tell him I hate his eyes... he will understand." In a desperate attempt, she handed him her phone before succumbing to unconsciousness. Wei Long's eyes widened in disbelief as he shook her gently, his voice filled with distress.

"Okay, cut!" the director exclaimed, interrupting the intense scene. The crew erupted into applause, praising Meiying for her exceptional portrayal of Xiu Ying in the fight scene. Meiying, her body covered in fake blood, stood up from the ground, gratitude shining in her eyes.

"Thank you," she responded to the director's praise, a smile adorning her face. He then instructed her to go home and rest, acknowledging the grueling effort she had put into the day's shoot.

Meiying swiftly changed her clothes, attempting to slip out of the building unnoticed, when Zhou Lumei intercepted her path.

"What do you want?" Meiying asked, her tone laced with annoyance.

"Nothing, just wondering if you've found your husband... oh right Xuejian isn't around because he found out that his gorgeous wife was seen naked by the actor she is being paired with," Zhou Lumei sneered, a mocking tone underlying her words. Meiying's patience waned, and she grabbed Zhou Lumei's shirt, yanking her closer.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY," Meiying hissed, her eyes ablaze with anger.
