CHAPTER 20

"It has been twenty peaceful years for me after everything that happened even though I still missed my mother and grandpa,Mr McGuire came to see me after my 24th birthday,he said I was old enough to know the truth about what happened to my family,he explained everything and he also came with a grown up lady whose face looked familiar whom he said was the sister my mother gave birth to before dying.

He explained that the reason why she was pronounced dead was because someone had planned with the nurses to kidnap her immediately after she was born to threaten them,that was why they had to hide her from everyone.Brenda as he called her was my mother's carbon copy,there was to need to ask who she was because she was my mom's replica.

I walked up to her and hugged her,Mr McGuire said he was leaving her in my care and that we were going back to our country in six months time and asked be to prepare myself for anything that would happen.

He told me that Sebastian was very much alive and he has been trying to harm me in every way he can but it wasn't successful because I was in the states and we also had a lot of hidden bodyguards.

I promised him that I was going to take care of myself and also my sister,I thanked Mr McGuire and he left.

Immediately he left,I sat beside my sister and asked her how she had cope all this while,she said Mr McGuire made sure she didn't lack anything,she was brought up by a family who were skilled in martial art.

I forgot about my fears of what I was going to face when I went back to claim the Carlos empire and tried to bond with the only family I had left,my sister.

Brenda was funny,caring and naughty,those six months we spent together in the states were filled with nothing but happiness,I took her to where our mother was buried and promised our mother to take care of my junior sister.

When we were still talking,Brenda and I noticed some strange movement in a distance,I had spent 7years in a military camp according to grandpa's instructions before going back to school so those little movements couldn't escape my eyes.

I quickly pressed the signal button on the wristwatch in my hand to alert my hidden guards,as we were trying to move towards our car,A bullet was shot,my sister pushed me down and the bullet grazed her hand leaving a bruise.

I took out my licensed gun and started shooting on target,I was able to kill three of the men and my bodyguards quickly surrounded them and killed them all.

The guards escorted us to the car and drove us back home,I apologized to Brenda for not protecting her as I had promised,I helped her in treating the bruise the bullet had caused in her arm but I couldn't stop feeling guilty.

Brenda hugged me and promised me that she was fine,she said it was our duty to protect each other and she was not guilty as she would have saved me again if such situation occured again.

After the incident,our lives became peaceful again,we had to stay another one year because Brenda was not through with her education,I was still managing my grandfather's company which was in the states.

Brenda always asked me about my love life but there was no one,she even tried matchmaking me with her friends but it wasn't working out.

I just hadn't found the right person,even Brenda had to give up when she was that I was not interested,she even joked about me been a gay at one time but I told her I was a straight guy,I had to take a test to assure her that there was nothing wrong with me.

One year after,we packed our things and went to the airport,we had to change our identities and flight time at the die minutes.

After our plane landed,we saw a news that the plane we were supposed to board in the first place crashed and there was no survivals.

I had goosebumps all over me because I knew if we had boarded then we would have been dead,even my sister was shivering,I already got a new house as I didn't want to stay in my parents house.

I opened the door and the first thing I saw was welcome back written with blood,I quickly tore it off so that my sister would not see it.

There and then I promised myself that I was going to protect my sister even if it would cost my life.
