Chapter 2 Elephant's Trunk on Giraffe's body

This date was not that special but the same can't be said for the night before.

27 December 2199, the date which he will remember for the rest of his life as the day he comes back in time; but not just him others will remember it too as the date itself holds a great significance for humanity; as yesterday marks a century since the 'Calamity'. On this date a century ago the Capitals of Five great superpowers were bombed using nuclear warheads at the exact same time.

No one knows for sure who were the masterminds behind that operation and how they achieved such feet as it was so sudden that no one expected such a thing, no radar cached from where the warheads were fired till today. There are many theories - some claiming it works of one of the superpowers, some say it was one of the small powers were the real culprit, or some claiming a terror organization in the dark, but the truth never surfaced.

As for the Five Superpowers who were already on the edge for the last two decades. This event broke the last bit of balance of the world and what was left behind was chaos. Nuclear weapons, biological weapons, hydrogen bombs, and whatever was left started being fired left and right. Earth became the true definition of hell. More than 60 % of the human population and 75% of the species inhabiting the planet were wiped out in the 3 years in which the war occurred. 3 years may sound too little of time for a war to conclude but in this particular war, there was left nothing worth fighting for after 3-years.

But that was not the end after the war the destruction caused the arrival of nuclear winter. For the ones left it was at this time, they started to question whether was it worth surviving but what could they do, they couldn't even blame anyone as the organizations that were part of the war has long since perished or disbanded. With no one to guide or blame the people could only fend for themselves. Society actually regressed to the point of the past without any order or goal. They were not that much different from those ancient nomads except for houses of cement, some technical devices that still worked, and a blanket of air full of radiations. The already low populations started declining again diseases were everywhere; humanity was in such a vulnerable stage that from the original population less than 5% was left alive at the end of 10 years.

Thinking of this Daniel looked towards his hand which he slowly clenched into a fist and mumbled, "but as I have said one thing commendable about humanity is their ability to adapt" saying this he looked toward the mirror in his room where there was a reflection of a handsome man with height around 6'4 feet; he may be on a thin side if compared to an average person but has a face that makes no girl decline an invitation for conversation over drinks, but that was what would have happened in normal time. In today's society, there is no meaning for the term handsome or beautiful. The 5% that survived actually adapted! Yes, humans actually adapted to radiation in the environment and now see's radiation as a resource albeit a risky one. Now humans who have been stuck on a stage of evolution for a really long period had actually taken a drastic step forward; now our bodies are stronger, faster, more durable most of all it now ages slowly.

Yes, you heard it right the life expectancy of humans actually increased Humans now age slower than the ones before the calamity! Many of the Diseases of the past are now history. As of now, a well-fed normal human can live easily for 160-180 years. and that is an estimate for any average joe. It is said for the ones with big pockets can actually take supplements and live for as long as 300 years !!! As such the value of qualities such as beauty is no longer a priority This doesn't mean that it has no value it's just that on a scale of 10 almost everyone is now a 7 or above.

our protagonist himself has a face that can be given a rating of 9, but being in such a thin frame it just doesn't stand out.

"I really should start eating things other than instant noodles or it would be an embarrassing moment for when I show my dick to the women in my future harem.
