Chapter 1 Balance

Early morning, A man can be seen laying on the floor of his room he would occasionally start laughing which would then turn into a frown, after which he would again start laughing, this kept repeating for a while but then the man started to speak to himself

"If someone saw me like this, he would think I am mad, heck even I would have thought I have gone insane if not for pain I am feeling was so real. But to think I traveled back in time, Man it must be because of the whole good karma I Daniel Bright have accumulated. After all who else besides me would be kind enough to show people the path to enlightenment...'

Really if it wasn't for me robbing them of their money, wife's and daughters how would they all be able to achieve true peace of mind being surrounded by worldly possessions and desires, Afterall once a wise man said 'A man can only be one with himself when he has nothing else left.' If not me then who else can bear the burden of their wealth and responsibility for those poor women who are left behind."

While saying all this Daniel was nodding his head like a wise person as if he really believed what he said. If someone would have heard what he while seeing the innocent expression on his face said he would have coughed blood out due to the shamelessness of the claims he was making.

After mumbling to himself for a while longer the man got back of in his feet again and suddenly his whole aura changed and a huge smile was plastered on his face, but the look in his eyes would make even the devil's shudder. "Now that I am back let's make chaos all over the world again."

Daniel could be seen sitting on the edge of his window slurping down instant noodles; he devoured them like a hungry beast and would pause sometimes to swallow it down while beating his chest to avoid choking. At his side there could be seen seven empty packets littered around everywhere after fishing the Eight he finally took a deep breath, "finally I can feel my stomach full, man I really thought I will pass out while waiting for the water to boil, but why the hell does it feels like I have been starving for weeks. But one thing's for sure after eating five-star food every day for years it sure in hell feels weird to eat instant noodles again."

After that, he gazed out of the window toward the boundary of the university across which there were sky-high buildings and wide roads some people could be seen going around in tracksuits probably for a morning run as it was still early morning, everyone was in a good mood to start a new day. Walking in small groups chatting with one other, looking at them Daniel mumbled; "Humanity for sure is a weird species it can create as much it can destroy, it can follow Order as much it can encourage chaos but one thing we have worth praising is that they can adapt " Looking at the back of people now at the end of the street he continued "who would have thought 70 years ago these people would have killed one other for a loaf of bread and even sold their wives and daughters for a blanket and a roof."

This may all sound like a joke now but it was a hash mind-numbing reality before. It all started 120 years ago in the year 2080 throughout the century the humanity was in its peak form. New innovations were coming almost everyday science was having one breakthrough after another and now humanity had set its sight on the next planet MARS.

All the superpowers have had their fair share of missions on Mars and were eager to make it habitable for themselves and the goal was finally in sight but then came the important question,

'The pie was in front of them and there were too many people in the room, now how should they share it, and moreover why should they share it?'

That's when things started going south, you see human greed knows no bounds and no one wants the short end of the stick. To top it all off the population had reached fucking 30 billion and there were negligible resources left on Earth, so no one was willing to compromise as such conflicts started to arise. Smaller powers started having wars with each other all the time. They had to, as they were the Chess pieces of the five great Superpowers to play around with. So that they don't endure heavy losses themselves. The world was a mess, but all in all, it was in balance; a delicate one but an essential one.

The balance was kept for two decades as no one could imagine what would happen if it broke...

Thinking of this Daniel gazed at his mobile screen where the date was visible...
