The meeting in New York

28.06.2034

While a lot of things happened around the world, an important meeting was held in the UNO headquarter.

„I still can't believe that the dragon survived our missiles. I don't even want to know how hard its skin is. How is it even able to fly with its weight?"

„No idea. It is already a world-wide calamity that they appear at any moment anywhere, but we can't even kill all of them."

„Don't panic. The activity of the dragon is becoming less and less. The generals thinks that it is greatly injured. It should die in the next few days."

The majestic and big room contained the 195 members of the United Nations with their own adviser and interpreter. Soon over 180 people of different research companies came into the room.

One of them was Steven and two other scientist from the Mirai Research Company.

Compared to the other people in the room, Steven was very tense.

He knew that they had made some research about the monsters that Ben had brought, but except that he didn't supervise any other researches.

The stack of paper Ben had brought or given them didn't add up to the short time of research. As he was the CEO, he would have to show their results.

´Aren't these papers faked? I don't know Ben much, but would he risk everything. No. The boy is strange. He never had problems with money. Could it be that he has other companies? Or did he pay other companies for these informations?

Ahhh. I hate to think. I won't find an answer!

I need to stay calm. As long as do my best, Ben wouldn't kick me out.

Even if this goes wrong, I can just blame Ben. I am just a fake CEO.

At least I received a good salary and it will make my CV a lot more interesting.

Even girls love CEOs.

Steven! You need to stay focused. I will talk before the most powerful people on this world. I will maybe even be on the Television.´

With these chaotic thoughts, Steven waited for the meeting to begin.

After the introduction of the meeting, the word was given to the companies.

Naturally, the more famous one were the first in the line.

As the CEO of small and unknown company, Steven was one of the last in line.

The presentation of each company were similar and different at the same time.

While the methods were similar and the result were different or not very informativ.

The first point, which had been repeatedly explained, was that the monster had an overall better body. Their strength, speed and defense were stronger than any regular animal.

The second point, which had been recently discovered, was that Neurotoxin was very effective against most monsters.

The third point, which was for first time presented, was that most monster showed more Intelligence than regular animals. After inspecting many monster brains, it was found that some medium-danger monster had an IQ comparable to a human.

The fourth point was about the metabolism and the DNAs of the monsters.

Still the results were meager till that point. Just then it was finally Steven's turn.

The audience had already became quite loud as nothing was expected from the smaller companies.

At the podium, Steven and his team prepared their powerpoint präsentation.

Compared to the other groups, which had very detailed but low informatic präsentation, their powerpoint only briefly talked about each subject.

„Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, welcome and thank you for coming together in this extraordinary international effort to address a human crisis like no other in our lifetimes: the monster invasion.

My name is Steven Jesserwy, and I'm the CEO of Mirai Research company…"

Having already heard similar introduction at least 100 times, the audience went back to their chit-chatting or tried to focus while feeling extremly tired.

But this changed after the next minute. Steven began with asking the question everyone had: „Why are the animals so strong compared to our own?"

He made a dramatic break and followed with:

„We suspect an other wordly energy has slowly improved the animal's physic and mental. You ask why we, the Mirai Research Company, believe that the cause is an unknow energy? Simply, because it has slowly changed some humans. Yeah. You heard, right! Could we become stronger and better? These are alll questions I will slowly answer."

With the dramatic talking and the new information, the audience became calm and concentrated on the präsentation.

Steven gave some fake statistics coupled with real pictures from monster.

He then showed the forum's answer from Ben's questions.

„We can't make humans experiments, so we can't exactly prove that these people really exist and that they really are affected from the energy. Thus we will need other companies help to prove that point.

Coming back to the question about why we are so sure about the cause being a new form of energy. We actualy aren't a 100% sure, but we found a way to mesure approximately the amount of foreign energy that was absorbed by the bodies.

Each monster has a new sort of field. The field doesn't affect the environment, but it stops to a certain degree other fields.

With our two caged monsters we measured two different strong fields.

After measuring the thickness of the field, we multiplied it with its surface and we came to a result that may show us the energy-level.

We concluded that the stronger the field, the more energy has been absorbed and so it is able to have more world-shaking abilities.

While we often heard from the other speeches about the differences between animals and monsters, I want to make a classification for the world.

We found out that each monster had certain characteristics. Now our team believes to have found the source of their stronger characteristics.

A classification on the characterics may seem worthless as we can't measure them directly, but our company believes that we may develop our own characteric.

So we should plan a way to classify the strength of the people…"

Following with some small explanation on the human body and different corpses, Steven slowly introduced each attribute to the speechless audience.

„...you can see yourself that the complexity of the body would take hours to reflect on numbers. So our scientist found a fast and simple way to reflect the bodies under attributes. We only use Strength, Agility, Vitality, Stamina, Resilience and Intelligence in our first generation classification. Doing that…"

The audience was split into many different groups. Most of the audience that the CEO was just a storyteller, who wanted to gain attention and fame.

Others believed in some parts of the speech and planned to make the following research on his arguments.

And lastly, there was a small group, who believed in the whole concept and classification. They planned to prove the assumption of the Mirai Research Company.

Having explained each attribute and the ways to measure them, Steven finished his speech with a short summary of their discoveries.

„Firstly, we have the theorie of the life energy known as EXP. We used the term, because it can be gained by killing monsters like in the RPGs.

We still need to find humans, who may have absorbed such energy, so we count on the present companies to look for such humans.

Secondly, we found out of the possibility to measure the amount of absorbed EXP by measuring the EXP-field with magnetic fields. Although we believe in the existence of the field, we still need to do a lot of research on it. We hope to make a sort of level system to classify the level of absorbed EXP, but till that point we hope that the terms can be changed from threat to level.

Thirdly, we made a simple classification for future use and to classify the different bodies of monsters. The classification concept may have been created, but it still needs further details and improvement to be used.

As I used more time than all the other speaker, I want to thank you for having listened. I hope that the informations and concepts may be of use for the crisis.

Mirai Research Company wishes the leader of the world all the luck to withstand this storm!"

While Steven and his team leaders descended from the podium, the audience was loud as never before. Some angry shouts, negative comments and even laugher could be heard in the background.

Steven was as pale as a sheet of paper. He felt sick and wanted to puke his lunch out, but the people stared at him from everywhere.

They fled out of the building. On the way different companies exchanged short phrases with them. Some wanted to exchange numbers, others just mocked them.

Everyone was clear that a lot in the speech was assumption, so it was not difficult to mook their theorie. But compared to giving almost nothing, many people took his speech as a fresh change.

Not only did the speech give new pointers, but they directly gave concepts and a direction to research. In the end, the speech could be seen as being successful.

The negative feedback was just a normal reaction caused mostly by fear and jealousy.

While Steven went home, the leader of the world stayed for a few other speeches.

In truth, their concentration was mostly on conversations about Mirai Research Company. Looking at the past of the company and talking about the credibility of the information given.
