Enemies Often Meet On A Narrow Road

After confirming the visiting date with Old Madam Su, Lin Qing decided to purchase appropriate gifts for both elders before visiting their house.

Lin Qing acquired herself VIPs tickets and checked the location of the auction from google then asked the system.

System assured her that it wasn't a dangerous place , well it was located in a county side but was it was large luxurious villa. Although it didn't seem suspicious, Lin Qing still brought her bodyguards and a personal assistant along.

After settling into her seat, which was a little box seat with VIP status, the host began the auction.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Flower Gazing Auction House. Tonight, we have an exceptional collection of artifacts and art pieces up for auction. I'd like to remind you all to keep your bidding paddles ready as we move forward with our first item."

There were whispers among the audience: "This is my first time here. I'm excited to see what's on offer."

"I heard the pink heart diamond would be sold in this auction "

"Some of the items are from royal family of Han Dynasty "

and host started the auction so whispering stopped "Our first item is a rare Ming Dynasty vase. Starting bid is 50 thousand dollars. Are we ready for our first bid?"

The bidding began, with sounds of paddles and people yelling their bids. It took half an hour for Lin Qing to find something she liked - a rare ink stone from the Qing dynasty. Since Old Man Su enjoyed calligraphy, Lin Qing decided to buy it for him. She bid 20 thousand dollars first. The host said, "Thank you, Bidder 3. Do we have any other bids?" There was an old man bidding as well, but Lin Qing continued to bid until she reached 200 thousand dollars, at which point the old man gave up.

Host: "Very well. Bidder 3 is the owner. You can take the receipt from downstairs."

The next item was a modern painting by a renowned artist, with a starting bid of 25 thousand dollars. The bidding continued until someone acquired it for 300 thousand dollars.

The auction continued for another 20 minutes until Lin Qing found something else that caught her eye - a Tiffany & Co. Brand "Chrysanthemum" pattern sterling silver coffee and tea set. This also had few potential buyers, so it took 75 thousand dollars for Lin Qing to acquire it.

The next item was a rare jade carving from the Han Dynasty and sold for 500 thousand dollars. While watching the auction unenthusiastically, Lin Qing asked the system, "Is this auction house a scene from the novel? I feel like I'm missing something."

System was silent.

Lin Qing first didn't think much of it but her eyes scanned the bidders and other guests.

Lin Qing didn't want to encounter this hateful person at all .

It felt like the system was concealing information from her for entertainment, as long as she wasn't dead or severely injured, wouldn't that mean the plot could continue?

At this point, Lin Qing decided to no longer consider the system as her friend. This little guy had a mission, and she knew nothing about it. Perhaps it was a creepy alien came to observe human life, or maybe it was a demon sent by the demon king?

Everything seemed plausible at the moment.
