This was because the flame wasn't burning automatically because they were his innate skills. They were burning because he had achieved control over his Mental energy. Now he could incorporate this Mental energy into his Mana type skills and even pure mental skills.

<Congratulations: You have unlocked a new innate ability, <True spirit>

<True spirit: Innate ability>

True human gains ability to control soul/ mental energy.

Mental concentration recovery: +100%

Spiritual endurance: +100%...

Mental energy was an abstruse kind of energy fundamentally different from Mana but had similar controlling methods. But even with that, controlling one's Mental energy was difficult and Xuanyuan only had an easier time due to his Mana control and his innate abilities and mastering it came with astounding benefits.

The realm of spirituality was a virtual reality game players can access only with their minds. The gaming devices receive signals, commands and information directly from the player's brain making it very realistic and exciting. Players' in-game bodies are only avatars created by the God system but within this avatar is an immortal spirit. This immortal spirit do not bestow benefits or attributes. It is what allow players to be ressurected after death.

Dying in the Realm of spirituality only came with Exps and dropping. No real damage is done to their real bodies on Earth. And players are ressurected when a new body that's only a few points weaker from their previous body is built upon the immortal spirit. This process might seem insignificant but it's of utmost importance.

Saints in the Realm of spirituality possess powerful skills that deal damages to mental power also regarded as the Immortal spirit. Another way to damage them is by attacking with mental energy. This might not be dangerous to players of the same tier but against players of inferior tier, it can be very fatal and in some instances, victims will be unable to enter the Realm of spirituality for days. A player might even be unable to enter the Realm of spirituality forever unless their Immortal spirit is restored and this can only be achieved by tier 6 existences who have attained a high level in Mental strength.

This was why, players would avoid provoking NPCs Guilds with tier 5 powerhouses. After all, with their current mental power, a spell won't even be needed to heavily injure their immortal spirit.

Currently, Xuanyuan's mental concentration was at tier 4 peak standard, too high for a player. He could withstand the terrifying mental power of tier 5 Saints thus making it difficult to destroy his immortal spirit. With his newfound control over his Mental energy, he could incorporate his mental energy into his attacks to deal damage to the spirit. Now he could injure a player's Immortal spirit to prevent them from logging in for a while easily. But he couldn't destroy immortal spirits yet because even though they were weak, destroy immortal spirits wasn't child's play either. But to be able to injure a players' immortal spirit was already overpowered in itself. If players are to learn of this, they'd either find ways to defend themselves against him or avoid him like plague. He was not someone the various players would be willing to provoke at this stage of they learnt of his newfound abilities...

Xuanyuan stood up and headed towards the Holy temple in front of him. He'd already gained massive benefits just by training in this legacy land and even if he failed the trial, he wouldn't lose much.

The environment inside the Holy temple was a Stark contrast compared to the wilderness that surrounded it. Rather than the desolate environment devoid of ambient Mana, the atmospheric Mana inside the temple was very dense as it had condensed into mist that flowed around in the temple. There was even a foreign kind of energy that was purer than any kind of Mana he'd ever experienced although it only existed in trace amounts, it was enough to give him palpitations. Just by standing inside the temple, be could feel his mind being refreshed from the fatigue he'd suffered from overexerting his mind. His thought process rose to unprecedented levels so high that he felt he'd be able to master a combat technique within 10 mins if he trained within this place. Such a wonderful training environment made him feel as if he'd been wasting his time all this while. If not because this was only a trial ground and because he had numerous things to attend to on the main realm, he wouldn't want to leave this place.

"It's been so long" A hoarse voice suddenly jolted him out of his fantasy. Xuanyuan looked over and saw a female figure covered in cobwebs at the far end of the Hall. This figure was clad in tattered armor and even the Greatsword with about half of its height buried in the ground beside her looked so old as if a light breeze was all it would take to destroy it. This person appeared so harmless that even a noob at the beginning town could effortlessly take care of her.

But Xuanyuan didn't have such a relieved expression on his face as he could clearly see who this person is with his <true eyes>

Introduction: Guardian of the legacy land...

"I didn't think I'd ever get to meet a true human in my lifetime" Lenneth began. "Seems like the humans still have hope" she continued.

"To have reached this place shows how talented you are but you're still so weak" she said. "You can't fight me so you should give up this trial already"

"I have to fight you?" Xuanyuan asked.

"Yes" she replied thinking Xuanyuan was intimidated. "You're still too weak. Maybe if you were a true human King, you might stand a chance. You'd be fortunate to even deal a -1 damage in your current state" she said...
