Year 1 ~ {The Seal is Formed}

The large conference room was quite as the arrival of the Norns was awaited. the room was dully lit leaving the face of those in it not fully visible yet they could see themselves without trouble.

The silence in the room was soon disturbed by a loud sound of what seemed to be a whistle. The once dark room was suddenly flooded with radiant light of multiple colors. In the light were three female figures dress in fine robes and brilliant jewels.

Every other person in the room gets up and bows in union.

"Is everything ready?" one of the three figures in the light asked, her voice carrying such calmness, it immediately put everyone at ease.

"Yes, Goddess Verdendi. The survivors from the Realm of Dreams and the Realm of Dawn have all been gathered according to Athana, Minerva, Isis's instructions" one of the people in the room replied.

"Good" the second Norn, Urd said "The two realms have gone through unspeakable things in the last few years. This is the most we can do to secure the future of the three realms."

Skuld raised her staff and tapped twice on the ground. A white magic circle formed beneath her feet quickly spreading throughout the room and beyond.

"Remember, we do this to prepare the humans of the Realm of Glory. Teach them all that is to be known and hopefully, in ten years, a savior will emerge" Skuld said.

The white magic circle under her feet quickly changed form and ancient inscriptions appeared in it forming a seal

"From here on, we hand humans destiny to fates" the three goddesses cried in union and vanished along with the dazzling light they came in.

The hallway of ISIS High School was quite except for the repeated sound of shoe on the tiled ground of the hall.

A student of the school walked down the hall dressed in the school's smart uniform - a dark blue trouser with white shirt under the school's blue jacket and tie.

This is Sasuke Kazuyuki, a final year science student. He was just returning from the principal's office which explained his current posture. With his hands burried in his pocket and head cast down, hair covering his face, Sasuke walked down the hall lost in his thoughts.

The last bell of the day rang just as Sasuke reached the door to his classroom. The door opened and students began walking out in groups, chattering among themselves.

"Sasuke" a voice called making him raise his head.

Haruki Yukiharu walked out of the class with his bag sling over his shoulder and walked towards him. Sasuke let a smile slip unto his face. Haruki is his oldest and closest friend.

Sasuke had forgotten how exactly they became friends but he had known the brown haired - black eyed kid for ten years now.

"Hey, you weren't in class today" Haruki said when he stood in front of him.

"mm" Sasuke hummed in reply. "I'll tell you when we get to the cafe"

"What! You're going to get kicked out of the school?!" Karuki's voice was loud after hearing Sasuke's story.

Sasuke rolled his eyes "Yell a little louder and even my dead grandfather will hear you" he said and picked his drink.

They were currently at Haruki mother's cafe. The small shop had very few customers after-all they lived in the poorest part of the city. Yet, Sasuke felt like his family was the poorest.

It wasn't always like this. Sasuke could still remember two years ago his family was still doing better than haruki's. It wasn't until his mother suddenly fell ill with an uncommon disease that things started falling apart for the family.

"Sorry," Haruki apologized and took a quick look around the shop. "but what are you going to do? Won't you tell your dad?"

Sasuke shook his head and takes another slip of his drink. He wished he could but...

"Sakura was forced to dropout of school last year because dad couldn't afford the fees anymore. I think i'll dropout too and find a job. At least that way, i can help dad save up to send Sakura back to School"

Haruki nods. Sasuke knew he was already thinking of ways to help but Haruki's family condition was only better that his by a little.

His father was an ordinary civil servant paid below the minimum wage and his mother ran this small cafe. Their family like his own debts too. Even if he wanted to help, Huruki simply couldn't.

Getting a job was Sasuke's only option. He couldn't let both he and his younger sister sit at home. If they were to survive in the future and find a cure for their mother's illness then one of them have to get a degree and Sasuke didn't care who.

However, what kind of job could a sixteen years old without a secondary school certificate get and behind their parent's back too?

Haruki's phone beeped and he picked it up. After reading the message on the screen, his eyes grew wide and a laugh escaped his lips. He pocketed the phone and looked at Sasuke.

"Sasuke, i have a perfect solution to your problem" he said "Come on, lets go, hurry"

Sasuke didn't have the time to ask questions as he was pulled out of the cafe and into the dusty street.
