I Want To Be Like The 'Chosen One'

"hmmmmmm-ahhhh"

The girl stretched after reaching the top of the hill and then proceeded to talk to herself.

"Oh Yes! I can finally see the city!"

Suddenly more energetic, the girl named Videl started walking faster towards her dream. Her black hair put up in a long pony tail that reached just past the center of her back swished back and forth as she went. The leather armor her dad gifted her for her eighteenth birthday was dyed blue and fit perfectly around her petite bosom.

She was so excited that she started running towards the city. She had finally qualified to join a Familia after turning eighteen no more than three weeks ago. Having already been traveling for about two weeks to the city were the Familia run by the 'Chosen One' she idolized was stationed, she could not hold herself back. She was going to join her idols' Familia, the Tatsuya Familia, if it was the last thing she did.

As Videl ran down the hill, the city disappeared behind the tree line. However, not being able to see Pendragon City did not discourage her one bit and she even started to reminisce about how she obtained this dream of hers in the first place.

Around six years ago when she was only twelve years of age her village was attacked by bandits. She had been playing outside with the other children in the village when they showed up.

"Oh-ho, look at these gift-wrapped children left outside for us! The perfect hostages!"

"I know right, with these kids the women will be easier to subdue. Hahaha!"

Videl and the other kids at this point were cowering behind each other in fear unable to run. Then the first bandit to speak approached with his scimitar pointing at the kids.

"Be good little kiddies and come here. Hehe…"

It was at this moment that a figure flew out of the nearby restaurant (the only one in the village) and the clang of swords was heard right in front of Videl.

"Interrupting my meal time by attack poor defenseless children while the men of the village are out hunting… I don't even know which offence is more infuriating to me but either way, I do not believe any of you are leaving here alive today." The young women wearing a black cloak with her long golden blond hair spilling out of her hood now standing in front of the children explained while holding her katana.

The bandit that seemed to be the leader ignored what she said and looked her up and down with a smug look on his face.

"Hehe… What a fine piece of goods we have here. I can't wait to sink my fangs in to ya," he said with low teasing voice. "Alright boys let's get her!"

Unfortunately, the bandits didn't know who they were dealing with, because if they had, they would have turned and ran away as fast as possible had they recognized the young women they were trying to conquer at this moment. As for the kids, they recognized the women to be the adventurer who arrived in the village yesterday and they regained their hope of being able to survive to the end of the day.

Walking slowly towards the young women, the bandits couldn't believe what they saw.

"Hahaha, what are putting your weapon away for? I thought I heard you say you were going to kill us. We are not rethinking our decisions now, are we?" The bandit leader openly mocked.

The young women who had calmly sheathed her katana smiled as she began to crouch down while holding the hilt with her right hand.

"Look boys, she's even cowering in fear! Hahaha!" exclaimed the bandit.

It was at this moment that, from the point of view of Videl and the other kids, they saw the young women lift here katana out of it sheath slightly before returning it. As for the Bandits, they were too busy laughing to notice.

"And with that you all have already been ended." The young women said in a quiet voice.

Hearing this the bandits all stopped laughing. Not because they wanted to stop but because they couldn't anymore. With shock on their faces the heads of the bandits rolled off their bodies to the ground and a few seconds later their bodies followed.

Shocked that she took out all the bandits so easily, it took a while for the village people that gathered to watch, as well as, the children to react.

"The bandits are gone!!" was cheered by everyone multiple times.

When the village people had sent a request to the nearby city of pendragon for protection during their villages hunt, they had been surprised when only one young woman showed up. When she introduced herself as Tiana Tatsuya, the name of the person everyone knew was a 'Chosen One' that recently started a Familia in Pendragon city, they had doubts.

However, they decided to go on the hunt regardless as they had done their best to keep the date of their hunt a secret and assuming she really was Tiana Tatsuya, maybe she could protect the village anyways.

And to their surprise, she not only straight up removed the bandit problem instead of just fending them off but she also did it so effortlessly. The villagers now believed without a doubt that this was the famous 'Chosen One'.

Videl was awestruck and would continue to follow Tiana around the village with the other children. At one point she turned around and walked up to them.

"Would you kids like to see something amazing?" Tiana asked with a smile.

"Yes!" Videl and the rest all chimed.

"Well, as I'm sure you know, I am Tiana Tatsuya a sword mage. How about I show you some sword magic."

The group walked to the clearing behind the village pulling along other villagers that were interested.

"This is what I like to call dragon flame." Tiana said after everyone settled down in the clearing to watch.

She then unsheathed her katana and shortly after it lit aflame with blue fire. Smiling at the kids in the front making Videl think she was looking straight at her, Tiana raised her flaming katana and pointed it at the sky. The blue flames on the katana suddenly formed into the head of a dragon and shot up into the sky before forming into a full dragon that flew around majestically.

Videl and the villagers were in awe and couldn't keep their eyes off the beautiful blue dragon until it returned to Tiana's katana as blue flames.

"That was amazing!"

"I wish I could do that."

And for the rest of the day, until those that went out to hunt returned, Tiana would show them more sword mage skills and Videl could not get enough of them.

After a short exchange with the village chief Tiana turned to the group and announced, "Well its time for me to log off for dinner. Later!"

To the shock of the villagers, she then disappeared into thin air. Then they remembered that 'Chosen Ones' are rumored to have this ability and didn't think much of it anymore.

"Log off?" Videl pondered those words for a few seconds before rushing over to her father and saying she wanted to be a sword mage too!

"Oh. I like the fire in your eyes. Sure, I'll train you," Her father said with a grin.

He had planned to start her training in a year or two regardless but if she already had the determination, starting early would be beneficial.

And from there she put everything into her training to the point that her father trusted her to be safe traveling to Pendragon City alone.
