Chapter 23: A Fresh Start
Avalon is a massive island. The island itself separates into three parts, the outskirts, located at the outer of the island, where the sea meets the land, usually where the fisherman lives.
Then the middle layer is where novice adventurers and merchants live. Most activities, like the market, Adventurers Guild, and announcements, occur on this part of the island.
The last is the inner layer, where the kingdom of Avalon is located, live the higher-ups of the country, elite adventurers, and knights.
The teleporter is located at the center of the middle layer, where most traffic is.
Zaine, Amy, and Albus went together to explore the Avalon to the fullest, enjoying the lively atmosphere and the culture there.
After running around the place, they stumble upon the island Adventurers Guild. A wide range of adventurers come by daily to seek out quests.
Zaine could see that some of the people there were people from the old earth, he could see that some of the guys there still wore the army uniform, but most of them had already adapted to the current world. It has become quite hard to tell the difference of the people there.
Zaine decided to check up with the quests for today and see what's in store for them.
This time, the quests are posted on a bulletin board spanning the entire building. It was the place where most adventurers gathered to look for potential explorations.
A wide array of quests is posted on the board. A few got highlighted as emergency quests or high demand.

Zaine looks at the various quests available. The hardest one {Save the World: Defeat the Dragon Lord (Part 1)}, interests him, but he knows it would not be possible.
He also noticed the adventurer's rank is a part of the requirements. He decided to meet with one of the receptionists there to enquire about the adventurer rank.
"Welcome to the Adventurers Guild. How may I help you?" Ask the receptionist with a pleasant smile on her face.
"Excuse me, How can I obtain the adventurer's rank?" Ask Zaine.
"Oh, you must be new here," The receptionist take something from below the counter.
"You can fill this up, and we will have you take a few tests to determine your rank."
"Would you join in as well?" Ask the receptionist to the two girls behind Zaine, Amy, and Albus.
"Oh! We also offer group rank. Each group will be given its corresponding rank, but the test for group rank will be different. It will be more on the group teamwork overall capabilities." Explained the Receptionist.
"Hmm, please wait a moment." Zaine looks back at both of the girls to discuss the matter.
They decided to apply as a group party and fill out the form.
"Please wait a moment." The receptionist goes into the back of the Adventurers Guild. "We have a test about to begin in just a moment. Would you be interested in taking part in it?"
Zaine nodded, and they got led by the receptionist to the guild arena to test their skill.
Upon arriving at the Colosseum, they are met with a space, with the guild official monitoring from a CCTV camera on the corner of the Colosseum.
The empty seats fill the Colosseum in silence.
"Test. test. Can you hear me?" A voice could be heard coming from a speaker.
"Yes, we can!" Zaine shouted.
"Okay, let's begin the test. We will start with the lowest difficulty and will step up from time to time. We will begin in 1 minute. Please prepare yourself." Announce the voice.
After the test began, a gate opened, and a goblin came out. It was a goblin with no special abilities, and Albus punched the goblin, killing it in one hit with blood splat all over the place.
The monster slowly got stronger and stronger, from the goblin, hounds, orc, and giant spider.
Albus defeated all of them with ease, most of them with one hit. Finally, the last monster appears, a stone golem, and Albus fires a small light beam from her hand, piercing the golem's body and breaking it down.
The instructor was shocked to see the result of the test.
"Uh, a-a perfect score, how can this be? Even only the kid is fighting." A whispering can be heard from the speaker.
They are led back to the Adventurers Guild to finalize their groups and add a name for them.
They thought about the name and came up empty. However, Zaine has a suggestion for it.
"How about Speedrunners?" Ask Zaine to his Amy and Albus.
After further discussing and coming out empty, they decided to go with Speedrunners as their group name.
They receive an adventurer card, both virtual and solid objects, which indicate their solo and group rank.
"Let me explain a bit about the card properties. You will each receive two cards, the first containing your rank, the second a rank of your group. If you do solo quests, your rank may increase, with S being the highest, followed by A, B, C, D, and E."
"For now, you are all granted the C Rank for your solo and group rank and will rank up based on your contribution on quests. You are free to do the quest by group or solo."
"If you have any question about how to rank up your group rank, the answer is by either the average member of your group is the correspondent rank, or do group quest which is dedicated for group rank ups."
"As you can see, there are rank barriers for limited quests on the bulletin board, so do your best at ranking up." Said the receptionist while finishing up the registration.
They received the card and are now ready to take on quests from the place.
