CHP 35: 2nd Month...

I sat cross-legged on the ground, my eyes closed, and my breathing steady... Or, at least, it was supposed to be steady. The frustration simmering in my chest threatened to boil over at any moment. I'd been meditating for what felt like an eternity now, trying to merge my chakra energy and ki...

The goal seemed simple enough, but the execution-was proving to be an entirely different story...

Ugh... I let out a low growl, my jaw clenched in frustration. My mind was a jumble of conflicting energies, the two opposing forces refusing to harmonize... I could feel the chakra energy coursing through my veins, but the ki remained elusive, a slippery fish that darted out of my grasp every time I thought I had it cornered...

'Damn it!'

I inhaled deeply, trying to calm my racing thoughts. Focus, Jacob. You can do this. But the more I focused, the more my mind seemed to wander. Memories of my past failures crept in the last month were surfacing again, taunting me with what-ifs and maybes.

BOOM!

I slammed my fist against the grass frustrated, the noise now echoing through the area... I sighed.

Hearing the car alarms in the distance just annoyed me more, 'Fuck...' I stopped my meditation, and I immediately fell to the ground. I rubbed my temples to try and calm myself down.

Why was this so damn difficult? I'd seen others do it with ease in the shows, their energies blended together, despite said energies being like water and oil. So, why couldn't I? Though, it wasn't as if I wasn't making any progress at all...

I actually moved from my initial 40% limit, to a decent 50% limit, but my progress was too slow, it would take me another 4-5 months to completely merge them both...

"Jacob, you ok?" I heard Bulma calling me, likely because of what had happened just a minute ago.

"Yeah, sorry Bulma, I-I had an accident..." I responded, trying to not cause worry.

"Ok, alright, be careful then..." She said, heading back inside... I felt a little bad for worrying her there, but she'll get used to it, I hope, anyway; Time to continue...

I shook my head, dispelling the negative thoughts I had. I could do this, I just needed patience. I had to do this... I took a deep breath, letting the air fill my lungs, and began again, my eyes closed, focusing...

"Hey Bulma, how's the gravity chamber coming along?" We already dubbed it the gravity chamber since it fits well with what it was...

She picked up her wrench, "About another, week tops, I just need to fix up the modulator and run some tests after, then we should be all set!" She said cheerfully.

"Great, that should be enough for what we need to do, thanks for this, Oh! I'm gonna go train with Goku and Piccolo again, see you in a few." I saluted, flying off in the distance...

After getting a good distance away, I checked up on my status again...

'My progress is slowing down considerably... And even if I try to use my weighted seals, they aren't heavy enough for me, since my chakra capacity can't create weights higher than my current level of power...' 

I was still the strongest, but Goku and Piccolo aren't pushing me much anymore, since the power I can use increased, I could easily handle them both well enough now individually. Thankfully, we'll be getting that gravity chamber pretty soon.

I saw both Goku and Piccolo already waiting, while stretching, while the latter just stood there, likely thinking he was cool...

"Seems like you guys are here early, let's not waste our time and get this started then!" I saw the both of them smirk, before charging towards me...

FWISH!

Piccolo lunged at me with his Ki-blade formed, its tip crackling with energy, "Hmph! You're no match for us both anymore, Jacob!" he taunted, his voice like thunder...

He was right, they were very close to me at the power I had now. The only thing keeping me in this match

I sidestepped the attack, dodging the sword by a hair's breadth. Goku, meanwhile, had already closed the distance, his fists flying in a flurry of punches. I raised my arms, blocking the blows with my forearms yet feeling the sting of it all, the impact sending shockwaves through my body...

I felt my blood boiling after that one...

"You're fast, Kakarot, but I'm not going down yet!" I retorted, counterattacking with a swift kick. Goku leapt into the air, avoiding the kick by a whisker, before unleashing a Kamehameha wave that sent me stumbling back.

Piccolo seized the opportunity, striking me with a powerful blast of energy from his staff. I raised my hands, conjuring a shield of energy to deflect the attack. The force of the blast sent me stumbling backward, but I caught myself mid-air.

'Cocky fuckers...' I smiled, feeling my anger flare more than I let it should have for a battle like this... With a raised hand, I quickly charged my ki, lighting crackling around me as I did so...

Goku on the other hand looked shocked, "No, wait!" He shouted, I saw him grabbing Piccolo, to move out of the way...

"HAA!!!!" I shouted, yet both of them managed to dodge in the nick of time, the attack moving past them, splitting the clouds instantly after being launched...

Goku's eyes went wide, his voice laced with astonishment, "Whoa... What was that?!" Piccolo's expression mirrored Goku's, his eyes frozen in shock too. Now I was a little curious as to what the big deal even was...

"I-I felt it too..." Piccolo stammered, his voice was barely above a whisper, "His power... It didn't just triple, it's more like... It grew exponentially!" I could hear their conversation from where I was, and I was a slightly surprised...

And I raised an eyebrow, genuinely curious. "Why do you guys look like you've seen a ghost? Did I scare you both that much?"

Goku's gaze locked onto mine, his eyes searching for answers. "Wait, didn't you feel your own power in that blast? The ki in your body... It felt like a massive wave of ki."

I simply shrugged and shook my head no; a sly grin spreading across my face, "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." I didn't feel it, but that was the first time I got agitated in a fight against them, but they make it look like I exploded instead. In fact, I could've still controlled my anger pretty well too...

Piccolo's eyes narrowed, his voice laced with a hint of either concern or anger, "Jacob, you'll need to understand what's happening to you. Your power grew at an exponential rate... We'll need you to be careful, or you might just kill us..." I heard him scoff at the end...

I didn't think this was such a big deal... Actually, now that I feel my ki... I was much stronger than before. I quickly checked my status, seeing my power level shoot from 58 thousand, to 92 thousand... Ok, maybe he was right.

Whatever boost I got, I also kept the increase of it... Was it because of me being a hybrid? actually, I was mixed in with multiple different type of races with vastly different type of advantages, and saiyan blood makes hybrids stronger than normal...

Regardless, I was barely angry at the time; my power shouldn't have flared up that much from that alone... I think I should stop for today... Looking at them, I realized they were already pretty injured too.

"You know what, I think I'll take you up on the warning and stop for today... You both can train without me for the time being." I flew off towards a nearby forest to train something else...
