Chapter 8: In panic

Neil dropped the call and told Khloe that he had passed out the information to his lawyer and threatened to fire him if he failed in producing him a quick response, Khloe hearing this was a little bit glad as she had succeeded in mounting some pressure for him to make use of his powers to resolve the issue. She was not still relieved, the only way for her to feel relief was by her getting married to Neil which was one of her biggest dreams, and also, In case the truth was revealed, her baby was going to be on the safe side.

"I'm happy you are making some progress but I won't be satisfied until Mariah is completely out of your life, there I shall know you have chosen me over her but right now she is still the chosen one,"

"Give me some time, I'll make it up to you,"

"Time, time, and time. I don't have that time ." Khloe mentioned.

After the two finished discussing, they each went to bed, Khloe covered her eyes but she could not sleep, she thought of how she was going to get 6000$ so she could settle Liam, she needed to send him the money he requested as he never wanted him to reveal the truth. She knew if Liam ever exposed what happened between them that night, she could completely forget about her marriage to Neil.

The next morning was much brighter than the previous day. Mariah stepped out of bed as soon as she heard Naja's alarm. "Hey you are up already," Naja said.

"Yeah, I would love to follow you to work today!" Mariah mentioned. The two ladies were set for work and before they left, they noticed Caitlyn was still in bed and it was strange to them. She was a very hard working lady who was always up that hour. The reason being that it was at that hour she had sport. Naja who was worried about her asked what was going on and she told them she caught a cold but she said she was going to be fine in the next few hours. "If you want, I can stay home with you," Mariah said.

"No, you shouldn't do that, I'll be fine.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, but in case it worsens please inform us," Naja mentioned.

That morning, Iren's bus just arrived in the city, and she was still at the bus agency for verification which took her close to an hour, she never wanted Mariah to know she arrived already as she could beg not to meet Jane, she could only talk to her once she was done with her. Done at the agency, she stepped a little further so she could get a cab to Easton's house. The agency was far from their house and she had to take a cab if she wanted to get there early enough to meet Neil who had been ignoring her calls for some time now. Unfortunately for her, when she arrived she noticed Neil's car was no longer in the surroundings but she never lost hope as she knew Jane was inside. Given that Jane had no idea she was coming over, it was just too perfect for Iren as she intended to surprise her.

When Iren arrived at the gate, the security had been replaced with new ones so they had no idea about who she was, they demanded her to identify herself, in other to easily have access into the house, she lied to the guard saying she was an old friend of Jane, and without hesitation, the security opened the gate for her. Jane was scolded on her phone that she could not see what was going on at the gate, close to her was Khloe who was discussing with one of her friends through her phone. Jane entered and she glanced over the balcony to check if Jane was seated there, she knew she loved the balcony and she was effectively at the balcony. Seeing Khloe in her presence and discussing it got her more nervous and she rushed to go meet them as she needed some details explained.

"I can see you both are having some good time, that's great," aunt Iren said as she was clapping her hands. Khloe, hearing her voice, immediately got frightened, but she remained seated. She knew Aunt Iren couldn't harm her as she was now part of a wealthy family.

"Who let you in? You are no longer welcome to my son's house. We are done with your niece so can you now get out of here before I call on my security," Jane said looking straight into her eyes.

"That's what you think, do I have to remind you that Mariah is legally married to Neil? I hope you have a fresh memory."

"I want you to get out of my husband's house now!"

"The one you stole from me right, because that's what you both are prostitutes who can't keep their dirty legs closed when it comes to other people's love ones, but I want you all to know, that we are not done yet." Aunt Iren said while under looking Khloe and Jane.

Jane could no longer resist the insult from Aunt Iren, to rescue herself, she had to call her guards to send her out of the house, before they intervened she kept on insulting both of them. Once the guards arrived, they politely asked her to leave the villa or they were going to flung her outside. Before Aunt Iren left, she told them that she was going to be back and she asked them to pass her message to Neil.

Aunt Iren was gone and Khloe was now alone at the balcony, Jane left for her room immediately Aunt Iren was thrown out. What she said during their conflict left her with so many unanswered questions. "What did Aunt Iren meant by what she said earlier, did Madame Jane stole away her supposed husband or I did not get that well," Khloe mumbled.
