Chapter 13: His intentions

They succeeded in getting a cab for the restaurant, it wasn't easy as the road was filled up with numerous cars, they arrived at 7:50 AM, the other servants had already arrived and had resumed while waiting for her. Bobby arrived immediately after them, from their looks it seemed like they had just arrived. "What's going on, it looks like you just arrived Naja or I'm I wrong?" Bobby asked. Naja did not want to lie to her boss, so she accepted and was about to tell him why she arrived late when he interrupted. "It's strange, you've been working here for a long period of time and never did you come late, what happened?" Bobby requested.

"I'm sorry for coming late Sir, I received the visit of my aunt and had to make her breakfast before leaving, I'm sorry it won't happen again." Naja mentioned.

"Sure, I trust you. You can resume to your activities."

"Thanks, Sir," just when she was about to leave, Bobby noticed Mariah was behind her and he asked to know more about her. The last time he only accepted her working for the main time because he was about traveling, he did not have enough time to study her and she was in Naja's company and he trusted her a lot. She has been one of the rare people helping in the development of his restaurant. "What's her name and what's her specialty?" He mentioned while paying attention to her.

"Good morning Sir, I'm Mariah Edenne, I'm a digital marketer and can help the enterprise with their presence online." Mariah said politely.

"And how do you intend doing that?" Bobby requested.

"First, I'll start by creating a Facebook page for the restaurant, secondly, I will create an Instagram page for the restaurant, will equally create a website for the restaurant. Next, I'll drive traffic to the pages so more and more people can see our restaurant and see the services we offer." Mariah said with a soft voice.

"Wow, I love the idea. From now on, you are the restaurant's new digital marketer. We hope you can increase our customer base."

"Sure sir, you can count on me." Mariah said politely,"

She quietly left the area and soon joined Naja in the kitchen who had been patiently waiting for her. As soon as she saw Mariah entering, she quickly rushed to her. "What happened? Did he accept to give you a job here?" She asked as she was nervous, her hands were shaking and her eyes almost filled with tears.

"Relax. Of course, he gave me a job, I am now the restaurant's new digital marketer." Mariah said while smiling.

"Wow. You can't imagine how happy I was to hear this, for some seconds I thought he wasn't going to offer you a job, I'm glad he did." Naja mentioned.

"Yes, that's because I was able to convince him. Now it's time for me to start fresh, if Neil thinks he can pull me down then he should be joking." she said.

She helped Naja out with the food, alongside being a digital marketer she was a good cook and intended to unleash her skills at the restaurant. Meals like bean sauce, tomato porish, and fried yams were enjoyed by her by everyone who tasted it, her hands were blessed right from being a kid.

It was time for aunt Iren to get to the kitchen, she knew the foodstuff bought by Naja a while ago wasn't going to be sufficient, so she had to go out to go buy other stuff. She had no plans of getting to the market as they weren't many, she could get that at the grocery store which wasn't that far from her. Caitlyn was inside and still wasn't feeling fine, so she had to get that by herself. "Hey, Caitlin I will be going to the grocery store, to get some stuff please do take good care of yourself okay, I won't be long."

"Okay aunt, please be careful too." Caitlyn said politely.

"Do you want me to get something for you?" Iren asked.

"Oh no. I'll be fine."

Iren left for the market, while Caitlyn went down to close the door after her departure, she did not like when the door was opened for whatsoever reason, even as she was feeling weak, she accompanied her to the gate. Five minutes after Aunt Iren left for the grocery store, she heard a knock on the door. She checked the time and noticed it was just five minutes since she left. Why would she come back now? Did she forget something? "It's strange, it takes 8 minutes to get to the grocery store, I assume she forgot something. I better rush and open the door for her." Caitlyn said as she sluggishly went out of the room. Before she could get down, she heard another knock on the door, and this left her speechless, the person was knocking so harshly, why would Iren knock with such anger? "Please take a few seconds. I'm coming, Aunt Iren, did you forget something?" Caitlin said while opening the door. She was shocked to see who had been knocking on her door all this while. "You?" she said surprisingly.

"Yes, me. Where's Mariah? Go get her now, tell her I'm down and we need to talk right away."

"First, you are in my house and you don't give me orders, okay, secondly, you don't raise your voice, you aren't in one of your houses okay, the next thing, you get your fucken ass out of my house now." Caitlin yelled out. She wasn't feeling fine, but she managed to gain some energy after seeing Neil in her living room.

"I know she is in here, I don't want to create drama, just kindly ask her to come down so we solve all this, I brought the divorce papers alongside with me, all I want of her is to sign them."

"Hahaha..... You must be joking, now leave my house this minute. Don't make me call the police." Caitlyn mentioned.

Neil told her that he wasn't afraid of the police and she could go ahead and call them. She explained to him that Mariah wasn't home, but he refused to leave, he insisted, saying she was inside and had been hiding herself from him. "Why would she do that? She isn't home, she left with Naja this morning." Caitlyn said. He still did not believe her, he took a seat and was patiently waiting for her. She did not want to get to her room, leaving him lonely in her living room, she equally took a seat not far from him and had been observing him. As days unfolded themselves, Neil was becoming somebody else, she couldn't believe he was going to hate Mariah so much. Five years ago when he tried getting to her, he sounded so kind and gentle, but the man sitting in her living room was a complete stranger, he was filled up with hatred. He had been sitting there for the past 60 minutes and still had no signs of Mariah, he had wasted a lot of time waiting for her. He had other things to attend to. "I know your friend is inside and doesn't want to show herself, do tell her that I'm going to get her."

"What if you began by appropriately addressing her? My friend who is legally married to you, in other words, your one and only wife." Caitlyn said with a smile on her face.

"We are soon divorcing, so there will be no need for that."

"Soon not now, so for the meantime, you still address her as your wife okay."

Iren was done at the grocery store, it was time to get home, on arriving at the gate, she noticed a black jeep was parked in front of the gate. Did she know the car? Cause the car caught her attention. "Isn't this Neil's car? I hope it isn't because he won't love to hear from me." she said furiously
