Fumbling in the Dark

Professor Kal walked down the pitch-black corridor with purposeful steps. He now knew where they needed to go and was one step closer to being done with this troublesome matter. Rounding the corner, he approached his two students still huddled against the wall, awaiting his return.

"Let's go you two, I got what we needed."

"Already? You were only gone for like, two minutes. And you didn't even take your filthy rag with you." Ryan pointed out, pushing the nasty cloth with the toe of his boot.

Shrugging his shoulders, Professor Kal explained, "I didn't need it, she told me what I needed to know. I think she thought I was a guest."

"And you let her go? Aren't you worried about her telling someone about you?"
