Paradise Island

Arriving at the wreckage, Diana and her mother approached the group of surrounding Amazons who had their weapons drawn at the unconscious man.

One Amazon in particular although seems to have a different plan in mind as she walked closer to the man.

"I say we kill this man right here and now Artemis. It would save us the trouble of having to dirty our island further from his presence."

"Oh hush Egeria! Always thinking about the easy way out. I told you to wait for our Queen before doing anything...now look at him!" Artemis exclaimed.

Egeria raises her arms in protest.

"It's not my fault that he rushed towards me, I was just a helpless innocent bystander."

Artemis snorts.

"Innocent bystander my ass, you are twice his size. Oh Gods, I hope we don't get in trouble for this."

"There won't be any trouble if we just toss him into the sea." Egeria mutters begrudgingly.

Diana and Hippolyta then arrived at the scene. Hippolyta orders her Amazons to stand their ground as she and her daughters approach the fallen man.

Walking closer to him, Diana is able to make out his appearance.

He was dressed in a grey tattered uniform of some sorts with a flag on his right shoulder. It's symbol indicated red and white stripes with a rectangle blue in the upper left hand corner decorated along with white stars. The man before them seems to be in his mid twenties with blonde shaved hair and looked fairly young by Diana's standard.

Diana's eyes scanned over his body and saw a puncture wound near his rib cage. Looking over to her mother, Hippolyta returned her an understanding look.

"Get the man into our infirmary and patch his wounds. Make sure to keep him confined afterwards until he awakes." Hippolyta orders.

The Amazons salute their queen and follow her order.

Diana crosses her arms and walks over to the wreckage. Her eyes staring into the symbols and letters on the downed contraption.

"Men call that contraption the airplane and it allows them to take into the skies."

Diana raises her eyebrow.

"How would you know of this mother? You haven't been to man's world in many centuries."

Hippolyta chuckles before continuing.

"That is true daughter, but I have ears and eyes outside that feeds me information about the dangers of man's world. What you are looking at right now is a machinery created by men to kill and murder each other. This is one of their many inventions that they use to wreck war and bloodshed."

Diana squats down touching the material with her fingers, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Are you sure mother? It does not feel like it's that dangerous. Even the mighty minotaur beast that I have slain countlessly would seem more of a challenge than this hunk of metal."

Looking at how adorable her daughter looked, Hippolyta couldn't help but let out a hidden smile.

"Oh, but you are a strong daughter, stronger than any mortal man."

Diana remains quiet before standing up and looking towards the sea and beyond. Her beautiful blue eyes stared off into the night sky looking at all the stars. She couldn't help this uneasy feeling in her stomach. Ever since the blessing that she received from Goddess Athena, Diana noticed certain dangers and events before they happened. It wasn't like looking into the future per say, but a feeling of knowing for sure something huge and momentous is about to occur.

The morning after, the Amazons were able to wake up the fallen man and patched up his wounds.

His eyes were still groggy as he began to take in the few of his surroundings. The marble floor and white spiral columns left the man feeling like he was in heaven. In fact, the architectural structure of the building that he was housed in seems to be ancient Greek in nature. He knew this because he once took a trip to Greece when he was a teen and learned a little bit of their history and culture.

As the man was able to get up from his bed, a pointed metal spear was shoved close to his face.

Sweat poured down his back.

"Hey there lady, would you mind pointing that thing somewhere else?"

The Amazon in question did not bother to listen as she announced that the man in confinement was awake.

The soldier did not know what to do as they dragged him towards the center of the island and moved him towards a palace of sorts. He could have fought back, but it didn't seem right to lay his hands on such beautiful women. His momma had taught him manners and would whoop his ass if he dared to lay a hand on a woman.

Brought before a small audience of women cladded in Greek armor, the man was put on his knees in the center with two particular individuals looking at him.

Hippolyta signaled her Amazons and then looked at Diana and more specifically her lasso. Her daughter returned the look before understanding.

Walking over to the blonde man, Diana's eyes held some pity for how they treated him, but it wasn't her place to worry about it.

"Hey...oh wow." The man's voice choked when he looked at Diana.

She was a tall and fair-skinned woman that had curves to her body while also maintaining a tone but yet muscular build. Her face seemed to be sculpted by the Gods themselves since he had never seen a woman so beautiful in his adult life. Her face was delicate and beautiful but yet she held a strong aura and presence of a warrior.

Diana's blue stormy eyes lingered into his. He stared into her eyes for a moment before coughing. Her eyes and aura held so much presence and power that he almost bowed to the women before him.

He was about to gather himself and speak again when Diana takes out her Lasso of Truth and ties up the man with it.

"Man from the outside world, state who you are and why you've come here!"

The golden lasso begins to glow in power around the man. He looked uneasy before opening his mouth.

"I-I am Steve Trevor of the United States Air Service working with the British Intelligence as a spy. It is my duty to uncover plans within the Nazi party of potential dangers to the Allies. I've crash landed here because I tried to escape with these Nazi plans concerning the war. It is with utmost importance that I return them back to Headquarters. Something weird is happening within the Nazi party...a shift in power of some sorts."

Diana's eyes narrowed.

"What war? Why is it so important to risk your life over this plan of yours?"

"A world war, a war between the Allies and the Axis power. I have intelligence that the Nazi party is now colluding with some weird forces, they-they…" Steve Trevor tried to close his mouth.

Diana tightens her grip on the Lasso, it's color continues to glow more seriously now.

"They have experimented with some new form of energy that is about to be unleashed towards the world. Tanks, planes, and men will be no match for these new types of weaponry."

Steve Trevor pauses.

"A strange man raising within the Nazi ranks and his abilities to control this form of energy are about to be given command over the German forces. With his new found status, the German armies will be unstoppable."

"His name?"

Steve Trevor shook his head before looking at Hippolyta.

"It was strange, but he called himself Ares."

Hippolyta's eyes stared into the man as her fist tightened. Before she could speak however, there was some commotion outside.

A frantic guard comes rushing into the center.

"M-my Queen, an army of men and beasts are about to descend upon our island! The man leading the charge is-is…" The guard's face seems to be pale due to fear.

"Out with it child!" Hippolyta chides.

"It's Hercules my queen, he is back."

There was frantic chatter among the Amazons before Hippolyta had to silence them. Looking at Diana, her face still held no emotions but her eyes said otherwise. It brimmed with determination as he looked back towards her mother.

Hippolyta knew this day would come.

"Did you know this would happen, man of the outside world?"

Steve shook his head.

"No, only Nazis were chasing after me, not a Hercules."

Looking down, Diana nodded.

"He's telling the truth, mother. What should we do with him?"

A moment of silence before Hippolyta makes up her mind.

"Guards move our prisoner back to his confinement."

Steve protested but it was of no avail.

Hippolyta then makes an announcement towards the Amazons to gather their forces and meet towards the center of the island and to prepare for war.

With daughter and mother alone, Diana begins equipping her gear.

"Are you sure leaving him in the cell alone is a good ideal mother? He could be useful…"

Hippolyta shook her head.

"This battle will bring past memories that still haunt some of your sisters today. I do not want that man's blood to be spelled over my Amazon's mistake. In fact, he would be the most safe in that cell."

"I'm surprised that you are looking out for a man. I thought that you have thrown away any forms of sentiments towards them."

"Man or not, your Queen needs her Amazons at their best. It isn't for his sake, it's for our sake. Gather yourself daughter, this battle may be our toughest yet."

Diana nods understanding. While she never met Hercules, she had heard of his tales when she was younger. She learned of how he killed his family in madness and how he completed the labors as penance. Diana also learns that Hercules was the man who inflicted great pain upon her mother and sisters through his betrayal.

Looking at Hippolyta right now, her face was composed and ready. There was no hint of fear like her sisters. Diana wonders if her mother is still haunted by that man?

Diana shook her head.

It didn't matter now, he was on this island as an invader. Legend or not, Diana will make sure to cut him down.

Brother or not, Diana will make sure to end the nightmare that plagued her sisters and mother for so long.
