Defense Of Antwerp

The battle over Antwerp was intense since this location acted as a supply port for the Allies. If the German army were to capture this area, they would effectively cut out vital support for the Allies. It would also isolate and split the Allies offensive allowing them to encircle 4 major divisions of the Allied army within Europe. This would give the Germans time to focus their defense in the East against the Soviet Union.

Along the city ports, the defending Allied army has been holding as long as they could against the advancing German forces. Reinforcements were limited due to the fact that an all out German Blitz caught them off guard. The 2 Allied divisions of Canadian and American forces were pushed back heavily resulting in this port being isolated.

Diana and Steve arrived near the outskirts of the city moving a series of trenches. For the defenses, Allied forces made sure to create these deep trenches in order to slow down the advancing German army. They could not afford the port being damaged and as a result, moved the majority of their army over here.

Unfortunately, this meant that the small towns outside the protection of these deep trenches fell into German hands without much resistance. The civilians had to retreat and take refuge also with the soldiers.

Arriving in the trenches, Diana and Steve were met with dirtied and exhausted faces. Soldiers pressed along the muddled wall of the dirt as they tried their best to stay awake. Children and mothers stay huddled together in warmth and fear over their situation.

Diana couldn't avoid the gaze from one particular old woman. Her face wrinkled with dirt and mud as her grey eyes directed her view upon Diana. The woman then took Diana's hand pleading with her eyes.

"Help, please help. They've taken my granddaughters." She says in Dutch. Being a demigoddess, Diana was blessed with knowledge to understand most if not all universal languages on this planet.

"Where are they?" Diana asks.

"They are a little over to the side of these trenches. The Germans have captured the town and are using the children and civilians as hostages."

Steve looks grimly at Diana and nods.

"I've also heard the same thing from the soldiers here, princess. Apparently a small squadron of German soldiers managed to overrun the fortified town and managed to push the soldiers and civilians over here. They are for the children to use as cover and this makes it impossible for us to try and help."

"By Hera, these people are animals. To use children in such a way is unfathomable." Diana says angrily.

Looking over the small town across from them. Diana makes up her mind and begins climbing the small ladder from the trenches.

"H-Hey, what is the woman doing?" A soldier cried out.

But Diana does not pay it any mind as she stands out of the cover of the trenches and into the open field area.

Bang! A loud shot from a sniper rifle comes straight into Diana's direction. The bullet then grazes her bracers in a spectacular fashion.

The soldiers stand in shock while Steve smiles raising his pistol.

"Oh boy, well I did say I will follow you."

He then gets up behind Diana as she begins rushing into the frontlines towards the captured town as bullets spiral towards her.

"Awe damn it all to hell. Better to die there than in this sticking mud." A fellow soldier says.

The other soldiers aren't sure what to do, but seeing Diana bravely running towards the enemy made their blood boil and many of them started moving their bodies. Exhaustion and bitterness from before seems to go away when looking at the 'wonder' woman before them.

With a loud battle cry, the Allied soldiers begin an offensive to capture the town.

Making it into town, Diana is bombarded with heavy gunfire as German desperately try to slow her down. Seeing a group of soldiers held in a small factory building, Diana plants her foot down and quickly lunges herself towards the window into the unsuspecting soldiers.

The glass breaks into pieces as Diana using her shield bashes one soldier into the wall. There was a moment of shock as the 4 soldiers turned around to see a beautiful but intimidating woman dressed in Greek styled armor.

One soldier breaks out of his stupor and raises his kar98k rifle at Diana. But before a shot can be made, Diana kicks a table set, sending it flying into the man and a fellow soldier knocking them down. The other two Germans let out a couple of shots but were blocked by Diana's bracers as she rushed down one with her shield.

The speed and impact from her shield knocked the man towards the wall and unconscious. The remaining soldier takes out a knife and lunges at Diana.

She ducks and then side steps into raising her fist launching him out of the building and into the view of Steve and the fellow Allied soldiers.

"Jesus almighty, remind me to never get on her bad side." He mutters.

Steve and a couple soldiers arrive in an alleyway when heavy gunfire makes them stop.

"Anybody have a grenade?"

A soldier hands him one.

"Make it count, this is our only one."

Steve smiles and quickly tosses it overhead right into the German group. The loud explosion kills the shooters as they make their way towards the town center.

Diana sees some civilians running while a German tiger tank in the center aims its' mark upon Diana. She makes a lunge jumping over the tank shell before tackling the tank with her body. The impact creates a noticeable dent in the tank as it begins lifting it up.

The blessing of the Gods proves favorable as Diana flips the tank over with a loud roar.

Steve and the rest of the Allied soldiers pour into the town square as they begin clearing out the Germans.

Diana lassos one soldier by the torso and pulls his body close enough for a kick into the face. She repeated this process until enough was cleared.

"Haha, this isn't so bad right princess?" Steve says, pointing his pistol and letting it fire.

Unfortunately, Steve spoke too soon as 3 Germans dressed in black with gas masks jumped from the church landing in front of him.

"Oh shi-"

Steve couldn't finish his words as a single punch from one of them sent him flying into a nearby building.

"Steve!" Diana exclaims.

She doesn't have time to check on him as the 3 of them rush her at blinding speeds.

Diana's guard was up as she ducks from one punch before raising her arm to block several blows.

The impact from the man's foot would have done a lot of damage if she wasn't a demigoddess.

Years of training with the Amazons made it possible to withstand their punches and kicks, but Diana could tell that these people were different. In fact, these people were faster and stronger than anyone she knows besides Kal-El.

Taking a hold of one of the feet, Diana flings the soldier into the nearby church.

Diana then slides down and kicks the second soldiers off balance before lassoing the other.

She held him in place as he struggled in defiance. But Diana's grasp and tether on him was too strong.

"Who are you? What is your purpose?" Diana asks.

The German soldier grunted and continued struggling before the lasso compels him to open his mouth.

"W-we are Hitler's elite super soldiers and we are here to kill you."

Diana's eyes narrowed.

"Who sent you?"

He struggled a little bit more before the glow from the golden lasso forces answers from his mouth.

"Ares."

Diana's mind races and her heart pumps in adrenaline from the images of dead mother. In her mid daze, the man's comrades appear from the rubble.

"Kill her…" The man says as he bits a black pill within his mouth. His face starts foaming before his lifeless body crumbles into the ground.

'What strong loyalty and belief' Diana thinks. The other two German super soldiers looked at her furiously. Both of them take out a purple pill and pop it into their mouths. Their bodies shook with a slight shudder as their masks broke from the deformity of their skin. The two soldiers' faces were bloodshot and bulging with energy. Looking at the blood running out of their pores, they did not have enough time.

One of them then picks up the destroyed tank and hurls it at Diana.

Her eyes widen as her body reacts just in time to dodge it by the skin of neck.

Not letting her rest, the other super soldier bursts with speed towards Diana. His new found speed was much faster than before and it caught Diana off guard.

He raises his fist as Diana holds her arms in a cross formation with her bracers acting as the opposing force. The backlash of energy sends the man onto the ground while Diana huffs in slight exhaustion.

His face contorts as his whole body begins to bleed out profusely. The soldier tries to get up, but his body was damaged beyond repair as he couldn't help but lie there awaiting his death.

Unfortunately, Diana's mistake was not keeping her focus on both of them. The other super soldier in his last ditch managed to take Diana by the neck. He begins squeezing her neck as Diana struggles to break free.

His face had blood pouring out of his very skin as he continued trying to kill Diana.

She struggles as her vision begins to darken when suddenly…

BANG!

The man lets go of Diana as his face bursts into bits.

Diana coughs for air while on the ground. She sees a figure approaching her.

"You alright princess…? Oh wow, that's one disgusting fucker." Steve says, looking at the dead German.

After a few minutes, Diana caught her breath and was helped up by Steve.

"Are the children alright? Is everyone safe?" Diana asks.

Steve smiles and turns his head into the direction towards a nearby standing building. There inside were children of all ages and other civilians that couldn't escape in time. They all looked at her with gratitude and happiness.

Wrapping the rescue, Diana and Steve went back towards the city of Antwerp to meet back with the general. He had heard the news of Diana's rescue and was more than thrilled by the success. Apparently, Diana managed to kill the 3 super soldiers that made such a huge problem for the Allies defense.

"Alright General, time to fill your end of the bargain. Tell Diana where exactly did Superman go?" Steve asks.

The general sighs before nodding. Even if this was classified information, a deal was a deal. He also wants to get on the side of wonderwoman here. The soldiers and civilians were now calling her that and he couldn't help to agree with that statement.

"Last we heard of superman was when he flew into the German territories. In particular, he seemed to be following a train into Poland and should be around near west Poland or even Berlin."

"Why is he there?" Diana asks.

General Patterson shrugs.

"He might just kill Hitler right there and then and end the war." He pauses contemplating something before continuing.

"But listen here, I have sources that the leader of the so called Nazi super solider project is at Berlin as we speak. So my guess is that Superman has to be heading or is already there in Berlin."

Diana looks at Steve who nods.

Next stop, Berlin. Diana hopes that Kal-El is alright. She is completely sure that Kal-El wouldn't have much trouble with the super soldier, but she knows that things can get out of hand quickly if something triggers him. In a time of war, Diana has heard some horrid rumors...hopefully it was untrue.

Feeling her chest tighten, Diana knows that she needs to get to Kal-El as fast as possible before he does something he'll regret.
