Everyone cheered!
It was an excellent fight and it reminded them to never underestimate the opponent. Ivysaur was clearly stronger, older, and more experienced than Toshi but because she underestimated him, she lost pretty quickly.
Chelone healed both of them after the fight.
"Nice fight! That was one of the most beautifully executed Solar Beam I have ever seen," Heqet patted Toshi gently using her vines. Toshi blushed by her comment.
"The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing," Heqet said to Ivysaur who sat silently and contemplated the fight.
Meanwhile, a group of pokemon repaired the arena.
"Well done to both of you," Keristrasza said with an impassive face.
She announced that the next fight will be against Wartortle. Both participants entered the arena.
Toshi immediately transformed with the help of Imposter.

Leon used Reader skill to check Wartortle's skills instantaneously and used his Parallel Thought Process skill to come up with a strategy. Leon and Toshi knew that they couldn't let Wartortle drag this fight out.
Unlike Ivysaur, Wartortle was on high alert. He was also well-rounded and had good sustain. If he would get to build his moves up, it would be over. They had to win the first clash and utilize pressure and speed to prevent him from analyzing Toshi, or to let him over analyze Toshi's next moves.
Leon decided to actively instruct Toshi during this fight.
"3… 2… 1… Battle Start!" Keristrasza declared.
Immediately use Fake Out while bracing yourself in case he will use Aqua Jet and you will get hit first. Then, boost yourself with Shell Smash, Leon instructed telepathically.
Wartortle used Aqua Jet to strike pre-emptively thinking that Toshi would boost himself or use a field move. When he hit his opponent, he was surprised.
Toshi didn't lose his balance but just moved a couple of inches. He immediately used Fake Out that made Wartortle flinch and Toshi boosted himself with Shell Smash as instructed.
"Aqua Jet!" Leon shouted, then he said telepathically, 'Keep the pressure up. Use another Shell Smash, so Wartortle won't be able to keep up. Don't give him time to think and respond.'
As Wartortle was about to recover, he got hit by a blinding Aqua Jet which sent him flying. Toshi immediately used another Shell Smash and was now four levels faster than Wartortle.
Wartortle wanted to increase his distance from Toshi to relieve the pressure he felt and compose himself. He used Surf, so he could have a higher vantage point while riding the wave. He looked down to check Toshi's location but could not find him. He felt a shiver down his shell.
When they saw Wartortle building up Surf, Leon instructed telepathically, 'Use Dig first to hide underground then emerge under his Surf, then use Waterfall to climb up the wave and use Water Pulse right under him.'
When Wartortle saw the hole Dig created, it was too late and he was blasted by a Water Pulse. He did not know where it came from. In his confusion, he desperately used Double Team.
Toshi used Aura Sphere in midair to account for his accuracy, and Wartortle's increased evasiveness.
Toshi's pressure and relentless attacks had badly battered Wartortle that he instantly fainted after he got hit.
