As soon as Ivysaur stepped into the arena, Toshi transformed immediately with the help of Imposter.

Toshi trained hard for the last three months and has already sparred with countless ivysaurs, charmeleons, and wartortles. His potential broke through from C rank (Peak) to B rank (Mid) with the help of the abundant energy present in the Monarchs' nests and his Recycler talent.

Leon decided not to use the Pokemon Records + Transform trick during these fights.

They already knew Ivysaur's opening moves.

"3… 2… 1… Battle Start!" Keristrasza declared.

"Toshi, stick with the plan!" Leon instructed.

Ivysaur used Sunny Day and then Grassy Terrain.

Toshi did not interrupt the field moves since he would also benefit from it. He used Double Team to increase his evasion, then Sweet Scent to decrease the opponent's evasion.

Ivysaur noticed her mistake but didn't take it to heart. When she was about to use Sword Dance, Toshi used Razor Leaf to interrupt it.

Ivysaur immediately used Vine Whip to deflect the leaves which made time for Toshi to use Growth.

Both were trying to end the fight with just one hit.

Ivysaur felt Razor Leaf's power and it was weak. She smirked and used Curse to boost her physical attack and defense but in turn decrease her speed. This was what they were aiming for.

Toshi used another Sweet Scent to further decrease Ivysaur's evasion.

Together with two stacks of Sweet Scent and the decrease in Ivysaur's speed, this would increase their plan's success, Toshi thought.

Ivysaur used another Curse to further increase her stats while Toshi used another Growth.

Ivysaur didn't think much of Growth. She knew that dittos could only copy the same level of skill proficiency she has, so she smirked at the thought of it.

Only her physical skills were at Advance rank and the rest were at Intermediate which had a huge gap. This would force Toshi to melee and she already boosted herself twice. While Toshi only used an intermediate level Growth.

All of this happened in less than 3 seconds.

Little did Ivysaur know, Toshi's "All for One and One for All" talent could increase/decrease his skill proficiency to the same level of his Transform skill. His Transform skill was already at Advance rank, therefore, all of his copied skills were at Advance rank as well.

Ivysaur was going to pay for this blunder, Toshi thought and faked a Take Down.

Seeing this Ivysaur used Seed Bomb. As the projectile came closer, Toshi used Substitute.

When Seed Bomb hit the Substitute with terrifying power, a dust cloud appeared. Ivysaur roared and grinned as she thought she had already won. There was no way anyone could survive a twice boosted Seed Bomb at that range, she thought.

While in the cover of the dust cloud, Toshi knew that with the decrease in Ivysaur's speed, plus the effect of double Sweet Scent meant that at this range, Ivysaur could not dodge his attack.

Immediately, Toshi charged a Solar Beam with everything he could muster.

When the dust cloud settled, Ivysaur's smirk disappeared as she saw a blinding light. Toshi fired his Solar Beam directly at close range.

Ivysaur was able to use Protect but it was only at intermediate rank, so a twice boosted Solar Beam at that range spelled disaster to anyone in her situation.

Time seemed to move slowly as the Solar Beam broke through her protection and as she tried to dodge the humongous solar beam, she felt like a slug. She then realized that her Curse back then backfired, along with Toshi's Sweet Scent which has sealed the deal. She smiled before getting hit by the magnificent Solar Beam, then fainted.

The first fight ended in less than 10 seconds.
