Crystal Onix and ?? [25]

There are crystals everywhere, the ceiling, the ground and even in the water.

I started to scan the water until I finally found it.

Crystal Onix.

A cold sweat goes down the side of my head as I see the height of the Crystal Onix. I know that it's still in its baby phase and isn't at its full size, but I've never seen a Pokemon at its height before.

Quickly regaining myself, I started to set up Monferno.

"Monferno, Sunny day" I command

Monferno, now blowing our cover, starts to use a sunny day to help his fire moves deal more damage. Apparently in the anime fire type attacks are very effective against it, so I've decided I want a quick victory with Monferno and capture it fast.

The Crystal Onix realising it's not alone in the cave sprouts up from the small lake.

"Onix!" It roared intimidatingly.

"Monferno, Flamethrower." I shout, not before commanding my Bulbasaur as well. "Bulbasaur, protect me incase one of Onix's moves gets close to me."

Monferno complying with my command immediately uses Flamethrower, while Bulbasaur stands by.

The Crystal Onix not sitting still, uses a rock throw minimising the damage from the flamethrower, but still gets hit tiring it a bit.

The Onix's rock throw was able to almost hit Monferno, but because of his superior stats and training, was able to dodge easily.

The now aggrivated Onix gets up close and personal and tries to attack I assume using either a tackle or bind.

"Monferno, dodge and fire punch!" I shout.

Monferno seeing the incoming Onix, quickly uses double team to avoid getting wrapped like a present and uses a fire punch right after getting a direct hit sending the Onix back a few metres dazed.

"Onix!" The Onix roars madly

The now irritated Onix opens its mouth and sends out a purple looking gas heading towards Monferno.

Monferno with no other way out uses protect to shield itself from any damage. The now identified dragon breath recoiling from the protect starts to head towards my direction.

Bulbasaur, quickly reacting, uses razor leaf to cancel out the move protecting me.

Now with an open chance to attack Monferno strikes again with another direct fire punch on Onix sending it back with swirls in its eyes.

"Great job Monferno!" I say, as I throw an ultra ball at the huge overgrown crystal snake.

Getting Onix's Pokeball, I make my way out of the cave just to see that the rocky road my Gabite made was completely taken by the current.

"Damnit, I still need a water type!" I shout, ruffling my head.

My Gabite is still tired because of making the trail yesterday, so I'm gonna roam the island for a little bit to see if I can find any useful Pokemon.

So for the next four hours of roaming I found multiple different Pokemon like Maril, Lotad and a few Shellders.

Walking past a little pond I notice another Pokemon peeking out of the pond. Quickly looking at the unidentified Pokemon, I proceeded to scan it.

[Species: Totodile (The big jaw Pokemon)

Junior Tier (lvl 12)

Gender: Female

Wild Pokemon

Type: Water

Ability: Torrent (Water type moves do 50% more damage when hp is low)

Basic Information: This Totodile is currently below average in terms of mastery of its moves, but because of it living in the wild with a lot of predators its toughened up its body. It's 1.2 times bigger than the average Totodile and is very serious due to it doing everything it can to survive in the wild.]

My luck is amazing, aren't the odds for a Pokemon with either Torrent, Blaze and Overgrow to be female extremely low?

Well I shouldn't really ponder on the matter much longer and start battling it. Now done scanning I sent in my Bulbasaur.

"Bulbasaur, on guard"

Bulbasaur quickly gets in front of me, locates the enemy.

I don't want to do anything in this battle so before hand I told Bulbasaur to battle any Pokemon in front of him by himself if it isn't too much stronger than itself. Now spectating Bulbasaur battle by himself for the first time he makes his first move.

Bulbasaur starts us off with a razor leaf quickly breezing through the wind getting a hit on Totodile. Totodile not wanting to back down quickly goes for a bite.

The bite, hitting the target, as Bulbasaur decides to tank the damage. This decision ends up making me confused, but soon after I recognise what he's doing.

Bulbasaur now with his opponent stuck and without anywhere to go, charges up a point blank leaf storm. Totodile, before Bulbasaur can send any attacks back at it gets in a few more bites doing a decent amount of damage towards Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur now fully charged up, sends out a huge leaf storm quickly bringing the confused Totodile with it. Totodile now trying to recover on the floor doesn't get any rest as Bulbasaur quickly attacks with a vine whip sending it flying into a rock, knocking it out.

Now with the Totodile standing still, I throw an ultra ball at the Totodile making a red beam gradually surround its body and capture it.

DING!

Another capture for my team, making my Kanto team now have four Pokemon. This roster is quite decent covering up quite a few type match ups. Of course I plan on catching more than six Pokemon for my squad as having a good amount of coverage is good compared to having only one or two types.

The next Pokemon I'm probably gonna aim for is Nidoran male. The second would most likely be a Ghastly from the maidens peak festival. As in the episode as it seems to be very old. The other two are Abra and Aerodactyl, but they are to be thought about later on.

I'm not sure where to even find an Abra in the first place and I also just want the fossil episode to happen like cannon in the anime.

The reason for this is because I want to snatch the Togepi egg Ash magically wakes up with. A Togekiss for my Galar team would literally be god send, as I really need a Pokemon like Togekiss that already has amazing coverage for its typing and learnable moves.

My Gabite now fully rested up, gets his ass back to work making a rocky bridge which takes him a few hours as I proceed to now introduce my new Pokemon and make sure they obey me.

My Onix seems to be the foodie type of guy which I respect and my Totodile is like a soldier who does your every command which is neat.

"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur shouts with a smug grin plastered on its face, as it starts to converse with Totodile.

"Totodile!" Totodile says a little mad, starting to reprimand the smug seed Pokemon.

Monferno quickly joining in the little conversation proceeds to beat up both Pokemon trying to knock them down a peg or two.

While all of this is happening, Crystal Onix is slowly making its way to help Gabite as it's still scared of Monferno after the beating it got from him the first time.

Seeing my Pokemons interactions I start to smile.

Hey if the party looks disfunctional that means that they were made for each other, a perfect match.

After the rocky bridge was finished being built. I retrieved all my Pokemon back into their Pokeballs besides Bulbasaur as I made my way back into town and inside the teleporter building. Teleporting costs quite the buck, which makes it very impractical for some trainers.

But for a rich guy named Agent Colson over here, it's no big jiffy. I just give the man with a probable champion level Alakazam a lot of money, and he sends me to where ever I want.

Of course, for the right price at least.

My destination this time will be Pewter City.

I don't want to prolong too much of a long journey as I need to prepare for my debut in the Galar region shortly after my third badge if everything goes well. The Galar regions league rules are a bit different than the other regions.

All the new trainers participating in that seasons gym circuit will be introduced shortly after the season starts in a stadium to the audience. Then the trainers are given at the most two years to finish the Pokemon gym circuit.

Some lose and some give up, but one thing is for certain, is that the challengers that make it past the gym challenges are especially strong trainers.

Usually the trainers are given five months before the gym circuit in the Galar starts to get their Pokemon up to par witht the gym leaders. The gym leaders in the Galar aren't there to test you but to beat you and set a standard for what level you should be.

They might not use their strongest Pokemon, but they will use their wits and experience to beat you without any mercy.

So my goal right now is to use the help of the teleporters in the cities and quickly beat the first three gyms in Kanto so I can prepare to head to Galar.

Telling the man my destination, he proceeds to send out his Mr. Mime and teleports Bulbasaur and I to Pewter City.
